Hands down the best career in the history of motocross!! He’s done it all, he’s won everything, and he’s just riding still because he loves it….. And he’s pretty fuckin good at it! My idol since I was 11yrs old, riding a CR 80 from Jim’s MX in Johnson city!
Very good chance he is the fastest 51yr old ever. Really glad to see Mike still throwing down the laps. I used to battle with him back in the 80s. I would hate to see how bad he would beat me now! Thanks for sharing Matt.
Excellent Excellent coverage Matt , you make it feel like we are there watching with you !! I was there in 83, 84 and 86 , myself and a friend were chatting just last night about going again !!! Great 👍 video Matt and thank you
Had the pleasure of watching him race at Foxhill last year, absolutely phenomenal rider. I was blown away by his speed but also how smooth he made it look
I’ve known brownie since I was 6. Use to train me and always got to hang out in the Kawasaki big rig with him back in the 90s when he rode for them. Got his jersey right after he won the title, along with a few others! One of the coolest and nicest dudes ever
Mike Brown is an amazing rider and have immense respect for him. He still hauls ass at 51 years young. I met him years ago and he was a really nice guy. He’s an anomaly much like John Dowd in that he remains extremely competitive at an older age👍!
he is putting on a riding clinic, calm precise movements that just flow to the next, making each lap count like its the only one he is making. glad to see they let you film from where ever you want here. nice job.
I would love to see how he would do in a national race. He lives close to me and has helped my son quite a bit with motocross he is such a great guy and he loves working with the younger guys coming up to teach them.
Even his physique watching him on the bike, he could easily look like a 20 something out there. Age is truly a number but I bet he trains and works out as much if not better that most people half his age. Way to go Brownie!!
Gotta love that the #3 has been used by Mike brown and Eli Tomac. Basically if you have the number 3 as your number in the U.S. series, you’re a bad dude
Really? The people who were lucky enough to be in attendance got to witness 2 past Champions still hauling ass at over 50 years old. I would think the only people who wished they weren't there were positions 3 through 42 in each of their classes.
Sweet vid. They don't "look" that fast. 😂 i better get recovered up and make it happen for next year..i'll be 45. been riding all woods this year. Just had my ulnar nerve moved and a plate removed. Jonesing to ride.
Haha sorry I didn’t wanna insult this legends riding with commentary, besides I knew I was just gonna do a video of his riding and not announce like my race recaps lol
Brown has skill, determination and maintains his fitness, he will qualify for a national. If Mitch was as good of a guy as some people say, he should throw mike some suspension.
You saying 50 is old??? I raced against a bunch of senior riders when I was 30. They typically kicked my butt on trails. Now I'm 50... and I'm not OLD!!!
Damn right! I’m 50 as well, can’t race Moto anymore but still mt bike. I ride with the high school team; going uphill I keep their pace, once we go down the Moto skills take over and I leave them. Keep moving bud.
@mattburkeen820 Not with that attitude. Age is just a number. If your active all your life 50 ain't nothing. And what you might lose in physical you gain in experience. Imagine another 20 years of riding experience. My wife's uncle was 72 the last time I rode with him at Chadwick Missouri. He was onba 200 2 stroke and I was on a full race TE400 Husqvarna. I caught him on the straight but he smoked my ass in tue corners and whoops. Attitude my friend. Ignore the age and embrace life full throttle. At all ages.
It's crazy to see the new layout after SO many years of it being the same exact race track just ran in opposite directions some years. The ole 10 commandments haven't and won't ever change lol roll the first one double double triple double out same damn pattern most have always used through em.
@@mattburkeen820 I didn't know that was the reason that they changed it finally erased it a few times growing up but that was my mom and my dad's vacation every year was going up there to watch yeah looks pretty sweet
I think what interest me so much about how dominate Mike Brown is on the amateur scene now is that nothing he does looks mind blowing or really even that "fast" but some how he's putting 20+ seconds on second place against other really good riders. To explain further when you watched James Stewart ride every movement looked fast, he looked fast just sitting still. Brown doesn't look like he's aggressively charging corners or scrubbing a ton of speed or holding the throttle on 10 more feet into a corner than everyone else. But some how he is very dominate while looking like a fairly generic rider style wise. And this isn't a diss its just very interesting to me how he is so fast without really looking extremely fast.
Leave the guy alone, we should all hope to be as fast at 50+ years old! It’s all the man has ever done his whole life and it’s what he loves doing, why would you want to take it from him? Or better yet go and qualify for Loretta’s and try and take it from him, it’s pathetic the guy feels like he can’t enjoy doing what he loves doing because people that’s way way younger then him can’t keep up with him!
The guy holds 12 gold medals and 3 championships as a pro. This is an amateur event. I am trying to qualify but what chance do I have as an actual amateur when pro riders like this are racing. He must be proud to beat amateurs. Like an A rider competing in the c class to get the trophy.
This class can have former pros, most can’t though. There is another vet class that the former pros can’t race there. Why shouldn’t they be able to go back and relive their youth or maybe they never got a chance to go to Loretta’s before?
It’s an amateur event but there are a couple vet classes that allow former pros, then there are a couple vet classes that you can’t race if you’ve ever scored a pro point
The ama is a money hungry monster, soo sad that their is no separation from pro to amateur I went and raced in 96 125/250 b was running against pro riders myself, freaking joke
Hands down the best career in the history of motocross!! He’s done it all, he’s won everything, and he’s just riding still because he loves it….. And he’s pretty fuckin good at it! My idol since I was 11yrs old, riding a CR 80 from Jim’s MX in Johnson city!
Idk about the best career in history but it’s been one hell of a career for sure! He’s a total legend
Very good chance he is the fastest 51yr old ever. Really glad to see Mike still throwing down the laps. I used to battle with him back in the 80s. I would hate to see how bad he would beat me now! Thanks for sharing Matt.
I’m thinking he is! Hell I’ve been beaten by him plenty of times and I’m half his age 😂😭 you’re welcome thanks for watching!
I've raced with some great guy over the years. Mikes a true racer..
Excellent Excellent coverage Matt , you make it feel like we are there watching with you !! I was there in 83, 84 and 86 , myself and a friend were chatting just last night about going again !!! Great 👍 video Matt and thank you
Thank you glad you enjoyed it! Would definitely recommend checking it out a lot has changed since back in the day!
Browny🤘 He's a bad ass I don't care who you are.
100% a legend!

That’s awesome!! Thanks for sharing, dude never gets slower he’s gonna be competitive til he drops!

Mike Brown is an amazing rider and have immense respect for him. He still hauls ass at 51 years young. I met him years ago and he was a really nice guy. He’s an anomaly much like John Dowd in that he remains extremely competitive at an older age👍!

WOW BROWNIE!! Give us 1 outdoor National...
I think he will do it!
he is putting on a riding clinic, calm precise movements that just flow to the next, making each lap count like its the only one he is making. glad to see they let you film from where ever you want here. nice job.
100%! Everyone should be watching and learning. It was super cool to have access here im very thankful they allowed me on the track for this!!
He was just flow in !
Always is! Dudes a unit
Brownie ripping it with Emig in tow, what a sight to see!
Emig video coming up next!
Smooth is fast
Damn this is the video we've been waiting for! Raw footage of a legend ripping. I wish more former pros would race random stuff like he does.
Glad you enjoyed it! Dudes a legend, would be cool to see a legends class out there for only former pros!
Mike Brown is bottle of fine wine, just gets better with age
Straight up!
I would love to see how he would do in a national race. He lives close to me and has helped my son quite a bit with motocross he is such a great guy and he loves working with the younger guys coming up to teach them.
I guess we will find out next year when he’s supposed to race one! That’s super cool, he’s a legend
So you live in Blountville?
Hold that man down and drain off some DNA.....us old farts need some . What a legend. 🍻🇦🇺
😂😂😂 legend indeed!

Oh yea he’s a unit! He’s got like a 35 year fitness base I’m sure he never gets tired, he crushes it!
Brownie is unreal. His competitiveness at his age is just incredible.
He’s gonna be competitive til the day he dies!
The man is a holeshot master!! Awesome to see him still getting it 😎 .
Oh yea he crushes the starts! They are gonna have to make new age classes for this guy 😂
@@mattburkeen820 😂 no kidding!! I wonder how he would stack up in pro sport. Top 5? Id say 10 without a doubt. Unreal whats he’s still able to do.
The master blaster 🏁🏁
🤘🏻🤙🏻
He's in good shape for 51, i hung it up at 42, gets harder to recovery after crashes.
hard enough to recover after just a night out drinking at 40+
I’d be stoked to make it that long!
😂😂😂😂
Brownie is NO joke.
Cheers.
He’s a unit! Total legend
@@mattburkeen820 It is.
Bummer for Mike.
Stoked for Emig.
Still got Renner for the win later.

Great video.

Legend!
100%!
Man brown of pro circuit kawi back in day was sick era
Oh yea! 2001-2003 was epic
Back in the’90s he would show up at RedBud and destroy all of us.
Here in the 20’s he still sometimes does that to us 😂😂😭

that looks like a very tiring race you rode, cruise control used ??? nice ride'n, smooth but rough track.
Wasn’t me! It’s Mike brown, dude shreds

Where his lap times close to the 250 pro sport boys?
Pretty much impossible to compare times at Lorettas with changing track conditions especially this year with changing weather conditions
@@mattburkeen820but still what was the difference in lap times? Lol
