As a Beijinger, good job on the Chinese accent, should probably check the pronunciation of Xuantong though, as it sounded a bit like “Zhongtong”, also Qing sounds a bit like “King”

"The Aftermath of the Xinhai Rebellion, saw China consumed by nearly 2 decades of chaos and Civil War. The Warlord struggle for power appeared unending, the violence unquenchable. The very fabric of society itself seemed to be turned upside down and torn apart. It was from this crucible of civil war, that Wu Peifu, the Jade Marshal, stepped forth into the limelight. After throwing back the Northern Expedition at Wuhan, and crushing Zhang Zuolin's Fengtian Army twice at the Shanhai Pass, Wu was able to bring the whole of China proper under a single banner.
However, crucial aid had come from the Kaiser, and his victory was far from total. German support could have allowed Wu to create an unmatched army, securing his rule against challenges at home and even some abroad. But, as far as the Germans were concerned, decades of failed and corrupt Republican Government, were clear proof that China had suffered for the want of a monarchy.
The restoration of Xiantong Emperor, Aisin Gioro Pu Yi, came at the top of a series of humiliating demands set before Wu, each dripping with barely concealed German hubris. Hoping to find a middle ground, the Jade Marshal restored the Emperor, but refused further concessions out of hand. The Germans had to look elsewhere for someone else to sign their new round of unequal treaties. The years since represent the longest period of peace enjoyed by some parts of China since 1911, but while trade flows through the Lower Yangtze, and the bright lights of Shanghai had drawn the attention of the world, the Qing Government is not so different from its Beiyang predecessor.
Power is concentrated in the hands of the Imperial Cabinet, dominated by Wu Peifu, still at the head of the Zhilli Clique, the Empire's military backbone. The Legislative Assembly, a carryover from the old regime, exercises little power. And the restored Emperor plays a part of a puppet in the Forbidden City. Wu's military strength, before anything else, is the decisive factor in Beijing politics.
However, to the rest of China, an old proverb still rings true: "The Mountains are High, and the Emperor is far away." Shan Gao Huang Di Yuan. In the East, along the banks of the Lower Yangtze, Wu's former prodigee, Sun Chuanfang, the Smiling Tiger, builds his strength and plots against his former master. In the southern coastal cities, and deep in the mountains of Fujian, an old enemy still lays in wait: Kuomintang agitators slowly spread from town to city, speaking of a New Revolution. To the north, on the Manchurian Frontier, Zhang Zuolin's Fengtian Government continues to rally its forces for Reconquest, watching and waiting. The Qing Government's authority is everywhere contested and diffused. Meanwhile, across the Yellow Sea, the Rising Sun looms. And once relations with Germany have gradually soured.
With the country divided, and the Central Government limited to the North China Plain, will the country again fall into chaos? Will it again be little more than a pawn at the hands of cruel and uncaring foreign powers? Or could this danger instead become an opportunity? Could the Empire again receive heaven's mandate and *STAND ETERNAL*
So basically, Quing Empire is basically mirroing what happened in Japan with the restoration of the Japanese Emperor.
@@johnisaacfelipe6357 Technically they began doing that late in the 19th century. But it failed then the Revolution came then the Republic then the civil war between warlord.
While I know that the Qing return in Kaiserreich due in part to the German Empire, thus the Stahlhems for the Qing soldiers, I do think the Brodie helmet would be chosen in an irl situation, as it is simpler to produce(which would be good for the size of the Chinese army), and it's resemblance to the Yuan Dynasty era helmet, which has historical value.
While true its easier to manufacture, those Stalhelms must be stockpiles left after the war and the demobilization. Why not just send China some old stuff lying in warehouses instead of producing newer ones?

@@halorecon95 Yes, but they proclaimed themselves as 'Sons of Heaven' and conquered entire China(Huabei and Huanan). They *were* a Chinese Empire. Not just Han China. They were, as Karl August Wittfogel proclaimed; One of the 'Conquesting Dynasties.' The most successful one at that; one of the only two northern tribal Kingdoms that successfully conquered entire China. The other was the Won dynasty of the Mongols.

And I was referring to when every major foreign dynasty wanes, a Han rebellion *always* takes place. Like the Ming. The first Emporer, Taizhou was a farmer who led the Han rebellion against the Mongols. And Sun-yet San was a Han revolutionist who rose against the Qing.
In short, the Han would never accept foreign power as their overlord. In that sense, they are like the Japanese; they remember their moment of humiliation and defeat and pay it back, sooner or later.

I started Kaiserreich in Hearts of Iron effing 2. It just got better in the last years, from HoI2 over Darkest Hour up to HoI4 now. There were untold revisions of lore, but in the end it led to this, custom made videos in youtube, watched by tens of thousands. As a (former) modder myself, what more could you possibly want? In all of Paradox' games, I'm sure there won't ever be a mod so full of life. Keep up the good work, both in the mod, as well as in those georgeous videos!
