As a Fallout and Destiny player I'm noticing this new update is not too dissimilar to what we have in Destiny 2. In fact a couple of the new things they have been adding to this game feel like they've been inspired from that game. For example: the new weapon they're releasing for the update is essentially Tommy's Matchbook but in the Fallout universe. It's a gun that inflicts self burning damage but the longer you use it the more powerful it gets. Another example is the Cremator which looks acts like a suped up version of Witherhoard which is meant to do damage over time a whittle boss's health or clear ads quickly. The new crafting system that they're implementing is akin to the crafting system (for legendaries) in D2 to somewhat lessen the grind. Even the raid system (with multiple boss encounters) looks to be similar in set up with 4 star legendaries instead of Adept loot that we have in D2. The only reason I bring this up is because it looks like the game might run into the same pitfalls D2 had with all these things so it might be something to look into. One example would be the creating of content that is only there for "elite players" who like to raid in challenging encounters and this creates a gap in the experience and a little bit of elitisms into the community. So I'll be curious to see how the devs tackle such a thing and if that even develops because if memory serves me right the last vault raids we had were a little buggy and frustrating to get through sometimes so even those players may be detracted from playing them. I will say I hoping teammate healing becomes more involved in this game. It makes harder content more approachable for newer players as they are less likely to be obliterated during ever encounter. Just a thought. *Edit: typos
The cremator or any flamer, in some ways, becomes the team healer as well. Forget the name of the perk, but there is a Charisma perk where lighting your friends on fire actually heals them. Works for NPCs as well. With my modified cremator, I'm doing something like 3000 dmg, with 2600 of that being fire over 12 seconds. So, I'm burninating some mob and healing like 220 dmg/sec to friendlies. To me, that fills the role. If more than one person is doing it, all the better. I'm sure my numbers could be increased a lot more if I actually played my perks right =)
@@cfriedel123 Oh yeah the Holy Fire (and just flamers in general) and it's perk card interaction always reminded me of the TF2 medic kind of deal. I wish they would just give it an alt fire to heal (that consumes less ammo lol) instead of having to use perk cards for it. No matter though it's super helpful during radiation rumble :D.
Yeah, I haven't played Destiny but what you say makes sense. I'm also sensing that they're bringing in concepts from other MMOs. Which frankly is worrying, FO76 is unique because it's not like most MMOs, especially in the way you don't HAVE to grind in order to enjoy it. If the new path is towards "encouraging" players to min-max and "elitism" then that's a worrying trend.
That's actually a worry for me as a solo player. Hopefully it's like Earl where anybody can start it and other people can join if they feel like it, instead of having to join guilds or schedule the raid.
That's same dude back in June xbox panel talked about wanting 4* legendaries back 4 years ago, but Bethesda agree not to because they didn't gave content hard enough to put them in, but check back at his interview in June at Xbox showcase. Also remember we had raids in game probably 3-4 years ago but we're buggy mess and weren't that fun to do. I have faith they know enough about fame engine to do them correctly now.
My first thought is that “4 star legendaries” will just be new named items with pre-set effects. There will not be many if them, and really it will just add to the pool of items which are already “4 star” items like Holy Fire, Red Terror etc.
I've always wanted this game to bring in raids and best in slot gear dropping from there, simply to give more to do during the end game. I'd also like to see the raids be soloable. In my opinion it would be incredible to see a random 4-star legendary drop from raids (any legendary re-rollable weapon, not just a unique reskin) and considering the new crafting system is coming out, for the other 3 stars on the 4-star item to be rollable with that system. You'd be able to decide stars 1-3 after having gathered the boxes/plans and mats for it, I think that's fair. The only RNG aspect is the 4th star and which gear the raid drops for you. Excessive RNG isn't great, kind of like the current legendary crafting system, though it still has some charm to it as it keeps the grind going. Having a 4th star randomized on a random item would be good for the long-term health of the game imo, as it keeps players like myself interested in grinding specifics out, yet it should be way less RNG dependent than trying to get a godroll with the current system. It also doesn't exclude super casual players, but naturally you'll see overall better rewards with more playtime (as in any game really). I'm also curious as to how long it will take to complete a raid. Hopefully it doesn't exceed 20-30 minutes after having learned how to do it properly. Dragging it on out for too long could make the raid tedious, it may also become less accessible to some casual players. Edit: The severity of RNG also depends on how many different 4 star options there are, so that'd be something for Bethesda to keep in mind.
It's easy on the switch especially scarlet and violet just make a sandwich or don't I've found shinies both ways, gba was the grind fire red took me years just to get 1 shiny zubat
So if these are anything like how they had it when Jeff green was going to release this. It will be a box mod that you can just put on your three star weapon or armor. I’m sure somewhere online there’s a list of all the four-star legendary’s that they were going to introduce and I doubt it’s changed much. I hope the raids are hard. If it’s for the elite class of players the best of the best it should be extremely difficult. Plus with legendary crafting everybody’s gonna have the best armor and the rolls that they want so you couldn’t be more ready.
Extremely lucky. It took me forever to roll my Unyielding Sentinel's set and that's with only two good stars. But I also got a bloody, explosive, -25 VATS crusader pistol just then LOL.
There's two ways I could be okay with 4* Legendaries. One is if the 4th star is fixed to a weapon in the way that guns like Gunther's Big Iron has it's own unique perk. If we got a 4* Legendary Handmade that took .38 ammo for example. I'd be happy if the 4th star is fixed to weapons that are otherwise legendary craftable, as we kind of have some of those already, the cursed weapons like Holy Fire already behave this way. The other way they could do it that I would be happy with is if the recipe for the 4th star can't be learned, but every time we scrap a weapon with a 4* Legendary perk, it drops the perk to be equipped on another piece of gear. If they have the same chance to drop and be learned (1.5% and 1% respectively) I'll be very disheartened. They also, of course, need to be impactful. No more enemy specific perks like Mutant Slayer or Troubleshooter, please. If they give us bleeding back as a 4* I'll be over the moon, especially with the revamp to DOTs coming with MP0.
The game needs to get significantly harder before a 4th star is necessary in this game. & I absolutely hate how we have to do single events over & over again to get new things. Fucking tedium.
Worse case scenario will be, 4th star will not be craftable and only be available on equips dropped from the incoming raid... That would be a total nightmare
Part of me dosnt want to grind for it and part of me hopes they make that shit so grindy to make it rare asf to keep it unique and I hope they have a way for you to show it off like a unique skin
What we need is content. Not more powerful this or that. Not 4 stars. We need regular and consistent map expansions and story content. We should be getting Wastelanders size expansions yearly for 76 just like ESO does. The gear is to powerful and the enemies too weak now. This is only going to exacerbate the issue.
I am really curious how the raid will play out but im not sure how i feel about 4 stars. Personally speaking I already have a ton of damage and am near unkillable so I dont really need gear with a fourth star on it. Cant really think of something that could roll that would enhance my general experience. Maybe the fourth star gear will be gear that just fits in the raid and makes it easier on following tries
Bethesda's announcement of 4 star has caused me to stop my Fallout 1st subscription; and I still have Fallout 4 and Skyrim to satisfy my gaming appetite. Bethesda is, yet again, holding a carrot in front of my nose. I'm not chasing anymore. Fallout 76 is now a 3rd or 4th choice that I will play only very occasionally Over time, Bethesda turned Fallout 76 into a good enough game. But this change is the bridge too far; this change has ruined Fallout 76 for me. AS I said, I'm not chasing anymore.
I’d rather if the name items affect in fallout didn’t become a legendary effect. The point of the name items is for them to be their own separate area of weapon. In Another word something similar to what division 2 and 1 (I think I haven’t played 1) With the named items, it makes them unique and different basically
And this is where the new modding your gear system comes in if you get a four star piece of gear you ain’t gonna be happy to roll it and lose that four star they need to change the ratio though it’s a cool idea but people get bored very quickly and not everyone is going to be so eager to grind ridiculously hard for minimal chances of gear and weapons that they are either can’t rerolland gain the ability to still keep it a star rating of 4 hopefully they will have sense to make these raids not too long because I’m not being shitty when I say this but the stability of the game is excessively unreliable so far I have missed so much loot just because my game bugged or crashed out I’m talking simple missions such as feed the people Mothman equinox just before the end of the event before the rewards give out my game has crashed and this is on console. I understand the PC has his own stability issues but maybe they should be addressing this before throwing an extreme grind out.

I'm going to be the Devil's Advocate here and ask: Do we really need 4* legendaries. I mean, I have 3* legendary weapons now that can literally run through everything but Earl and a few others without breaking a sweat and 3* Legendary Power Armor that blocks everything short of a fullblown nuke. I really wouldn't consider what I have top-tier either. Unless Bethesda is going to seriously up the ferocity of the mobs, it just seems like this is goalpost chasing.
Hey yall, I am a new player lvl 75. I want a good auto gun. I have a level 45 .50 cal heavy gun that has the quad legendary, so my clip holds 999 rounds. BUT, each round hits for like 9 to 45 damage. It takes FOREVER to kill anything tanky. Is this normal? Or is there much better guns? I don’t focus on builds, I like playing the story. I just want to play the story and F S up.
Quad is pretty bad on a .50 cal. You have plenty of ammo already so the quad is wasted. Bloody is best if you play at low health, but Aristocrats or Junkies works well with full health. If you use power armor then the Stabilized perk will reduce enemy armor for heavy weapons. If you like heavy weapons, try the Gatling Gun or the LMG. Generally I'm not a fan of the .50 MG. Or try automatic rifles. They tend to be preferred by many players because you can stack damage boosting perks because perception doesn't have too many other competing perks. Unlike strength or agility.
Well, we will see, also wonder what that 4th star will offer, given each star has unique pool of effects, will it be new effects or old effects we know but on 4th star, making space for other effect on some of old stars or have double same effect I think best would be if we just got 4th star boxes and no actual gear with those.. it would be most player friendly grind-wise but still somewhat grindy, but then I am not sure how you apply 4th star when at current situation, you need to roll or have 3 star legendary, to apply any box with effect on that, so I kinda worry you will have to get your desired gear 4-star.. which would be incredibly grindy, unles some choices would be given as reward
But the fourth star wouldn't be better than any of the third-star abilities. I guess some people think the third-star is the best trait of the three on a weapon, but in fact it's the first star that matters the most. That's where you get Quad, Bloodied, etc. So what kind of (relatively) lame abilities would a fourth star possibly have?
Clothes Horse - 10% chance on impact that your, or the enemies, clothes will change to random items in your stash inventory. May also spawn kittens that follow you and endlessly meow at you for 1 hour. If you kill said kittens with the weapon, it will impose a 30% accuracy penalty. Killing them with other weapons will impose a 10% penalty. Allies or enemies may shoot them for no effect.
Yeah, I touched on this in the last couple of videos on FO76 but yes cores are being exchanged for scrip. You get 1 scrip for 1 core, which is why you should use cores to roll new legendaries or re-roll on items you want to keep.
MAYBE you CANT LEARN the 4th star, maybe you have to Updrade the piece you get with the other 3 stars, Hopefully it drops Pieces or weapons you are using, so you dotn get junk you dont need, liek your in Secret service and get a 4 star Leather armor. and maybe make it Sellable, if so I think then need to increase caps we can hold, because these will be god expensive.
I dont know its kinda a weird attitude many players have these days, that evrybody wants evrything immediatley, even if being new to the game. In so many video games i wished if they would have very rare weapons and stuff not evry 2nd player has already....but theses days most are afraid to include things like that in their game. You can play F76 perfectly and even be powerful with just a one star bloodied Fixer or Quad Railway Rifle if using just the right perks. And if youre lucky you get a 2 star with explo or FFR and youll kill evrything in a second. Im maybe one of the few players with 5k hours who is already happy if the weapon has the ideal 1st and 2nd effect and will play with that until i get the godroll version of it. When i hear Bethesda is planing 4stars and people are already talking about it gets too difficult to get a 4star GR and it will take to long i think its maybe not a good perspective about it. Though i absolutley agree 1k hours just to be able to craft 4stars would be insane, but this will not happen.
Your math on god rolls, especially with four stars makes a bunch of assumptions. For example, if there are ten fourth star effects, then it's ten times more difficult to get a god roll. That assumes that there is exactly one and only one desirable fourth star attribute, which is a weird assumption. Maybe they're all crap. Maybe they're all great. Maybe they're all mediocre. The math is just hyperbole here
No, I'm not assuming that there's only a single good 4th star. I'm pointing out that if you wanted a particular one that that's what it would take on average.
This dude is a prick. He will hype u up for a "chance" for a 4 star legendary that sucks. Will have 1 good perk at best. So he just told us were getting 4 star script

As a solo player, im disappointed
I do hope that the raids will be interesting enough but I'm keeping in mind that we don't have many actual details yet, so I'm reserving judgement.
I hunt shiny pokemon. Those are cake odds my guy.
It's easy on the switch especially scarlet and violet just make a sandwich or don't I've found shinies both ways, gba was the grind fire red took me years just to get 1 shiny zubat
@@derekst.pierre6457 I understand that this reference.
I must be very lucky i got a q ex 25 railway, a q 25 25 handmade and a b crit , 25. Fixer from random drops .
Hopefully this works ok, no mention of it in the PTS, probably next year it might happen
2 seasons now "well when this season ends" im sorta thinking going back to ESO
The game needs to get significantly harder before a 4th star is necessary in this game.
& I absolutely hate how we have to do single events over & over again to get new things. Fucking tedium.
Needs stability over both those
Worse case scenario will be, 4th star will not be craftable and only be available on equips dropped from the incoming raid... That would be a total nightmare
I got an Anchorage Ace Arctic four star from Neurological Warfare event but TH-cam ate the link to the screenshot.
Hey, I don't doubt it. I got a 5 star legendary from a random encounter so I have no problem believing that you got a 4 star.
Exploiters will have all 4th star mods within a few days as per usual.
Right!
He said a chance, not guaranteed, another grind unless the chance is favourable
Arrrgggh, that would be just evil.
get ready to grind for everything boys n girls ,76 is becoming more and more like a work and not a game....burnout is real
Woot!
I hope this raids didn't focus on tryhard playrs that takes down Earl in 10 seconds would be better if it just expedition but much more harder.
Part of me dosnt want to grind for it and part of me hopes they make that shit so grindy to make it rare asf to keep it unique and I hope they have a way for you to show it off like a unique skin
Ah, the duality of mankind. We want it both ways LOL.
He guessed right, I whack one off in every expedition I do. 😂🎉
A man of culture I see LOL.
I agree with everything you said here.
Great minds right?
Fallout 76 is now a 3rd or 4th choice that I will play only very occasionally
Over time, Bethesda turned Fallout 76 into a good enough game. But this change is the bridge too far; this change has ruined Fallout 76 for me.
AS I said, I'm not chasing anymore.
I’d rather if the name items affect in fallout didn’t become a legendary effect. The point of the name items is for them to be their own separate area of weapon.
In Another word something similar to what division 2 and 1
(I think I haven’t played 1)
With the named items, it makes them unique and different basically
I'm okay with a minimum chance of dropping grolls unless I can craft my own legendaries
Grind Fest
"whack one off", an interesting word choice.
What, you don't whack off expeditions? LOL
Last time I whacked one off in expeditions, people moaned about waiting 30secs @@SequentialGamerFallout
Yeah, but.... 20 minutes? That's an... edge case. 😎
@@SequentialGamerFallout Not without a box of tissues.
Good to know I'm not the only one. We should all whack one off together. We'll get it done much quicker
Well… if they make the weapons this rare, they need to raise the cap limit to like…. 300k because there’s no other way to trade any of that shit
"end game raids"..... right....
A max 24 player server count is going to be rough... And who's playing healer? lol
Get a weapon with the fourth star you want and change the other three.
At lvl 270 nothing is hard to kill, 4th star is going to make it easier.
dont use legendary weapons or craft yourself a level 30 weapon if you want it harder
@@theworldisyours6354 or create higher content. How long have things been stuck at 100 as a level cap. Maybe it's time to have the cranberry bog and the new area go past that number.
no raids should not be easy could be nice if it was like wow where everyone needs to be ready this raid should be a challenge since everything else in the game is not even hard
I'm all for making it a hard fight, what I'm hoping we can do is avoid the need to join guilds and schedule raids. Make it casual like Earl, where anybody can start one and people can join if they want.
@@SequentialGamerFallout thats why theres raid group in the team section u can do it with randoms start one anytime but still i hope its really hard to complete since the last raid we had was just too casual and easy to do it was not even close to be called end game content
'I hope Bethesda is going with the least grindy option'
Wrong.
What if it starts to drop a 4th star mod upon completing the raid? Least this way it bumps the chance to have a mod you want.
I know I'm not the only one who left 76 for a long time.
If it ends up being far WORSE for the new crafting system I've no problem leaving again.
I just want to play the story and F S up.
. 50cal just make sure you have 9 ranks in heavy gunner and in power armor with perk for armor penetration, makes a massive difference
I hope by 'gear' he meant normal armor too because I could not care less about power armor
Pretty sure he meant that.
Well, we will see, also wonder what that 4th star will offer, given each star has unique pool of effects, will it be new effects or old effects we know but on 4th star, making space for other effect on some of old stars or have double same effect
I think best would be if we just got 4th star boxes and no actual gear with those.. it would be most player friendly grind-wise but still somewhat grindy, but then I am not sure how you apply 4th star when at current situation, you need to roll or have 3 star legendary, to apply any box with effect on that, so I kinda worry you will have to get your desired gear 4-star.. which would be incredibly grindy, unles some choices would be given as reward
The crafting update means u only need the 4th star u want
Are they gonna be like the old raids ?
I heard they removing the legendary core in September 3rd 2024
If i remember right 4 star was sopposed been out like 4 decembers ago 🤣🤣🤣
So it's right on time?? LOL
I totally agree with you. I don´t know if its only with Fo76 but the community of Fo76 (on reddit) is full of sissies.
Fix the crashes .. soo fed up
If you are part of a discord group, youll have no prob find good poeple to back you up.
Just give us unyielding power armor!
They can't even get 3 stars to work. I predict lots of broken traits and a 4th teir of stars that no one will even want.
we have enough casual play and easy, repeatable, brainless content. What long term players need is a challenge, not a roll chance.
Do not want raids. I hate an don't do the daily ops
i know its an mmo but im not a fan of a raid for this game... since im often solo
"ten times smaller". Bruh, that's not how English works. Or math for that matter.
This dude is a prick. He will hype u up for a "chance" for a 4 star legendary that sucks. Will have 1 good perk at best. So he just told us were getting 4 star script
Ghoul news?
I don't like 4 stars.
Why? the 3 stars are already complicated
4 stars should be hidden stats what we are already know
U get a chance at it GFY
I disagree, you should have to earn those 4 stars through hard content.
"other MMOs"... FO76 is not an MMO. Far from it.
That's my point, they should not copy systems from other MMOs
🙄
Bruh cry more
