- On October 7th, I would take the opportunity to film Essex's normal operation before the 2-day Dak Dillon Photography charter. The engine being used was Valley Railroad 97. 97 was rebuilt in 2018 and hadn't seen too much use outside of the North Pole Express trips, so it being on the normal trains was a nice treat!
Nice videoing. I remember watching Valley Railroad #97 in the last of the three Lots and Lots of Trains films back then before. I also highly recommend you should watch all three of the Lots and Lots of Trains films. They are amazing, I wanna say.
Awesome! I never tire watching #97!
She's a great engine!
Nice!
Thanks!
I’m very happy that the valley railroad has brought 97 back to operating condition being one of the two original locomotives besides the larger number 40 I’m glad they decided to place her back into service and now we have three operating steam locomotives the 97 40 and the larger and newer 3025 which was former Knox and Kane 1658 which was acquired by the valley Railroad in a twist of fate starting with a F1 twister that knocked out the high trestle bridge probably my favorite thing about engine 97 is for distinctive New Haven railroad six chime whistle and I found out it was a New Haven six chime from the Mark 1 video documentary about the valley Railroad
