Fifty thousand men were sent to do the will of one.
His claim was phrased quite simply, though he never voiced it loud,
I am he, the chosen one.
In his name they could slaughter, for his name they could die.
Though many there were believed in him, still more were sure he lied,
But they'll fight the battle on.
Then one whose faith had died
    Fled back up the mountainside,
But before the top was made,
A misplaced footfall made him stray
From the path prepared for him.
    Off of the mountain,
On to a wilderness of ice.
This unexpected vision made them stand and shake with fear,
But nothing was his fright compared with those who saw him appear.
Terror filled their minds with awe.
Simple were the folk who lived
    Upon this frozen wave.
So not surprising was their thought,
This is he, God's chosen one,
Who's come to save us from
    All our oppressors.
We shall be kings on this world.
    Follow me!
I'll play the game you want me,
Until I find a way back home.
    Follow me!
I give you strength inside you,
Courage to win your battles -
No, no, no, this can't go on,
This will be all that I fled from.
Let me rest for a while.
    He walked into a valley,
    All alone.
There he talked with water, and then with the vine.
    They leave me no choice.
I must lead them to glory or most likely to death.
They traveled cross the plateau of ice, up to its edge.
Then they crossed a mountain range and saw the final plain.
Still he urged the people on.
    Then, on a distant slope,
    He observed one without hope
    Flee back up the mountainside.
He thought he recognized him by his walk,
And by the way he fell,
    And by the way he
Stood up, and vanished into air

There are a lot of bands i love a lot but go through stages where i give them a break. With Genesis, i never get tired of listening to them. And i am not even familiar with everything they did. It took me years to really appreciate this album because if i am not getting into Wind And Wuthering, then never mind i'll go listen to Foxtrot for the zillionth time. It was only recently i properly listened to Cul de Sac from Duke and now it's one of my favourites.

This is your weekly reminder to fix the animation on the spinning record. The light reflecting on the record should NOT spin with the record, unless the record is spinning somewhere in the Land of Confusion or Beyond the Silver Rainbow where rivers flow up hill and morning ends the day.
I've mentioned this problem Many Too Many times over the past several weeks and received No Reply At All.
Maybe it's some Misunderstanding by the graphic designer, or perhaps you hired an amateur to do the animation, maybe a friend or relative like your Mama. You can fix the animation very easily by not having any light reflection and just Keep It Dark. Or perhaps take the entire animation and Throw It All Away and put a picture of the band instead. If you don't know how to fix the animation, I know a Man on the Corner who needs a job and he can fix it Tonight, Tonight, Tonight. That's All for now.

I wish for the graphic designer to work on An Island in the Darkness, maybe at a Home by the Sea, were there are always Fading Lights. I'm still mad because this is Just a Job to Do, and this person can't even do that, probably doing too much SMALL TALK at the office so this person gets paid 5 Per Cent for Nothing, i wonder Who Dunnit? Maybe its a lady, she's got time, The Magic of Time let's her do an Invisible Touch on the spinning record that shines through the thing, maybe put Another Record, all we know is that The Lady Lies, so maybe its a Waiting Man of Our Times that's In Too Deep on this bad editing scheme, sounds a little bit like me and You and I...

Tbf it’s just a still image benign rotated, That’d require a much more complicated simulation so they just use the same format as all the other major bands reposting videos for songs like this. They do this btw, so they can have comments on the videos and thus more traffic.

A lot of my life's memories starting at age 15 are in these Genesis songs. Just about all their albums. As a professional musician myself I have such deep appreciation for their musical abilities as Instrumentalists. Their song writing is just impeccable. Tony Banks is so underrated as a keyboard player, and composer, especially since he and Mike Rutherford wrote the majority of Genesis music.
I had the privilege of playing and recording with their long time touring drummer, Chester Thompson. What a great guy, and great to hear the inside stories from him about Genesis. I've known Chester for about 20 years now.

Wind & Wuthering represents a great leap in quality in the music of Genesis, it is of a complexity ahead of its time. In fact, who listens to it for the first time, it seems to him from the 80s and it is from 1976, released months after A Trink Of The Tail, close in time but very different. It's closer to another super album, Duke which is just from 1980.

After listening to the CD version (no improvement of bass quality so it's probably the acoustics of this room), I realized another thing with this song I have listened to for what? 45 years? At the end when he sees himself vanish into air, he would realize that he's now leading their enemies to a fight against the army he deserted at the beginning. Such a deep song yet presented in such a way that it's deceiving and you don't realize it all until you really spend time reflecting on the lyrics. So interestingly depicted. Typical Genesis! Bravo!

Yep. And I think it's worse than the original. It already starts with the first two Mellotron bursts (violins). Way too quiet. The mix also affects all timbres. The drums sound way better in the original. The rack toms sound dull here and the snare is over compressed. The 1994 remaster from the original mix was perfect.
