    I forgot to mention but the yellow borders on the port covers are a softish~ silicone type material that help protect your ports and absorb some impact from multiple penetrations, rough insertions, from connecting cables of course...to prolong the life of your ports. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

      Hello there nitecore team... Just wanted to know about nitecore nb10000 gen 2 its got 4 lights for battery capacity but my one only lights up to 3 when fully charged ... Is it a reason why ?

      @@christianb8228 i eventually found out about it. Its 3 lights for battery capacity, and the white one is when you long press the power button it puts the power bank in low power mode(and the white light comes on) that outputs less amps for more sensitive devices like watches fitbit etc...

      No they arent. Mine are literally plastic and are sunken into the chassi somewhat. They do help to identify them easier tho, but they do not protect. Not on my model atleast.

    Great review filled with self deprecating humor and clear information as always. Unfortunately for me I just received the older model for Father’s Day. My only complaint was the difficult to see button. It is still a great power bank and it lives in my EDC get home bag.

  • @VolfiMartin
    @VolfiMartin หลายเดือนก่อน

    I bought this power bank and was very disappointed. It is a very nice and small device. But three things no one mentions. 1. When I use 20w charging for a phone or tablet, the power bank gets extremely hot. I estimate the temperature to be over 55°C. 2. Because the power bank heats up like this, its efficiency will not be good, but I did not measure the efficiency. 3. When the last LED started to light up, the voltage of the powerbank started to drop from 12.03v to approx. 11v and then shut off even though it wasn't fully discharged.

    You say low current mode only works with the usb-A output. But neither the manual for the NB10000 or NB20000 says anything about low current mode only works with the usb-A output? And I can't find any info on the web, that confirms what you're informing about low current mode in the video. Where do you have your info regarding low current mode from?

    • @Spot34
      @Spot34 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm curious abuot this too. When I put the NB1000 in low current mode and plug my phone into the usb-c port, it start charging, just like in the usb-A port. What I was aktually intersted in, was the Voltage and the max amps it can diliver in low current mode. I would like to charde my phone with 12V and 1A or less, to increase efficiency.

    • @NitecoreStore
      @NitecoreStore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The three blue indicators will go from a blinking to a constant on when it is fully charged. (I was specifically told not to give charging times because people have different USB wall boxes, QC capable, some not, different quality USB cables, and don't always use the ones that come with it, and etc and then they might complain if the times do not really align, but truthfully it should be between 1-2 hours depending on different factors mentioned above.

    • @NitecoreStore
      @NitecoreStore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes and no, the max output of the NB series is fixed. So whenever I charge two phones using both outputs you lose the quick charge, but when I charge a phone, and a smaller low amp device, the phone still quick charges.

  • @haystacksonthetrail1235
    @haystacksonthetrail1235 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really appreciate your video!!
    Have you tested the pass through capability at low or dead battery level? I've seen claims that the Nitecore NB gen 2 10k and 20k batteries can simultaneously charge their own battery and output a current to charge other devices at the same time. My own test, starting with a dead battery to do pass through charging basically failed. The current was so low that my phone estimated over 11 hrs to fully charge and it eventually shut off because the battery it was using was greater than the amount of the charge. I got the same results with both the 10k and 20k batteries.
    For reference, I'm using an Anker 65W charger with simultaneous output of 40W for the 20k battery and 20W for the 10k battery. All cables are rated 60W (well above the current used).
    I'm curious to see if:
    1. There's a battery charge threshold that must be met before they can effectively charge anything else.
    2. If my Anker charger is defective by comparing it to your own results.

      @NitecoreStore  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I did some research, and fortunately regardless of the voltage coming out of the wall, if the "box" is a USB box, because USB -> universal, it should be pretty standard, i.e. 5v/3a, 9v/2.22a, 12v/1.67a or 12v/1.5a

    This is still a poor design, you can't see well how many leds are ON, also 3 leds are too few, you need at least 4. Better just add a display to see the exact percentage, it consumes less than a led. Did not try yet but i feel there's a minimum current for charging it and it will not work to charge from small solar panels.

    Do not buy this product unless you want to be stranded without power. The clicky button was pressed while in my pack and this put the power bank into a hibernation mode. The only way to exit hibernation is to plug it into a power source. Well, there’s no power sources in the middle of the woods.
