The Desert Flower is a masterpiece. The artistic value alone makes it worth the price.
Bs thise things are labor intensive and done by volunteer crews you wont buy one for less than 200k
actually-I tried to buy one in Colorado a few years ago and it was only $180k. No conventional loan would take it-and it came with 5 acres and a garage out building.
Where are they listed for these prices? I don't see a single one under $250K when I look.
Yeah that first one is like $800k. Clickbait! 😢
Hes going by ptices when most were built over a decade ago.
That was probably what it cost to make them.
@@NetraAmorosi I easily saw $4k of wood in the first 5 seconds of the video. I had 1000sqft of concrete pour for $3k. Add in a $13k well and $5k septic system
I've stayed in them at Taos. You can rent by the night.
Very nice. It's a shame you can't mass produce them or replicate in a city setting.
There are earthships in cities in Australia.
Yea, some states won't even let you collect rainwater, claiming that they own all the water that falls on your property!
Love Earth ship, love to see
That last home is mind blowing!!! I adore how the living room has a very similar architecture as the Enterprise-D. All of these homes are amazing and I'd buy any one of them. What are the round, shiny discs in the walls...are those glass or metal? They're so cool!
But they are like 500k or more love the idea
glass bottles
I've seen a few of these on other videos, I'm suprised at the low cost of these. So much work goes into making them.
Those are not the sale prices. I don't know where he got these prices. Maybe these prices were what they cost to build several years ago?
@@30dayride67Nah, they are rare, but also really isolated.
The Santa Fe, one is my favorite! Keep Orange Crushing It, Kyle! Also, have an awesome weekend!
it is awesome thanks as always!
Great video, except some of the prices are missing a zero
All those toxic tires in the walls would be a deal breaker for me. I couldn't see having all those toxic metals leaching into my living space the longer I lived there.
hi Kyle nice homes and beautiful also different hope you were safe out there 🙏🙏 it is nice to hear about the homes hope to see more videos ❤️ you thanks for sharing you are so great with your videos you do a good job
Thanks so much! How have you been!?
Dick Clark lived in a home with this organic kind of feel architecture.
I Say!! A Home 🏘️ Are A Home.. Regardless What Kind Of Home It Is.
Nice looking home 🏡 I wish I could get one but I can't because I can't afford it. John E. May-0 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ive followed these projects for quite a few years and if there was ever a house that you built for living in for the rest of your life, these are them. So im really curious as to why so many are on the market. Unless its just because so many want to leave this country.
Not only how many but how inexpensive they seem. I don't know the market but the ones in New Mexico seem cheap compared to what I would expect.
Edit: I just looked it up. Vallecitos was listed for $825,000, reduced from $912,000. I'd say that's a slight difference from the video price of $88,000.
Either the channel doesn't care about facts or is blatantly ignoring them.
Because living off grid is harder than many want.
Oh sure 20 to 50 n the markets just proves how many want to leave america......you wouldn't make it in one. Commonsense is a must to live in these.
@@lunarminx I would make it, but i can see these rich people realizing the 'inconvienance' of being ethical and the day to day running of such a home. It would be heaven for me, except for the location. Desert isnt very cat friendly.
@@rogermccaslin5963those prices are more in line with what I have observed. I was shocked to see prices 80% cheeper than the Taos area has offered. This has to be AI driven.
you assign a $ amount to these homes ... was that the cost to build or the cost to purchase?
prices are fake.
I like the Santa Fe house
I'd love to know more about the building process on these.
I don't see any information that Brighton Earthship is for sale. It's a part of the university and permaculture trust , so the likelihood is slim that it would be for sale... Does anybody have any information on this? Is Brighton Earthship really for sale??? I know a family who are struggling to find the right living space and would love to live there!!!
Nice buildings but the stated prices are not even on the same planet.
thank you what about rammed earth homes
Loved it
thanks Lisa I appreciate it!
Doesn’t car tires let off gases?
For sale? I would like to own one.
yes and fairly cheaply
Yeah... i do not think those prices are correct. maybe the price to build them with a lot of free volunteer labor. but there is no way those are the purchase prices in 2024
agreed
Same holway
How do I begin the process to purchase one of these of Taos?
Contact earthship biotecture in Taos. I'm sure they'll know who to contact. It's a small community out there.
Is there a website
Wow
See what Eirex Tech does for waste plastic and any type of water as fuel competing with oil.
Seriously!
Hmm, so if we are claiming to save the Earth why are not Earth-ships everywhere?
That’s true and I’m not sure most people would want to live in one
Ask your city planner. Cities and those who profit from the grid do not like these homes/buildings because it means humans are more self sufficient. There's no money in that! Just imagine having no utility bills ever again! And never losing power just because of a storm or the grid going down. I've worked on these homes. They use far less water than other homes because they recycle the water so much. You can grow bananas and fig trees in your in-home greenhouse, right next to your kitchen. They are incredible!
@@kylemcgran Go visit them. They are awesome, unless you prefer beige cookie cutter houses (which is ok too)
Building codes .
@@kylemcgranI imagine most people actually would want to live in one if they knew the benefits and weren't interested in living in a highrise or dense cityscape.
No grocery stores...
If it is so good ..WHY ARE THEY ( the owners) SELLING THEM??????
What a strange question.. is someone selling their home a new concept to you? You realize people die, move, and an infinite number of other things, right?
Where's the prices.
I can't find them at cheap prices.
Are they still making these??? Can I get info by
Mike Reynolds th-cam.com/video/NCa10uee9Ro/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8CaRm2X1tlFxHc39
Yea. Pricing not real.
The prices are way off. May when they were built over a decade ago.
*century
these prices are outdated and basically are meaningless. Plus it's a video of stil photos. kinda lame
But they are like 500k or more love the idea
You should visit the place. They exist and are amazing.
Prices are COMPLETELY WRONG!!
@@Deutschtown Prices are what people are willing to pay.
Houses are still objects
These cost a minimum of 500K to build. Most if not all of these images are proprietary. Alosha's are not even related to these structures.
Why are all of these TH-cam famous earth ships for sale all of a sudden? What happened to the people running them? They just all decided to quit or relocate and sell at the same time?
Why so cheap?
Water?
The build is a lot of recycled materials!
they left labor out of the equations. also, most seem to have been built in the 70s so they arent really that cheap.
Water is usually rainwater harvesting. The houses usually are set up to use the grey water for the greenhouse.
They have water catchment on the roof and recycle the water several times, meaning you have grey water in your toilets. But the water in sinks, shower and washing machine are fresh and filtered water. The garden cells in the greenhouse are used to filter water from sinks and then it goes out to a leach field in the front yard where you could grow fruit trees. The system is pretty amazing. Yes, the homes require some maintenance but they don't require heating or cooling from a power company or water from a well or city infrastructure. They have been very well thought out. They just continue to improve.
The poster lied on the prices. He made us all assume those were today's prices. Some where built 20 plus years ago and many 15 plus years.
Beautiful, but your idea of very cheap is off.
...forget a 0 on each price. I wish all homes, especially these, could be under $100k.
I watch all your videos with fascination, but this one........me no likey. It is a testament to the people who think ugly is beauty. But that's my opinion and remember opinions are like lawyers, everybody has one.
I don't have a lawyer.
@@SentBack1978 Neither do I.
When i see people use tires in construction, i can't help but think of the fire risk.
The tires are rammed and surrounded by earth. Not sure if possible to ignite.
They aren't exposed. I would trust this home in California more than most other home designs. I worked on some earthships. They are amazing. Especially the newer ones.
Don't throw out that trash why not build yourself a home with it , inspectors love that and will allow it in all states ,😂.that milk cartin can be a window . That old tire part of a wall . Those used diapers can become insulation .
Gee, I wonder why they're so cheap?
hah, bs on the cheap title
Looks like rattlesnake land.
I was going to subscribe and like this video, but then when I see these prices he is quoting are complete nonsense, I felt like this was stupid clickbait and I had to give it a thumbs down and remove my subscribe. I don't know why you even did that
This Earth Ship idea is old hat, it was tried before and failed miserably, the people inside, instead of getting along fought constantly, also instead of staying in the so called Earth Ship, snuck out and went into the near by town, to purchase pizza and beer, they were caught and the entire venture was shut down. The only thing these types of endeavors create is money for the sponsors.
Not true.
thanks Nicole!!
