Maybe not my favourite reserve but it was still a great adventure! Campsite itself is very scenic, ablutions need lots of work (or should be demolished), garbage dump removed and fences need to be fixed and patrolled as poaching is rife in the area apparently. Cool episode none the less mate, looking forward to Kruger!
Great display of the wild and somewhat unpredictable nature that surrounds us! Thank you for showing us the rougher times as well. Excited for the next stretch!
Awesome episode. You guys are doing wonders for the local tourism. I have seen places due to your videos that I would otherwise not exists. Keep up the good work. Thanks
Should have called this video, LOST IN MAKUYA 😂😂😂 Once again another awesome video. Don't complain too much about the wind, that's mother nature for you, you never know what she will serve you.. Looking forward to happier episodes.. 😉 Take care, and keep taking us along on your travels..
Well Edward that was another excellent episode. We really like the footage of your camp set ups and meal preparation, just great:D Windy and rainy nights at camp seem to last an eternity huh. Thank you for putting the work in to bring us your travels, it is much appreciated fella.
Nice vlog! We have been many times to south africa (from the netherlands) most of the time we are there arround christmas. We have been 4 year ago also in this area arround pafuri, but there are no animal's left in this erea. The land scape is so nice there! Keep up the vlog's, we are enjoying them!
Great episode Ed! Sorry about the wind problems, but those terrible nights sometimes turn into the best stories! Good work filming it, I’d just be cursing! 🤬 hahaha
Thank you Jan! Unfortunately I couldn’t drop them anymore because of all the weight I was carrying and didn’t want to expose the sidewalls to the very sharp rocks 🙏
Merry Christmas We expect to stay at Nthakeni Camp coming from the Kruger and would like to reach the Levuvhu river before going out at the Makuya main gate. We've got today (Christmas 2023) negative information about that the conditions of that reserve. Nevertheless - avoiding to drive twice the demanding 4x4-trail back to the westend main gate - how/where did you drive out from that area to the north directly to the R525 direction Pafuri gate? Some guy of your connections called "Heinrich" had the opportunity to open the fence/gate? Many thanks. Thierry
Loved the video and am planning this weekend in Makuya, does your camp have a specific name or do you just register for stay over and pay at the reserves entrance?
Nice video..brings back memories for my fiancé who’s from Zimbabwe I live in the US in the state of Georgia. Pretty hot and humid here in the summer. I backpacked in my youth and recently started overland type camping. How do you manage the heat when camping in a tent? I’ve sort of thought of it as a three season activity around here unless I can go out west to higher elevations.
It held up perfectly 🙏 the only issue was that the tent pegs wouldn’t stay in the ground so the awnings were flapping in the wind but no damage thankfully 💪
Edward, pls share any contact or mail you might have for Makyua reserve - don't know how to get hold of them. The cell no listed on google belongs to a private person. Any info will help pls
Hi Willem, it seems I got lucky because I called Limpopo park’s and for once they answered. I would just pitch up to be honest, I doubt they are ever full

Nice
Please do like a beach, Mozambican trip sometime! Would really like that content!
Beach campsite content is in the planning 🙏 any recommendations?
We did a trip through Vilankulos - was about a 10 day trip - staying in lodges and sleeping on the beach... definitely recommend something similar!
Merry Christmas

Thank you Robert! Fortunately the tents have decent ventilation but it’s borderline comfortable, any hotter and it would be unbearable
How did the echo 5 hold up on the trip with all the rain and wind?
It held up perfectly 🙏 the only issue was that the tent pegs wouldn’t stay in the ground so the awnings were flapping in the wind but no damage thankfully 💪
Hi Ed, many thanks for the great video! Is this the Phandambili (T4A name) campsite you guys have been to?
Hi Regina! Thanks for watching and the awesome comment! It’s called the parksboard campsite on T4A! 💪
Awesome video Edward!
What pressure did you take the tyres to?
Thanks Pieter! I took them to 1.5 bar in the front, 1.8 at the back and 1.2 in the trailer!
Hi.. what is the model specifications of your car ? Automatic or manual ?
Hi! The landcruiser 200 series only comes in automatic 💪
