Plan on doing an unboxing video this weekend on my new Esee 4. It’s been hard waiting all week to open the box!! Probably do a compare to my Esee 3 and Esee 6!
I have a number of Esee's and recently bought a 6 with the 3d natural micarta scales.. do not have a 4 maybe I get the S35vn for something different?? I have lots of brands of knives (Benchmade / Falkniven / Tops etc..) if I could only have 1 knife brand or 1 knife it would be one of my Esee's.. there is just something about them that hits the spot for me. Thanks for the review Baz!!
I love my 6, but I gotta give it to the 4. It gives you everything you like about the 6, just more compact. That said, I really do think the 4 needs the extended scales to really reach its full potential. And I love the S35vn option. I would love to get a 6 in S35vn as well.

I'm sure there is a reason for it, but the short handle on the 4 just didn't work for me. Props the TKC on the extended scales though. The fit is perfect, easy to install, and they are solid feeling.
@@BazonBlades i use the s35vn esee 4 to fish and hunt and man what a difference the tkc scales made. Its a necessary upgrade imo, the factory contoured g10 scales are a bit slick and undersized especially after holding other 4 inch blade knives, the balance is also better with longer scales
@ Kreuzer - my thought is that they just took the Esee 3 and said lets make the blade longer and thicker and that was it. For me that doesn't work either, I think they should have put more design thought into it and designed a scaled down version of the Esee 6 and made the blade 5/32" as well, would have been a much better all rounder then.
@@crvzer The best knife I own, is a Massdrop/ WE knives, Gavco Thresher, it was made in China,, the quality is absolute sheer perfection, So nobody can knock Chinese knives, based on the quality aspect,.. If you want to get into "oppression" and politics, then that's a different ball game,,
Actually, yes.....I am still loving the 4. Especially with the TKC extended scales. In fact, I think I like it better than the 6. It gives the same performance but in a more compact size.
I just went and looked. These aren't listed for the 4 right now. But I did also try other models and saw some were in stock. So I don't think the material has been discontinued. Maybe they are in the habit of taking down listings when they are out of stock. I would just give them a quick call or maybe an email to check the status of that micarta option for the 4 extended scales.
@@BazonBlades Looks like Esee 3 ones may fit. I don't have an Esee 3 to compare but it looks more pointy on the bottom. Perhaps a touch with a dremel if needed would make this happen.

Thanks for the video, Baz. It's too bad that ESEE doesn't make the handle longer rather than having to rely on lengthened scales.

I have a tan blade Esee 4 with TKC mil spec camo scales.
That "4" looks like a sweet knife,, stainless is the way to go,,, imho,,
I love that ESEE is doing stuff in S35vn now. If they did a 6 to match I would snatch it up like a free bag of $$$'s.

Esee 5 or 6 in s35vn?
For me it would be the 6. The 5 is a little thick for me.
ESEE 5 and 6 are not offered in S35VN. Ontario knives does have a RAT 6 that is in S35VN that might scratch your itch 😊
