As someone who uses 4G LTE for my Home Internet Wifi, I must warn you guys that connection becomes unstable during storms (specially when theres lightning). Connection drops constantly too (not good for online gaming). It drops but gets connected fast too.

You’re absolutely right that you’re at the mercy of the load on your cell tower. I would’ve went with a 4G router/access point for your interior instead of using a phone. They make some great ones for RVs and van life.

Ya the 4G routers are great but they only work with certain carriers, visible won't work. Visible was the best price I could find that did unlimited on verizon network. Do you know of a carrier doing better than 40/month?

I don't think I am "quibbling" when I point out the reality that any booster WILL NOT AMPLIFY your cellular connection. Yes, you can definitely get a better signal inside your home but only to the extent that you can get a better signal outside your home. SIMPLE EXAMPLES: If you get only 2 bars in your house but 4 bars outside your house, a booster outside will pick up the better outside signal and send it inside your house so you now have 4 bars inside. If you have your booster outside on an elevated mast/pole say 20 feet high and you get 5 bars on the outside booster, again you will get 5 bars inside. Using an outside booster, under no circumstances will you get and inside signal that is any better than you can get outside...

Turning on USB tethering in the phone network settings, then turning on mobile hotspot sharing in my laptop. I should mention that I use the Nord VPN app in the visible phone (not the laptop. I tried the laptop way, with no improvements); turning on the Nord app before connection is probably a good idea. Before this setup I was getting 2-3 Mbps Download and 5 Mbps Upload. After this setup, I get 15-20 Mbps Download and 9-10 Mbps Upload. I've used a router, and a repeater before trying this setup, and this is the only setup that has shown real improvements. I live in a very rural area, where nothing is available (crossing fingers for Starlink, as they just launched more satellites recently).

From researching this recently, and finding out this can no longer be done through AT&T, that they have pretty much shut it down because people were using the SIM.. it seems Unlimitedville($150/mo for unlimited for both companies 🙄) and the other just like it who use the MOFI and Nighthawk are really the only way to go to do this without being shut down.
How do we know that we can do this long term without them shutting the lines down like they have done with AT&T?

The booster shoots a wireless signal, so if your router can accept a 4g sim card then yes and go wired from that to PC.
