    I will be 60 years old in October. I remember dancing and Roller skating to this song many times in my Youth. In reunions my Class of 1982 still dance to this song.

    This song was a sort of an anthem in the 70’s as it was used in a popular commercial for ABC (American Broadcasting Company). Instantly puts me back at that time in the late 70’s.

    I was at a wedding where Larry Hoppen was a guest. Almost everyone there was a musician. Larry was asked to sing and he sang this song and everyone said "no that song sucks." They were teasing because it was such a successful hit. A friend of my husband was the drummer for Orleans until the early 80s.

      That’s awesome. I’m a lead guitarist and have been playing for over 60 years and in bands most of my life. Orleans is one of the most underrated bands of all time. The band I was in during the 70’s did Let there be Music. Some of their best songs are album tracks that never had air play.

    This song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 on July 31, 1976 and it peeked at number 5 and took 18 weeks on the chart; I was in High School when this song was being played on the radio.

    Ah the sweet harmonized dual guitar solo and background fills. A bunch of 70's groups had that element going on, but not something that you see too much anymore. Fantastic vocal harmonies. So good! 😊

    That's just how deep the pool of musical talent was in the 70s--Orleans is a much lesser known band, yet the quality was still top tier!

    John Hall from this band became a congressman from New York. Also had a solo career. His song 'Crazy' made the rounds on early MTV. He's a decent guitar player, too.

    This song was such a big hit when it came out that ABC used it on the commercials advertising their fall tv schedule, changing it to "you're still having fun and we're still the one".

      Yes. That's when ABC was the #1 network in the country. When their Tuesday Night line-up consisted of "Happy Days," "LaVerne & Shirley," "Three's Company" and other shows on different nights. Also, one of my TV Specials, "Battle Of The Network Stars" with Howard Cosell.

    ABC used this song to promote their network from 1977 to 1979. They used it on the promotions for all their new upcoming shows. You can see the commercials here on TH-cam. My sister had the album this was originally from (Waking and Dreaming) where they all pose shirtless and it always made me giggle because one of the guys seemed to be pointing to one of the other guy's nipples.
