This was good I saw the movie and now I want a sequel that takes place during the war with Alita and gelda.
based on the manga, the sequel might not takes place during the war, but more likely to based on the Jashugan arc and Zapan arc, which are some of the most important arc in the manga, and very epic in scale.

It would be really good but first we need the sequel that will continue/finish the story. Trilogy would be perfect. And maybe after that a prequel of The fall. 3rd movie could also be the prequel. So the 2nd one wpuld finish the story

I wish money wasn't an issue and we could have the sequels and some prequels exploring all this lore. So good.

I've been following Alita's story since 2012, this video missed a lot of stuff from her past but It's a good introduction to the story. I hope this video inspired some people to read the manga.

This is so wonderful, really SO good, thanks a lot. I was close to cry by hearing the backstory and the conflics caused by humans leading to nearly the extinction of all civilizations. This is scifi but it bares a great truth, and I hope we humans become smart enough to understand life is more important than any conflict, I hope we don't destroy ourselves as it seems very possible and likely, I hope we can survive and overcome dificult times and situations. I fear we will not 😣😟😢

The number 99 literaly had nothing to do with her while she was a member of the tatical squad of panzer kunst practitioners that was sent to the orbital anchor from mars, the anchor was above the earth, her mission was to assassinate the leaders of the ladder but when she was captured, the ladder members cut off her arms and legs and bound her to a slab of metal like chair structure and sentenced her to death by way of atomosphereic re-entry to earth, basically thrown out into space and let the earths gravitational pull to burn you alive while falling to the earth's surface, thats how Ido found her 400 years later, 99 was nothing more then just her motorball 99, also she never had the ultimate cyborg technology, the berseker body and even the imaginous body was never part of her past when she was yoko on mars, the only ultimate anything she was was the knowledge of ultimate cyborg hand to hand combat known as panzer kunst, which is utilized to take dowm targets much beigger then herself and targets her size but also to freely move as if you was in zero gravity because the combat style originated in fight in zero gravitu, because if you can move fluidly and effortlessly in zero gravity while fighting then in theory fighting in any type of gravity restriction becomes trivial due to utilizing your targetson body weight and movements against them while dismantling them with pin point accurate strikes and the abikity to send shockwaves and soundwaves through the target with notjing more then a simple punch (in the manga so yes of course fictional) seriously go read the mangas.
The only biological outbreak happened long before the rise of the city, roughly about 800-900 years before the rise of zoloumn, go read the mangas, because the only outbreak there was, was long before the rise of te floating city, it was an out break of vampireism and mutants due to the nuclear fallout of the fall of mankind and then the ice age set in for 300+ years forcing people to damn near live under ground to a degree, after that then when the ice started to thaw and the darkend sky cleared did humanity build the city (scrapyard) and the floating city originally served as a staging area originally for people to travel to and from the orbital anchor and the city.
The movie was great, but it seemed like they left so much of this to mystery or the imagination. This is probably because it's meant to be told from Alita's perspective and she didn't remember any of this either, but it still felt a little hollow not knowing what actually happened between the Imperium and its interstellar colonies, or how things came to be between Zalem and Iron City.
Would be nice if they'd integrate more references to this history in the main story as Alita recovers more of her memories, because most viewers won't be familiar with the source material or seek out bonus features. It would add some much needed context to the narrative that could make the sequels even more popular.
I'd say they left it out because James Cameron wants 2 more Alita movies, and the first one is a combination of many of the anime's and Manga's from the 90's
I feel like this gives the sequels' room to grow. It definitely hinted at a greater history, but I don't think it took away from the story this movie was trying to tell -- in fact, one could argue it adds to the growth and development that Alita's character will go through, as I suppose we'll learn along the way with her.
Funny thing is the Mars Kingdom Parliament she went against are somewhat the nicest faction on Mars.
They should have included the Venus republic and Jupiter union into the story, could have added more lore
perhaps that may happen if they make a sequel to Alita

For those wondering if the adult rifle is from halo it's not the alita manga came out 11 years before halo 1 came out and the anime was out at least 7 years before halo came out as well

Yeah but this animation came out with the movie, so the artists probably just snuck in a halo reference since that rifle didn't appear in the manga or anime.
somehow this lore is completly different compared to the manga. The Venus and Jupiter Moons were colonized as well and were superpowers. And the nanobot attack was on mercury and more or less transformated it into an ocean of nanoboots.
Interesting to know, thanks. I've heard a lot that the movie and it's lore contain multiple different Mangas, some have said it contains more of the last order than they had thought I would.

So ive never read the manga, only the wiki articles. And apparently, alita was a tumor. I believe it was called maske tumors. The tumors are essentially people (heads to be exact) growing out of and inside your body. Her name then was yoko, and she was extracted from a woman (inhumanly) who was dying from the tumors. Eventually, yoko (alita) was somehow put into a baby cyborg body by some scientists whose name i dont remember. I do know it wasnt nova tho. Im kinda glad they didnt go that route for the movie. I dont think the idea of alita being a living breathing tumor would go really well in todays world.

@nikolaiorr8383 I'm reading the manga now. And the movie so far is pretty true to the manga. Somethings are a little different, but overall, they did good in portraying the manga.
@@idoulover The movie was based on basicaly half of the Battle Angel manga but with a lot of things changed (Jashugan missing, nova inside Salem). Also when James Cameron made the original script for the movie in 2003, the old ending was not retconned yet so they just based Alitas backstory on it. Just wait untill you get to last order :D things are about to get a lot different than the movie. Although the movie is great, i miss the grittiness, grey characters, and overall more cyberpunk. I havent yet gotten to the "tumor" thing but this is exactly what cyberpunk is about, are you a human if you are basicaly a thinking tumor with a cybor body? or are you something else? But they absolutely couldnt show this in the movie xD

If you're referring to the "halo like blaster" gunnm the original anime Alita or gally is from, came out over a decade before the first halo. So, Alita or gally, gunnm didn't copy halo

The part where everyone on Mars died is pretty messed up. At least they had a Mars in the original books that was still intact. This Mars got destroyed.

Maybe Mars got resettled but this film continuity specifies that Mars got rendered uninhabitable by nanites eating it up. Besides you cannot recognize Desty Nova in the film because he's not an anarchist yet. There's more besides, but the film is clearly not the manga, unrecognizable in many ways, especially Desty Nova.

basicall, the earth ended up in divided turmoil after the war and theyve been doing their best to develop society since, problem is, Zalem is for the utmost extreme wealthy and powerful while iron city is well, for the less fortunate

Don't get me wrong I love the live-action movie but this new lore is COMPLETELY different from the manga source material. Not one thing in the movie's backstory resembles the manga's backstory at all, which is unfortunate. I think this new lore for the movie has great ideas and is well written, but I feel it wasn't really necessary to diverge from the original backstory. I could nitpick this new lore all day but really my only complaint is what's the point in changing up the backstory when the manga's story would've adapted to the big screen just as well or even better?(It's probably for multiple sequel purposes which the manga's backstory could've allowed sequels as well.) The manga has a much simpler and easier to remember backstory to how the world ended and is much more believable. It doesn't have any widespread disease or Alita having the upbringing of Master Chief from Halo, it's actually much better.
There could be a reason as to why this never happened I suggest watching the behind the scenes of the movie with james Cameron pretty sure it's on the disc also james spent about 8 years on the script before throwing it all away and handing it over to Robert Rodriguez who spent the next 6 years making a script and then the movie

Pretty much yes, it's kinda of like the robocop scenario (the remake not original) Alita was born human, but at the age of 18 she was taken in or I think stolen (one of the two) and basically had almost her entire body chopped off or whatever, except her head and upper torso (heart, lungs etc) the rest of her is all Bio-Nano biotic. She still has a human brain and lungs but her heart was replaced with an anti matter reactor so her human parts could handle the power requirements of the berserker body.

No it wasnt, Ido on earth found the berserker body and hid it under his lab when he realized it was a living breathing weapon of mass destruction, she never had the berserker body until after being sentenced to death by the members of the ladder and only after ido found her in the scrapyard and makaku destroyed her first cyborg body, literally about 500 years after alita was born on mars but her name was yoko and she never had a number while on mars, 99 was nothing more then her number while participating in motorball
FYI, Alita/Yoko's *real* story is VERY different. She was already a cyborg by the age of 4. And much more disturbing things. Read _Mars Chronicle._

The film was better without knowing this backstory. My understanding of Alita grew with that of her adopted father's, rather than my knowing already what she was. When she discovered her true potential it was enlightening, instead of being "yeah, I know".

@@nikolaiorr8383 there are two sky cities. Zalem used to have a elevator that led to the ground but it was destroyed after mars sent its final attack to earth. The elevator used to be used to transport people up to the city but now that it’s gone, the damaged hole at the bottom of zalem is used as a dumping hole which leads down to the scrapyard. If you look at the top of zalem though you can see that a massive pole that seems to lead upward forever. This is actually the continuation of the elevator I was talking about that goes past zalem and into space. This “space elevator” is used to transport zalem citizens up to the space city Jeru. In the middle of the space elevator is a connected cable called the skyhook. The skyhook, also known as the orbital ring is a massive metal ring that circles around earth and is what keeps zalem from plummeting into the ground or Jeru from floating into space. To make sure that the orbital ring has equal weight on both sides of the planet to keep it even, there was another sky city built on the complete other side of the planet called gurat. Gurat actually isn’t a sky city at all however as the entire city is located underwater in the Indian Ocean. Just like zalem, it also is connected to the skyhook and has an orbital elevator that leads up to another space city. This space city is called Zig, which when combining the names creates the word Ziggurat and as well as the other cities create the word Jeruzalem.
