I had a Shiba Inu when I was 10 in Japan - when we had to return to the States our neighbors took her in. When we returned to our house 2 years later she was there in the driveway doing somersaults - I don't know how she knew it was us. We brought her home to the States w/ us a year later and she will always be in my heart. If I could have a dog again it would be a Shiba Inu!!! Domo arigoto gomashita! You made my day. I bow to the Shiba Inu in our lives.
Dogs have permanent memories like we do. I've seen videos of strays being reunited with their families after over a year. They instantly remembered their families and ran over to them as fast as they could.

Dont want to say anything,but shibas can have white or orange-brown-white fur.Samyoeds are yet pretty similar to the white fured shibas,but they grow a lot bigger,my dude.

i have a feeling a lot of these owners strictly train their dogs and cats just for the attention they get online. the cat and shibe "watching" the laptop looks so uncomfortable and would never naturally do that on its own

My shiba tends to not care what you put on/around him while he's laying down, so it could just depend on the individual personality.
