I got the Taito Super Pocket out of curiosity but I'm not buying another no matter what games are on it. The dpad and shoulder buttons make it the worst way to play Evercade games
I have the Capcom version and they have some odd choices to put on a handheld... Street Fighter 2 is pretty difficult with the D-pad and button config. I don't get why the Mega Man game. The beat em' ups are a good fit, though. I have to say this line up looks more suited for such a small screen. Makes me wish they would have just released a proper cartridge so you could at least play them on a proper TV.
I still think the Capcom Super Pocket is the best one, just from the sheer amount of games on there that I loved as a kid, and still do! I'll take Final Fight over Double Dragon!
I like my Taito and Capcom Super Pockets, but I don't have much interest in these. The Atari 50th Anniversary Collection is a much better collection of Atari titles than what is offered on the Evercade, and I already have the Technos collections on cartridge, to be able to play on my current super pockets and VS. I do hope that people enjoy these and buy plenty of them, because I like what Blaze and Hyper Mega Tech are doing here, and I'd definitely like to see them put out more of these cool little handhelds.
Thanks for making this video Burger. I have the Taito, Capcom (and Atari pre-ordered) but I’m not a beat ‘em up fan so I’ll skip this Technos Super Pocket. The color palate on the device is really nice looking, so I give Hyper Mega Tech props for that.
Good video Crazy! Yeah not for me either and I also think Double Dragon deserves a bigger screen, and a 2 play mode which many of the games are missing... I wonder if the special edition will be blood stained baseball bat grain? 😁
I recently sold my Technos Collection 1 Cart as I've found that I prefer playing these games on my Switch. Most of the 8bit games are on the Double Dragon & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle and the arcade games can be picked up on Arcade Archives. A lot of the games on the 8bit collection have a "Quality Up" feature that reduces the NES's flicker and improves gameplay. You can usually pick it up on sale for around the same price as a standard Evercade Cart and the beauty is that you can play in handheld and docked being a Switch game. The Arcade Archives games also work in TATE Mode which is a real bonus :-) Obviously I won't be picking this Super Pocket up but it's definitely great for those new to Evercade and maybe those who missed out on the first Technos Cart. Keep up the awesome work!
I would consider a Namco edition, but for now I’m fine with just my Taito. This particular one looks heavy on beat’em ups (and most of them look pretty similar to each other!), so it’s not quite my thing.
Could the 8 bit double dragon not be the sega master system one? I’m torn between this cause of the beat em ups and taito ( Rastan and operation wolf tempting me
Love your videos as always CB but I have zero interest in the Super Pockets. I find the EXP screen barely big enough to play on so there's no chance of me getting along with the Super Pockets. As for this one there's nothing here that grabs me. I don't play either of my Technos carts and I really don't get the appeal of Double Dragon. Compared to other well known scrolling beat em ups, I always felt the DD games were very sluggish to play, especially DD3. The best here is probably Combatribes, which I already have on the Technos arcade collection. This is a no-buy for me. Great video as always though!
I like the Super Pockets but screen is very small limiting the playability. However now that EverSD is working on them you can load up on GB and GBA games which are obviously designed with small screen in mind, making it perfect for summer holiday gaming. Have to admit I’ve ordered the woody Atari one as well. Couldn’t let that slip by. 😂
I didn't know about that! A lot more options then. But also makes it basically a worse Miyoo Mini or something... I think I would rather that they just rerelease every single gb game for this on official carts
@@liammctaggart9840 Well yes, or best of both worlds. Every game has to be licences for Carts so entire library never going to happen. Can’t imagine Nintendo going into negotiations with Blaze for Zelda games anytime soon.

I have most of these games including a number of titles not included here. Otherwise I would be tempted to buy this. No Renegade(NES version), Crash & the Boys, and the River City Ransom title on the SNES feel like missed opportunities. It’s a few games short of being great.
Too many brawlers to my taste. I like some good brawlers here and there, but there seems to be almost no variety of other genres. The 3D brick game is very good, though. I remember enjoying it on Technos Arcade Collection 1.
@@CrazyBurger I grew up playing a PC port of that game. Actually, I first played Block Out, before even discovering that Tetris exists. To me, Tetris was "that 2D Block Out". Oh, the days of growing up in post-Communist Czechoslovakia...☺
I bought a fairly pricey bundle of these on PS5... only to discover I really don't like these games at all. Nothing wrong with them, my tastes just changed from when I was a kid. I think you get more games and variants here than in that $40 digital package. The blue/white casing is also appealing - if only I liked the games. The Atari red/black is calling my name - that one has 50 games I don't like that much :)
That’s too bad. I still really enjoy the old Double Dragon and Kunio games. Nothing changed much there. For the most part my opinions haven’t changed much at all on most NES titles.
@@AngryCalvin Yeah, it a little bit of a bummer, but it least it saves me money. Like the ending of the Polar Express book - I can't hear the sleigh bells anymore. Had the same experience with Family Guy. I used to love that show, then just woke up one day and didn't. It's a strange feeling.

Sadly a lot of people will blindly keep buying these, especially the ocd collectors Instead of voting with there wallets. And as a result we will keep getting these. @@liammctaggart9840 only one I can think of is a game called Canon - legends of the new gods from piko collection 1. The only turn based tactics game on Evercade I think.
It is a cheaper alternative to Analogue Pocket, which also happens to be constantly sold out or boycotting some countries entirely (Analogue ships to Germany and Poland, but not Czechia. WHY?). It is also a low-threshold introduction into the Evercade ecosystem, where new carts are available as opposed to the necessity of hunting down the expensive originals to play on Analogue Pocket. From a technical perspective, this is a also completely different philosophy - Analogue goes the way of hardware emulation, while Blaze is usually very good with its software emulation approach.

It also lets you play ROMs using an SD card, so you don’t need to hunt for real cartridges, though it’s an option. Considering the prices of Evercade cartridges (which are very limited), using the Analogue Pocket is cheaper and better in many ways - size, screen, comfort, etc. I see Evercade more as a gimmick for collecting cartridges and consoles rather than a real way to play games. Considering the poor quality and lack of service in many countries (they don’t have service in all the countries you mentioned), and the fact that you can’t update the firmware without a Windows machine, I’m not sure the hype will last. I bought all of their products just to resell them to Evercade fans for triple the price :)
@1invag My region is EU. Once you are inside the EU, it does not really matter, whether you are shipping to France, Germany, Poland, Czechia or Romania. There are no additional customs fees or requirements. Their partner from Germany could easily ship to Czechia without any additional hurdles. Anyone can do it, so why not Analogue? I wrote their customer support and the response was, frankly, lackluster. I have grown tired of their petty little games. I like the product, but I have lost faith in the company.

I like the premium feel of the product and its sharp, crisp display, but I have lost faith in the company. First the artificial scarcity and now this. Evercade carts can be bought in many local stores around here. The cheapness of it is sadly visible on its quality control, but when it works properly, it is a nice ecosystem, which led me to discover many new games.
You've got to remember the context that Double Dragon hit the arcades in 1987, a couple of years before Final Fight and Streets of Rage didn't appear on consoles until 1991. Double Dragon resonates with a lot of old school gamers like myself because it was the first game that allowed you to literally "kick someone's head in" and laugh while you were beating up your mate in two player co-op and all for the admission price of a shiny 50p piece (or 3 credits for a pound) ;-)

I pocked the technos mainly for double dragon gb bc that was ny furst game i owned, hopefully the system is good

The capcom color theme could be more retro with dpad and button colored in purple/violet.

I think this is a miss step as double dragon and combatribes are best as multiplayer games and can’t get them on any new consoles 😢

Never understood the appeal of Double Dragon, the Streets of Rage games look and play better on a console than these arcade games 🤷🏻♂️
