Pretty Slick build , I was thinking the same thing about building them as gifts i worked over 20 years at a pretty large Architectual Woodworking outfit and the nice thing about that is i can still get free off cuts of sheet goods and the company as a rule always uses top quality materials like Baltic Birch Plywood , the good stuff, not the import stuff that the big box stores sell my extended family does have a lot of professional drummers and i like the fact that your design will fit on a standard drum stand on past projects ive used a lot of Birch and Poplar woods ive also been developing my own translucent stains that have kind of a type dye 1960s look to them and i think that doing a Snare Drum like that would be a big hit pun intended with that 60s kind of vibe btw some of those relatives do live close to the actual Woodstock location in New York and actually have ties to some of the performers from the festival
That is wicked cool! My son started to play the snare drum in school band, so this is definitely a project we will build together! Thanks for sharing this!!!!
Excellent presentation!! Your finished snare cajon sounds and looks great!! I like the effects of you on your guitar superimposed next to you on your cajon!! I love modern technology!!
nice build. i don't know if i could last long if the kids went all over the house banging on the drum....lol. well maybe that would force me to stay in the shop longer....maybe i will build one.
Master!!!, hug of Uruguay.

This is a great project to involve my daughters!
Thanks!!
Great, have fun!
Loved the building but also the music at the end. You are super talented man!! Thanks for sharing
:)
Thank you so much!
As a drummer, I wonder if solid maple, solid birch, or mahogany would allow an enhanced sound.
Yeah i feel like we're the only ones in here concerned about the sound of plywood
thanks for sharing the process
Thanks for watching!
Wow i love it
Supper sweet!
+Wood By Wright thanks James!
Crafted Workshop love your videos man great job one day you will have great number of suscribers
+Adarsh Abraham thanks man!
Adarsh Abraham did you sub

Nice work! That was some next level editing by the way.
ZH Fabrications thanks man! First time doing the whole split screen thing.
Nice project! My son wants to build one now. We will be. Channeling your inner Jay Bates towards the end there hahaha
Nice! That’s great. Tag me if you post it on social media when you’re done. And yes, that split screen is a little tough to pull off!
Nice ... 😍😍😍 so creative😊
Thanks!
that was a really nice build. can your snare adjust with out a screw gun. would be nice it have a knob for fast adjust
No, you do have to remove the top to adjust the snare. That said, you can just flip the snare over and play the bottom, as it has no snare contact.
that works if I can find any time I would like to build one.
Lyda Shop it was a really quick build, only took me an afternoon! Have fun.
Very cool build!!!
+Thom spillane thanks Thom!
Nice build! Looks like you've got a great start to band!
+Joshua Luther thanks Josh!
just fyi, that also could be built only 2" deep with the same effect.
Nice project! Excellent video as well! Thanks for sharing! :)
+Heath Knuckles thanks Heath!
My name is Heath
good way to get rid of some scraps!
+Joe basementwoodworking indeed!
nice build. i don't know if i could last long if the kids went all over the house banging on the drum....lol. well maybe that would force me to stay in the shop longer....maybe i will build one.
Hah yea I wouldn't have built this if I had kids! It is pretty loud.
NICE
Cool!
Cool thing!
+Bruce A. Ulrich thanks Bruce!
Nice!
Thanks Stavros!
You should get the other Johnny to do your sanding. Awesome build and video.
That other Johnny is such a slacker! :) Thanks!
Yeah, I've never seen him in your shop. Pretty handy on the guitar though.
Spareroom Woodworking hah, indeed!
Very interesting drum and sounds good. Like! Good luck!!!
What are your thoughts on the Incra ĹS Positioner table saw fence?
+Godwin Oliver O. Delica I really liked it, great system.
interesting hex shape!!
+Cactus! workshop thanks!
Great build, but the drum is octagonal, not hexagonal.
pinch my eyes, I was blind :P
Great video, definitely doing this! Cajun is actually African. Common misconception.
Look really great, but sounds like empty wood box - or perhaps wrong microphone setup....
Yea it was very hard to mic. Sounds a lot better in person.
What software do you use to draw your designs?
SketchUp, it's a free program.
perfect, thank you! nice work by the way, i'll be trying a lot of these projects.
+Tyler Coon thanks!
Make a full cajon drumset with stands and everything
And give it to me.
+Eston Playz And Stuff hah probably not but thanks for watching.
sad you can't holde time at all :D did sound pretty good though.
Tip: use the damn whole on the side for the microphone as if it’s the whole for a bass drum
Hole*
Plastic bucket gives the same sound :))
Eh, the video doesn't do the sound justice. Hard to mic.
you're so handsome!
Didn't hear the snare. sounded like a cardboard box. That was a lot of work for that.
+darrel anderson hard to mic, it has a ton of snare sound in person.
You and I are the same person.
Maybe it's your playing, but that sounds terrible!
Cool!
