My GOD!!!! For a voice as powerful and full, that top C was astounding!!!!
This has got to be one of the best renditions of "Libera me" that were ever recorded. The final "fil di voce" high pianissimo was absolutely perfect, and it's rarely sung like that.

Oh my goodness, now this is a libera e. Amazing!!!!!!!!!! There are some unbelievalbe recordings here but I don't know if I have heard anyone sing it like that, even her pianos are throbbing with passion. WOW!!!!
Браво! Мне кажется, что именно такой голос слышал Верди, когда сочинял свой гениальный Requiem. Он должен был бы быть доволен. А мы-то как довольны!
Violeta Urmana is a fantastic soprano! Beautiful voice!
Thanks for uploading this video. That was a breathtaking performance. She hits all of her notes, including the high C, right in the middle and makes tough piece look effortless. BTW, I agree about Caballe.

Beautiful! The first Requiem I heard live was (now I'm dating myself....) was Leontyne Price at the old Met! Ms. Urmana certainly falls into a category approaching Price's!

Soprano that can achieve that effect are too rare. Caballe is the only other. It should be perdendosi - floating in pianissimo. Xtremely hard to do tho
