In your country you have many different ways of making soil, I like to see how others do it around the world. I like the hanging basket idea. Coconut fiber is expensive here in the US so I use cardboard strips soaked in water to line the bottom and it works well. I make my own soil using peat moss, perlite and vermiculite with slow release fertilizer.
@@mitooquerer it would take me forever to save enough corn silk but it looked similar to to coconut fiber I was using for orchid plants. Cardboard is also great for a compost pile. The recycling type not coated kind.
I like the idea of using wet cardboard as a liner, that is very clever (it reminds me of when I was a kid and we did flour, water mixture and newspaper strips over a balloon, then when dry, pop the balloon and you have a firm shape to paint). Sometimes the Dollar Tree sells a coco.fiber bowls and they also have the hanging baskets which is a wire base to hold the coco.fiber bowl they sell. It comes with hanging chain that is quite descent. Recently I saw some large hanging baskets at Walmart that were double the size from Dollartree and less than 7 dollars each but they were plastic/sturdy, so different material all together but I liked the size. Anyway, this provides other options for those who aren't as crafty.
Thank you for your patience documenting this from start to finish. It's very informative particularly to the tropical countries like Philippines. There's no way a person will starve, if only a person is resourceful and not a slacker😉😆. Thanks again, more power to your channel & God bless you 🙏❤️
Tatsoi will grow if you don't cut it like that. Just gow around and pick the lower leaves and allow the plant to continue growing. Eventually, you will have to cut it down but that is after several months of producing continuous growth.
I have used moss from garden path then soil which I have bought for appropriate plants.. Ericaceous for lime haters. Etc also I've used old polythene shopping bags make holes on an off all round put in basket fill with soil put plants in where he's are add some gel crystals. Helps when it's hot. Feed plants every so often and atch them grow!

Great idea! Just right for me! I’m on a search for the baskets. Few of this size are to be found. Some ideas on where to find are appreciated. Thank you so much for the video!
You are ahead of your time, thank you for showing how to be sustainable
You should plant each container 2 weeks apart so they dont all come ripe at once.
Nice idea.
But this will make growing season go ....... btw nice idea👍

What do you use as pest control
The birds would be thrilled if I set up a fly by buffet. I'll have to make a few adjustments, but I love this!
A fly by buffet ! Ha! Great idea i wana feed the squirrels too
I live in S. Florida the iguanas would definitely love the free buffet..

One of my favorite vegetables. Beautiful job. I like ideas that use vertical growing conditions and save space.
I did lettuces this year in hanging baskets and no pests and beautiful lettuces. I won’t grow it any other way ever!
What seeds used to grow lettuce?
Can you tell me what kind of lettuce that is? It's unfamiliar to me?
This looks to be spinach not lettuce ❤️😀

I was thinking the same, but I believe he also wanted to show how beautiful final produce is - great job and so inspiring!
Maybe he sells it.
There isn't a lot of soil there...maybe it simply wears out and it's easier to start over...? But yes, I don't cut the head if I have time and space.
What is the name of this vegetable
How many days it take to grow
Hooray, WONDERFUL ways to plant and grow - what a great idea, THANK YOU for making this video, I'm definitely going to save it! 😄🥰
I really wish all the gardening channels would mention in their bio section, where in the country they are.
Viet Nam! 👍

Allow it to keep it growing by just cutting off lower leaves or you can put the root ends of them in water and they will grow another plant.
Thank you for this informative video. You are so wise, creative, innovative & love your attention to details ❤️

I was just wondering if I could grow in strainers or baskets with holes. GREAT!!!
I'm thinking this could work over winter in front of a window. Just would have to use a bucket or something to catch water.
This is wonderful information! As I am in an apartment I've been wondering how I could grow food my own food. 🥬Thank you so much.
