Whenever I question why Valentino is so influential/powerful despite being a relative newcomer compared to Vox and Alastor, I remember that Dave Chapelle bit about "Pimp" by Iceberg Slim, and I realize that it's because Val was dealing in overlord-level evil before he even died.

I admittedly don't know a lot of backstory for these characters but looking at them objectively, Vox seems to be an embodiment of the power and influence of technology, while Valentino seems to be an embodiment of the power and influence of sex and drugs. Technology would give someone A LOT of power to be sure, but compare that to Valentino's domains. :\

I think Vox is just talking trash. It might also be a play on "Video Killed the Radio Star." Alastor was the first of the Media Overlords (I dunno, maybe there was a Demon Lord of the Printing Press), and Radio is still going today, especially if you include podcasts. Valentino is definitely less powerful than Vox. The porn industry was struggling in the 70's and 80's until VHS came along, so Val owes most of his power to Vox. But Vox is trapped in codependency, just like every form of visual media has been exploited by porn. I love the analogies in the Hazbin mythos.
