Shirakami Fubuki is from hololive Gen 1 and also GAMERS. She's an arctic fox (not a cat!) who is legendary for her meme videos (Scatman) and an all around big hearted adorable fox who cares very much for her peers, sometimes even at the expense of herself. When she isn't busy caring for her peers, doing some meme video, or streaming, you're likely going to find Fubuki unloading machine-gun fire level tweets & retweets onto her own Twitter, or going in hard for gacha games for her fave characters.

I like the perspective Fubuki takes on this topic a lot. To my little knowledge of the Japanese education system, there seems to be a lot of pressure to "have it all figured out" in high school, and I feel like the same issue exists in America. I did well in the K-12 system, thought I had a career path figured out, and was confident all would go smoothly through college and forever on. I was so wrong, but in the end it all worked out for exactly the reason Fubuki said it would. I'm now strongly in agreement with her statement that nothing should be set in stone, and that trying to find what you can comfortably do without hating your life every day of the week is the way to go.
Trying to find what will make you happy in every way every day is a set up for massive disappointment. My goal in life through high school and early in college was to have a career that made me happy. By halfway through college, I had changed degrees 3 times and felt totally lost. My campus job, which I had selected because it was something I was interested in and wanted to try, would eventually become my career path despite being different from what my degree was in. In the end, I felt it was a job I could do confidently and although there were days where it was rewarding and days where it wasn't, overall I felt comfortable.
I changed my values from a way too idealistic hope of finding something that made me entirely satisfied all the time to a set of values matching Fubuki's description of minimizing stress and being comfortable even if not perfectly happy all the time. I instead focus on getting happiness from the finer things in life such as my hobbies and spending time with my favorite Holomembers. Although Fubuki is correct to advise taking her advice on the matter as a second opinion, I strongly agree with her sentiment on this subject and strongly encourage people to keep it in mind based on my own experience. I just wish someone had said this to me sooner.
Oh, and since I'm writing an essay here anyways, I'll take the chance to thank you for your diligent live translations as well as running this clip channel to help spread awareness of our friend's existence and wonderfulness to English speakers. I really appreciate all you do. Please, keep up the great work!

Yo Des P., thank you for sharing this scene with us. I really like to hear the stories and experiences of our girls. But since the topics are more serious, the vocabulary used is also harder, wich is when my lacking japanese is showing its effect. So thank you Des P.!

Thank you again for the translation Des P.. My very poor and basic Japanese skills lose alot of the nuances and deep conversation. So I'm always thankful for these.

I'm quite surprised that our friend can give an advice like this, btw this topic is quite difficult since it's about career path. Thank you so much Des P. for the wonderful translation, I can use this for my learning session as well ^^

Fubuki is actually right on a lot of this, I can confirm as a "boomer." This is specifically good advice because while it's good to have an idea of where you want to go it's completely normal to not know either and it's unrealistic to have everything figured out when you're young. Working a bit first to figure it out or just to earn a living is better than just going to school or going into debt for something you may not be want or use in the end. Once you have a clearer idea then that's when you can look into a more long term plan and it's perfectly acceptable to make that the starting plan, just keep your options open in high school so you have more options after you've done some work. Another thing: this will depend on how rough school is for you but especially in the summer when school isn't on that's a good time to just work and get feel for what working is like on top of having some side money.

I’m about to be a senior soon and seeking a job brings in tense and stressful feelings. This is the natural advice that any adult would provide but nevertheless, it is still good advice. Getting first hand experience on what the workforce would be like is always helpful and will develop better skill sets for the actual thing. Anyways, thanks for another translation.

Even if it's hard to find a job. If you still don't have any goal set in mind, it's better to try to find a job and gain experience or looking for something to motivate yourself than aimlessly continue study in the higher degree or let yourself stay still. Speaking from my experience.
