I swam in Devils Pool once. Now that I’m older, I might be terrified to do it again.
There are great budget options in both Zambia and Zim. I go all the time, most recently May 2023 (I’m from the US). You can get a really comfy bed for USD30 a night…even right on the river on the Zambia side. Happy to offer info if requested.
One other thing…rafting the river below the falls. I thought, literally, the end of my life when caught below the river in a current…the Boiling Pot, the #1 rapid that’s on the Zambian side. Stuck under water I just gave up and accepted the end. Luckily when I popped up out of the current a raft from a different company had scrambled upstream to grab me (the raft of the company I was with was still struggling to get out of that rapid). Depends on the time of the year.
