The reason they don't want you to have a couch or bean bags is almost certainly because of the possibility of bed bugs. Those things spread like wildfire in a dorm. They'd probably let you have wood/plastic furniture if you can find/afford it, or maybe even a normal couch if you could prove that it was brand new and store bought...although there are obvious cost issues there.
I laughed all through todays' TDR...from 'the universe did't want me doing lat pulldowns today' to not wanting to confront the dude that cut you from the comedy show....but that is EXACTLY what i would have done....emailed or spoken in person regarding what you could have done different to get into the CC. Glad you got outside on another beautiful day. I drove across NY and along the way had the good fortune to have a bald eagle do a fly-by in front of my car! Love the gym stories. Those kind of connections and small circles get to be more complex and even amazing as you move through life. Continue to be an observant human. So many people miss all that is going on around. In sum, I have found these things to be, on the whole, more joyful than stressful. Glad to hear the sofa has a place to chill.
Tate, When you audition and don't get a part, it's important to remember that it's often not because of your talent, it's just that the director has a very particular vision and you simply don't fit it. For an improv group, it could be that you remind them of someone they can't stand, or that you're too attractive for comedy in their minds or they feel threatened by your talent, you can't know and it doesn't matter, because you are talented and there is space for it. Lead on, good man.
My RA at university met with us early on and made it clear that "if we didn't **** with him, he would not **** with us." I never saw him again for the whole year.
Keep your classes and studying ar the top of your list. Cut anything that interferes with that priority. Don't be satisfied with just "passing " the classes.
Good job on not approaching him at the gym. That's respectful. Typically, the ropes get pilled somewhere out of sight or underneath other things. It's weird. As for inspectors coming in unexpectedly might be "reasonable" but disrespectful. If you want someone to respect your rules, respect their time.
Yeah, that is an interesting optical aberration, when you move your arm which is on the right side of my video I could see a ghost image of your arm on the left side of my screen doing the same action but in the opposite horizontal direction like a bad mirror.
Just keep on auditioning. They will never tell you what’s wrong or right. There could be many different reasons that had nothing to do with you. Think of an audition as a “performance.” Watch other comedians. Study their style their personalities. Learn why certain gags go over and WHY THEY DONT. One day, you’ll know. Then, you’re in business.
We're having nice weather too. Supposed to be in the 80's the next 6 days. In Canada!! Love this global warming. Keep burning those fossil fuels, people!
