My surgery doesn’t accept telephone appointments. It forces me to go on this terrible NHS APP to do it. Then the app says I can’t make appointments because the surgery hasn’t given me permission. So then I have to write a note on the app explaining I need an appointment but the App won’t allow it. Then I get a text back giving me an appointment date that I haven’t chosen so I have no choice but to cancel my work so I can make the appointment! No proper human communication any more.
Perhaps if people stopped going to the Dr for every slight thing and demanding antibiotics for a runny nose, the Dr might have time for real patients. I also think we should copy other countries and charge for a appointment, it would certainly stop the time wasting.
ITS JUST NOT FAIR NOW!!!! Worked & Paid in all our lives & now we are getting to an age we May need to actually use health care we are less & less likely to be able to get it!!!! 😢
Six months ago my 86 year old partner and I lost our NHS dentist. She has just been quoted £540 for fixing, maybe replacing , a crown. How the Hell are we pensioners expected to be able to afford these outrageous prices?! What the Hell happened to the NHS??!! 😡🤬
We lost our place with an NHS dentist after the lockdown. We were removed from their list because we hadn't been for a year! We pointed out that they had cancelled our 6 monthly appointments in October 2019 and then were closed for months on end. To no avail. Can't get registered anywhere else now. Hope and pray I don't get toothache!
@ChristineRead-ck1uq I have exactly the same problem, I had been at the same dentist since I was 5 years old and I'm now 56, unfortunately it made absolutely no difference, I didn't even know that this was the case because they never sent any notification. Now I can't find an NHS dentist anywhere.
We got the same after covid, they got rid of all nhs patients, no letter, they just wouldn't make you an appointment when you phoned, but could take you on as a private patient.
@ChristineRead-ck1uq Me too. I've just had to fork out £346 for a checkup & will have a tooth extraction next week! I've got little savings left now!🦷🤦♀️

The probl3m is the role of the matron/ head sister has changed they are not like they were 50 years ago They no longer talk and engage with the nurses ,getting to know both staff and patients ,they are mearly another layer of management .They have let practical nursing skills go ,spending their days at a computer screen. The higher up the nursing ladder you go ,the less of a nurse more a manager you become .This is actively encouraged.Wanting to be a bedside nurse is seen as failure
@@helentomlinson6606you've hit the nail on the head, fully agree with everything you've said. I would add that they are promoted too soon, they're no sooner qualified & they're a sister/charge Nurse. I think they should be staff nurses on a ward for a minimum of 3yrs experience before even being considered for promotion which is what it used to be, not sure when it changed.
There is actually a requirement for non working or dependent non UK nationals to pay an annual NHS surcharge fee of around 1000 pounds but it doesn’t seem to be enforced
I’m sick off the NHS there are far too many people in this country they will treat foreigners before they treat the people who pay the taxes God help us if we become sick I don’t drive anymore or my husband were elderly and not in the best of health what do we do if we’re ill

When i trained as a nurse 40 years ago ,if people turned up with pain this was investigated to find out the cause. Now people in pain are told what it might be given pain killers and sent ontheir way .This happened to my niece ,agonising abdominal pain ,soon as the doctor found she worked with children said it was a bug .2 more trips to a&e later someone decided to investigate, she has ovarian cysts .
Matrons themselves have become another layer of management, this is what the public don't seem to understand. THEY don't see the patients ,let alone know their nursing staff ,and are office bound
I know everyone makes errors. I had a minor stroke a couple of years ago it took 6 hours for the ambulance to turn up. After tests despite having symptoms they were refusing to take me to hospital. So much for receiving treatments in the first hour of a stroke being vital.
I took myself in to hospital at 11.45pm and was misdiagnosed with sciatica and sent home with a couple of codeine. The extreme pain in my back continued all night, it was unbearable, son took me to main a&e at 6am but was sent home again wailing in pain after they injected me with something unknown (a painkiller??) that didn’t work. Consultant said I was already diagnosed with sciatica so there was nothing more they could do. An mri eventually showed protrusion of a nerve in spine (not sciatica). These people who are being paid to care need to be held accountable for their ill treatment on so many of us. Hippocratic Oath means nothing anymore.
As a retired nurse I was horrified by my care after a major operation last year.We need to go the continental route to finance the NHS properly ,but god forbid that we end up with American providers.
So true, when my friend (who had worked all his life) was given a hospice bed in his last few hours no ambulance turned up. I asked if I could put him in the car, but they said no, to wait for the ambulance that never turned up. How can we give NHS care to those that have not paid into the process when we can't look after our own? Too much funding is spent on woke management that are failing our own.
Recently had an accident in the lake district. Went to hospital, was told that transport would take me home to Wiltshire after the operation. Woke up in recovery, to be told no transport would take me home. Cost me £400.in a taxi, laying sideways across the rear seat... Complaint to hospital resulted in them saying I lied about the promise of transport.....
My son is a paramedic. Many of their calls are from patients with mental health problems. He was called out to attend someone who needed a plaster for a cut. Another for paracetamol. Quite a few are drug related problems. They don’t find out until they get to the address. He said to me. Avoid having to go to A and E. I’m having an operation tomorrow and I’m very nervous. I’ve waited too long for an MRI result. Now been rushed for my op. Priority.
@ They aren’t honest with their emergency call. They flag up as a genuine emergency and are often aggressive when they don’t get what they want. But I absolutely understand your query. I’ll get more info. Often paramedics go in without full and true info. Some of these people are very devious.
@ I’ve had an operation today. Day patient but it could be serious. Honestly the staff nurses and doctors were just amazing. They were busy all day but were deserving of full praise and gratitude. If only the whole NHS could be run as we all deserve. Patients and staff.
@ Aah this call was at the bottom of the list for their shift. The caller was furious. Got aggressive and they left. My son threw him a bandaid as they left the door. End of shift. Way past their long night shift. They have to be diplomatic. Or face being reported. People don’t hear how it is. Paramedics often don’t finish their long shifts on time. They won’t leave until their patient is sorted.
You are so right, the more people come in, they are getting free treatment, the infrastructure to account for all of these is not there! The amount of nurses doing the degree but using it to do other jobs is phenomenal! There are also infinite amount of managers, under managers and matrons who are not needed!
One of the biggest issues with the NHS is organizational failure, not clinical care. More than 20 years ago I had colleagues who worked on one of the biggest IT projects worldwide to bring the NHS systems up to modern standards at that time and it was a dismal failure and went more than 300% over the original cost budget, in excess of £10 billion. Such a huge and complex organization simply cannot change effectively when it is bogged down with ever-changing rules, regulations, demographic changes and limited budgets. Mission impossible.
I'm in a lot of waiting for an operation for a hip replacement, I've been waiting months and I feel that no one cares, I went to the doctors the other day for a review of my blood pressure, there was no one in the doctors so what the hell is going on there, so much for hard working doctors.
In August, my husband collapsed, 5 hour wait for ambulance or take him ourselves. We took him ourselves, then it was a 12 hour wait to be seen by a doctor.
During lockdown hospitals were instructed to push DNRs on any disabled adults who came into hospitals. I prayed that my son did not get sick, it was terrifying.
An old couple near me he with dementia she blind fell and broke her pelvis a carer I know got to her 10am her son was phoned and informed, the son got on a plane in Dubai flew to Birmingham airport hired a car drove 80 miles to Hereford and as he arrived at his parents house that NIGHT 10 minutes later an ambulance arrived, that was yesterday,
Not entirely a picture of the rest country but an absolutely perfect example of London. If you're in destress you've more chance of being robbed or assaulted in London than helped. 20 mile limits and closed bus lanes make it nearly impossible for any emergency vehicle to get you, of course you'd be better off anyway if the Met kept away. Horrible place to visit, doesn't feel like part of the rest of the country, a shadow of it's former self being dragged further into the mire
I went to the hospital for the first time in many years, and I have come too the conclusion after seeing the amount of people in there. I would rather die, than ever go to a hospital ever again. At 72 I am shocked at what I saw.
BLAIR closed 250k beds, plus made NHS chuck people after operation, when they are still very vulnerable. Within hours people are re- admitted. It is no loner safe in.our hospitals.
Couple of years ago we went to see my partners elderly mother and she had quite a nasty head injury from a fall she’d had, neither myself or partner can drive and when we called for an ambulance we were told the same thing about trying to make our own way to hospital too.
My Doctor's surgery no longer allows appointments either by phone or in person at the surgery, online only, tried to make appointment a week ago online, gave up after half an hour of insurmountable obstacles put before me. I spent 36 hrs in A&E with my sister the other week before she was admitted. By the time tests were carried out, the 6hr window was missed so consultants couldn’t make a diagnosis. After being discharged she ended up at her GP again who sent her for a fast track MRI. My 3 yr old grandson has been monitored since 6 months old as slow growth. In fact he hasn’t grown or put weight on in the last 12 months. The last 6 months he has lived on 600 calories per day (vita-mined milk) when he should be eating at least 1000 calories a day. Problem has been he couldn’t swallow solids. NHS has been hopeless and insurance refused to cover him as the NHS hadn’t formed an opinion. Just dead slow investigating. So then I have to write a note on the app explaining I need an appointment but the App won’t allow it. Then I get a text back giving me an appointment date that I haven’t chosen so I have no choice but to cancel my work so I can make the appointment! No proper human communication any more.
The receptionist asks what is wrong with you before deciding whether you deserve an appointment or not.
@ You got that right! Not only are they officious gatekeepers, but they’ve appointed themselves as unofficial doctors!
They want you dead and they want your savings.
I had the same thing. They said my dentist left so with have to reapply. Total bs
I've got little savings left now!🦷🤦♀️
I turned 62 today, spent all my life in heavy industry, the time is fast approaching I will need the nhs , well I own my own my home, if I take bad I’ll take to the sofa with a bottle of whiskey and just hope and pray I go meet my maker, I ain’t begging for help from any one , shuv it up ya arse
I tell you, I’m 61 soon and feel the same way !
Nice one.
Uk is not united anymore
Bring back the matron or head sister who used to make sure all the other nurses were working
We are all working!!!
I totally agree
Live here for 5 years and working before you are legible for free health care.
Paying into the system
There is actually a requirement for non working or dependent non UK nationals to pay an annual NHS surcharge fee of around 1000 pounds but it doesn’t seem to be enforced
@Thinkforyourself1234 no, they claim benefits instead
Well said
"Free health care" when many Britons can't get any health care from GPs / dentists/ hospitals!🤦♀️
NHS rather spend millions on DEI than spending on important things.
I’m sick off the NHS there are far too many people in this country they will treat foreigners before they treat the people who pay the taxes
God help us if we become sick I don’t drive anymore or my husband were elderly and not in the best of health what do we do if we’re ill
If it's an emergency you ring a ambulance, nothing has changed.
@@JulieCawthraPrivate Pike: 'How we gonna get em to hospital?' Ambulance drivers / regiment - awol. Cheshire cadets - too young to drive!
What do ya suggest?'
Captain Mainwaring: 'Keep it in family'.
They do because the interpreters are there so we get pushed to the back even when the come in hours later than you they go first.
No free NHS for non British citizens. If you go anywhere in the world you would need to pay.
Exactly!!
Simple. Birthday rate in UK is 1.4 per family. In last 20 years 10 million have migrated or invaded here.
It's called demand has exceeded supply.
Many happy returns 😂
When i trained as a nurse 40 years ago ,if people turned up with pain this was investigated to find out the cause. Now people in pain are told what it might be given pain killers and sent ontheir way .This happened to my niece ,agonising abdominal pain ,soon as the doctor found she worked with children said it was a bug .2 more trips to a&e later someone decided to investigate, she has ovarian cysts .
The NHS . So good that no other country has copied it.
Greatest empire...200 years in India ...😅
Get rid of pen pushers and bring back the matrons, they ran hospitals with a fist of steel, even Doctors were in fear of them.
Matrons themselves have become another layer of management, this is what the public don't seem to understand. THEY don't see the patients ,let alone know their nursing staff ,and are office bound
Even the patients were scared of them.
This is so common now, and once you arrive - they ignore you, and you wait for hours..........
As a retired nurse I was horrified by my care after a major operation last year.We need to go the continental route to finance the NHS properly ,but god forbid that we end up with American providers.
ITS AN DISGRACE TO OUR UK PEOPLE
I have MS, blacked out twice. The Ambulance didn't turn up; this happened twice and now I have given up.
Im so sorry to hear that ,its shocking how bad the NHS is!
Complaint to hospital resulted in them saying I lied about the promise of transport.....
i had to drive myself to hospital while having an heart attack over three years ago when i was told an abulance would be over two hours
That’s so dangerous.
In many areas, the UK is simply a society in disarray.
A disarray caused by inept and downright incompetent politicians.
Christine, stop making excuses for them. This isnt incompetence, it is spite, it is calculated, it is pure evil.
you can get a human rights lawyer quicker than am ambulance
The NHS does not need more money!.
It doesn’t I agree. It just needs to have an efficiency check and weed out the non-essentials.
The land of the freebie.
Priority.
If heart attack patients have to wait 2 hours, how come the person with mental health problems who needs a plaster doesn't have to wait 2 hours.
While the amount of people in this country keeps getting bigger and bigger.... we are stuffed
You are so right, the more people come in, they are getting free treatment, the infrastructure to account for all of these is not there! The amount of nurses doing the degree but using it to do other jobs is phenomenal! There are also infinite amount of managers, under managers and matrons who are not needed!
Lost all confidence in our health service. Do the British feel safe anymore? But asylum centres have doctors on call
That's so sad all that wait so sad .they just don't care anymore .
During lockdown hospitals were instructed to push DNRs on any disabled adults who came into hospitals. I prayed that my son did not get sick, it was terrifying.
Yeah my partner is a ward manager and can confirm that's true. They also quite often refused to attend
No free NHS till you have worked and paid NI for at least 5 years in this country
An old couple near me he with dementia she blind fell and broke her pelvis a carer I know got to her 10am her son was phoned and informed, the son got on a plane in Dubai flew to Birmingham airport hired a car drove 80 miles to Hereford and as he arrived at his parents house that NIGHT 10 minutes later an ambulance arrived, that was yesterday,
Just so shocking - and entirely believable.
It's like everything else in this country beyond broken
So agree. NHS is not fit for service
We need to start again with the NHS
That rainbow is really inappropriate as well. Not relevant.
My mum called an ambulance and waited 12 hours for them to come. She spent three weeks in the hospital when she finally got there.
words fail me, no one is prepared to deal with this
We have imported thousands to help our NHS why hasnt them jobs been all filled up by now
Ambulance took 8 hours the other day after a colleague was taken ill. Turns out he had a heart attack. 8 hours to respond to a heart attack!!!!!!
Been waiting 3 yrs for a simple operation. But then I am white British, so that says it all.
Couple of years ago we went to see my partners elderly mother and she had quite a nasty head injury from a fall she’d had, neither myself or partner can drive and when we called for an ambulance we were told the same thing about trying to make our own way to hospital too.
My Doctor's surgery no longer allows appointments either by phone or in person at the surgery, online only, tried to make appointment
a week ago online, gave up after half an hour of insurmountable obstacles put before me. Surgery claims the new system is for the
benefit of it's patients, which of course is complete b------s
I had to literally fight my husbands cardio vascular surgeon to persuade him my husband deserved surgary, I had to sob my heart out and tell him he has paid tax ALL his life worked hard paid his dues and that if he died his ENTIRE family would be effected plus my entire family, plus all the people he does work for. Surgeon gave in in the end and appologised to us, he didn't manage to clear the blockage in his leg, the by pass didnt work he nearly died twice in 48 hours , BUT he still has his leg and is in les pain and discomfort now the Surgeon is desperate to LOP his bloody leg off. I just cant anymore.
My 93 year old Dad was ill waited 7hrs hours for ambulance this is after his Doctor arranged a bed on a ward and ambulance to pick him up he was taken to AE he was put in a chair no trollies we waited 3 hours then seen they put in a canula as he needed intravenous antibiotics, 2 hours later staff came out and told everybody we are sorry we have no Doctors for 12hrs or not one free bed in the hospital your not guarantee to be seen so my poor Dad couldnt sit any longer we went home at 5.30am 2 days later they found him a bed. 😮shocking
How many home trained doctors have left for richer pastures? Train them for free but make them stay 5 or 10 years
there's is manager in the health services who have not have a clue
My wife phoned 999 for an ambulance because my Heartbeat went down to 32BPM and one never turned up!. My GP told me it is better to go to Walsall Hospital so we did by taxi and they kept me waiting for 6 hours and when they called me in, the Heart specialist could not even be bothered to come and see me!.
The nhs dont care 😢
Took them 2 year to put my husband down for a two valve replacement that was classed as critical he went in for his pre op and told we will call you in within 6 weeks again you are a critical list 6 weeks approached they called him in.... we are not going ahead with surgery as we think it won't help this is after a surgeon gave go ahead...... they are leaving him to die
@@GloriaL28 It is not so much the NHS, it is the consecutive governments who are determined to privatize the NHS!.The NHS can only work with the tools they have!.
The whole thing is heartbreaking
Who gave the NHS Permission to use actors to advertise and make a film about the flu jab and how much did it cost to make the films .of which there a a few .
Labour and Starmer are making it worse.
DEI fails, always has done, always will do.
It's almost as if the NHS is no longer a first world service.
I wonder what happened?
Too many people in the UK now so not enough capacity to treat everyone
The issues for the NHS started with Thatcher reducing the number of beds in local hospitals and closing down Cottage Hospitals. Subsequent Governments like Blair’s adopted Care in the Community without appropriate accommodation or Carers, then Local Councils closed Care Homes because they couldn’t afford the upkeep. Now all they want to do is take care of illegal immigrants, prisoners etc whilst our own, people who have worked their whole life and paid into the system are constantly at the back of the queue for everything. Labour & Conservative politicians just feel that they have an entitlement to be in Government. Bring on 2029, Reform win the General Election and Nigel Farage is PM bringing Britain back into reality. 🤞🤞🤞
Woke NHS , Go woke go broke
Arabs fighting Arabs fighting Arabs, nothing changes.
My wife is in A&E waited 2 hrs for a ambulance got two calls would you be able to take her myself she had been vomiting poo due to an obstruction in her bowel
24 hrs later she’s still waiting to get on to a surgical ward she hasn’t eaten in two days
She a nurse who needs help so she can get back to helping others
The people at the coal face are trying to help with both hands tied behind their backs
I am white, i feel ethnic now!
i listen to bollywood hindi music . cant tolerate this new modern uk music
What the hell is positive discrimination?????
We have had relatives of immigrants who have had their status granted….and they are allowed to bring in 6 members of their family to help with their family life…. And then the relatives of them are allowed into the country to receive health care…. And yet we have waiting lists of taxpayers who have paid into the system since they turned 16 … they are waiting to get examined fo signs of life changing illnesses….. not treatment…..
diagnosis…..
The nhs has been bleed dry a long with everything else
we treat the world from our health service.
My daughter has just paid for private consultation and urgent operation. I am so depressed about this country.
I have a photo of my grandfather in Gallipoli just prior to being taken as a prisoner of war. I wonder if he came back now, he would think it was all worth it.
I have a photo of my grandparents in the cane fields as indentured slaves for some British lord 😅😅
I am 68 and can tell you that anyone over 65 in my area is put on the DNR protocoll. If it wasn't for my friend I may no longer be here. Thank goodness I am out of there. I was moved 4 times as I was deemed contagious.....
An hour and a half to park if you are lucky!!!!
And i heard. They called in a private contractor to change ONE, 3 foot tube light for £200!!.... Unbelievable....Again Tax payers money being wasted...
My son got sent home & was told he is nothing wrong with him, he is on medical equipment & from 4 A&E’s round this country, it does not need more money, it needs shutting down, my son is still poorly, the doctors have failed in their duty & broken the Care Act 2022. What we’ve witnessed & all we interviewed is a disgrace, our homeless go to hospital for food and a roof and we have people on alcohol that is causing other patients suffering, our elderly are being abused just as bad as my son. The ambulance services 15 hours waiting time, which means my son can go in one due to his ventilator. It’s disgusting
I had to drive my mother with a brain tumour it disabled her right side but the gp sent us away to call ambulance with a suspected diagnosed stroke. We sat in ae for 17 hours. We lost her 2 months after. The whole experience was traumatising. Even her care till the end was poorly.
