I know, I know, this film is nearly 9 minutes long and social media makes us believe everything should be 10 seconds or less, but a good story should be told properly and connect with people, not with algorithms, so I’m ignoring that today. I also think as videographers/filmmakers it’s important to showcase full length pieces from time to time, as, honestly, it’s not that hard to make 10 seconds of carefully chosen clips from an entire beautiful wedding day look good, but to tell a story properly- to pace it, to order it, to elicit a range of emotions from the viewer over a longer piece of work takes time and patience and that’s what, I think, most of us are here for, so it’s nice to sometimes show that off! Also you want to stick around, as the party at this wedding was pretty epic!
A little about the day:
Samantha and Patrick’s 2 day wedding in Paris is about as romantic as it gets, not only did they chose the city of love for their special occasion, but they actually spent time at the Hemingway Bar at the Ritz Paris in the early days of their relationship and dreamed of one day getting married there. Skip forward a few years and I found myself sharing a breathtaking few days with them and their closest family and friends, firstly on a beautiful river cruise down the Seine, culminating in a stop at the Eiffel Tower for its nightly light show, before witnessing a truly show-stopper of a wedding day at the Ritz.
The couple were married in the beautiful (Grand Jardin) gardens of the hotel in the Parisian sunshine, before having drinks in the Bar Vendôme, dinner in the Salon d’Eté and a true extravaganza of a party in the evening.

I do wedding films with my partner in Mexico, we're called FilmSoul, I discovered you from Felix and Martzia's wedding 3 years ago and your films are a big inspiration for us because my partner loves doing static frames, and we do a lot of long format vids like this one.
Just wanted to say how pleasing and well crafted your work is, you're a great example that wedding videos don't have to be always moving, frenetic, high energy with hero shots every single frame, love it, great work as always! Grettings from Mexico!

Thanks for the kind words and, yes, I agree, it’s easy to turn a wedding film into a disjointed series of hero shots rather than telling a story of the whole day, which is something I try and avoid!
