The 124 has been a "grail" of mine, but I haven"t picked one up as of yet. Thanks for the tip on the mil ID, I might have to flash that puppy if I make it to the factory this year! Cheers, buddy!
I have owned a Buck 124 for a couple of years now. An outstanding knife that's an entire different class than my Buck 119. Very highly recommended. I would love to see a Magnacut steel version, as a Custom Shop option above the standard 420HC steel. But, Buck would probably want over $400 for that model!

You are probably right on what they would charge. They want $200 for the 110 in magnacut.
The Rockwell rating makes it brittle. Dropped mine off the roof and it snapped at the hilt.
I'll have to keep that in mine when I'm using it.
