Maru and Hero is the best matchup for me. Really good rivalry tho I have to admit, Maru usually wins. Gosh I miss Indra and Huk as well.
Too bad neither seems competitive to Serral these days.
I love PigCasts so much I will rewatch a series I have seen just for the pigentary. Well, that and the crippling sc2 addiction. GG’s!

Great analysis, Pig. Watching live, I didn't realize how clever Hero's build was in game 2. You also helped me understand what went wrong for Hero in game 4.

Maru is like 5 percent worse than his best right now. Yet he's still the best Terran in the world when it comes to playing from behind, making a comeback, and defense.
Taking the gold base on dynasty is always a bad idea unless you keep the aggression on the other side of the map.

I think the problem for herO vs Maru is the same problem for Maru vs Serral, they've lost to the other so much they get in their own heads. Especially Maru when he faces Serral, something akin to the Mike Tyson effect before he had his first loss, he was so scary most fighters had lost mentally before the fight even started. It's sad because I've seen Maru beat Serral before and I've seen him wipe the floor with so many other top Zergs and whilst Serral may be the best of the best of the top Zergs Maru should not be getting swept 4-0 with ease by him in the Finals of major tournaments.
I think differently. Maru had beaten Dark (another giant Zerg) a day before in a completely different playstyle and mentality, despite suffering game-ending damages he still fought back and won games. Against Zerral, he just simply gave away the match without any attempts to try. Even Oliveria got Serral a hard game though
Not really. her0 losing to Maru partly because Protoss is a fucked up race at top level. Maru losing to Serral because Serral often outplays him (and everybody else).
@@lahancodon Protoss is suck against Terran and it is true. Serral is the best player in the world now, it is true as well. But if you said he would beat Maru 4-0 twice in the final then either Maru was sick or sold the match...
You are absolutely right. Serral got in his head. Maru's TvZ is better on paper than Oliveira's, and yet Oli nearly beat Serral, whereas Maru actually looked scared of him and played so timidly. Oliveira basically played like how Maru usually does.
@ZCasavant Maru beat Serral several times in the past, so you can't say he is afraid of Serral to the extent that he couldn't grab even a single match out of 8 times encounter. Looking back, he also lost to Olivera in Championship final, where he was definite favor to win...
Her0 made that mistake because he doesn't have a professional coach like you... Pig, you're absolutely right... but reach out to him gently if you want to help him improve... be careful about hurting his feelings because he's going to be super sensitive to the slightest criticism... just tell him you want to help... honestly because the whole community wants to see him get past these hills everyone has to learn to get through to improve... and we can't wait to see him when he does it
If you keep subtly pressing that you'll help him because the community is hopefully waiting for him to succeed, he'll slowly start listening to your advice... he'll never hear what you're saying when you talk to him like this though... just talk to him
37:00 Immortals are no more expensive paperweights at shooting Marines than Stalkers are. They're pretty close to just being two Stalkers stapled together but slower and with massive bonus damage to armour. Heavier on the normal hit points than on shields.
It's a much better deal than Marauders, where one Marauder deals the same damage as one Marine while costing twice as much, and equaling two Marines' damage output against armoured targets. With Immortals, you get two Stalkers in one package, plus extra.

Right, which is actually a critical, game-changing difference. Speed is one of the most important stats in the game because when a faster unit fights a slower unit, the faster unit can always disengage instead of dying, but the slower unit can't.
Stalkers are an extremely expensive unit for their stats. The only thing that makes them worth making is that they are very fast and slippery -- you can't kill them. They generate value over time by poking and disengaging and never ever dying.
Immortals can't disengage freely the way stalkers can and that makes them a _much_ worse unit vs marines. They can't poke at a critical mass of marines like stalkers can because the marine ball can just stim, catch, and kill them.
