  • Durga Puja is a major Hindu festival celebrated in India, particularly in the state of West Bengal, as well as in other parts of the country and around the world. It honors the goddess Durga, who symbolizes the divine feminine power. The festival typically spans nine days and involves elaborate rituals, cultural performances, and grand processions.
During Durga Puja, beautifully crafted idols of the goddess Durga and other deities are installed in elaborately decorated pandals (temporary structures) where worshippers gather to offer prayers and seek her blessings. The festival is marked by cultural programs, traditional dances, music, and delicious food.
On the final day, known as Vijayadashami, the idols are immersed in rivers or water bodies, signifying the departure of the goddess and the triumph of good over evil. Durga Puja is a time of joy, togetherness, and a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Bengal.
