Fun fact, that isn't an F-16 in this clip. It's a KAI T-50 Golden Eagle, a South Korean trainer and light combat aircraft. It's based on the F-16 though so the designs are extremely similar. Being a trainer though it has the distinct canopy of one. If you pause the clip at the 3:38 you can get the best shot of it and tell that it's not an F-16. Still doesn't change the fact that he should be very, very dead from that SAM on his tail.
@@beesmchuman8588 Indeed they do, though here it wouldn't have made a difference. Most if not all SAM launchers are radar based. Chaff would have been an option, but it's not always a guarantee.
ah, so they are IR missiles at the end (there's one frame where you can clearly see the seeker). So using flares and flying into the sun while killing the engine does make some sense... Though with a pass that close, it's highly likely the fusing system on the missiles would've detected that they were flying past the aircraft, thus detonating the warhead and destroying that chibi style F-16.
I’m a retired American Infantryman and I’m both amazed and proud to see how great South Korea has become over the years, 40 years ago I wouldn’t expect this would happen but you did it. Your enemies fear you for good reason, they know how you slaughtered the North Vietnamese in Vietnam and they avoided you at great lengths. I tip my hat to all of you, you have a great future ahead of you, please don’t lose hope in your personal life if you feel lost. Serving 26 years in the US Army wasn’t easy but it was amazing and I’m better for it, please go talk to your local military recruiter and see what they can offer you. In the Army we choose our job before we join and we get paid very well and don’t work weekends (lol, ok, maybe a couple weekends a year). Stay strong South Korea and never get soft, reject liberal thinking.
The Mig 29 is still a solid airframe, and with upgraded avionics can be equal to almost any 4th generation aircraft flying, but North Korea hasn't upgraded their Mig-29's since the late 80's. South Korean F-15's could run circles around them.

Из того,что сходу бросилось в глаза: 1)чтоб Т-50 таким образом вышел из такого падения-пикирования,у него "в заду" должен стоять не general electric, а что-то раза в два ядренее,чем P&W-110 с тяговооруженностью не менее 2-х единиц(и то,не факт,что получится) 2)Так и быть - сделаю вид,что верю,что тому же 50-му удалось обмануть первую ракету,пущенную.с земли тепловыми ловушками,но со второй...Такое впечатление,что второй ракетой надо было стучать пилоту по голове,чтоб она сработала.Точно не скажу,но при пролете ракеты метрах в 10 от цели,срабатывает НЕКОНТАКТНЫЙ взрыватель,благодаря которому новенький дорогущий шедевр самолётостроения,путем набивки его шрапнелью в результате подрыва ракеты вблизи,превращается в груду пылающих обломков и(вполне вероятно)дохлого рваного мяса,которое при жизни было квалифицированным,хорошо обученным пилотом.Так что грубых ляпов хватает.Но,тем не менее,сцены полетушек 29-х и пятнарей смотреть было приятно

Why do the North Korean pilot loadouts look more futuristic than the South’s? And why do their aircraft camo look more futuristic too? I heard it’s pure green on MiG-29s. Also, I was always wondering how those North Koreans got those advanced missile technologies. EDIT: Wow hard to believe it’s already been a year... All the memories... But really, the camo on the MiG, the gear the North Korean pilot was wearing and their SAM missiles look like it came from 2020 while the South’s weapons look like they were from the early 20th Century...
Most of them are valid points, but only the plane seen by Kim Jong-un in North Korea can put up a red notice or paint it completely green. The rest of us use normal paint like a video.

If americans could even make a video like this, it should go like so....4 faint radar contacts appear over the atlantic, a mere 20 miles away from washington d.c and close in on the white house. 4 F-35 lightnings are scrambled and are vectored toward the bogeys. AWACS stationed over spain identifies the bogeys as SU-47s. Two of the F-35s join the formation of four bogeys and begin attempts to reverse their course. Suddenly, the 4 SU-47s break formation giving the Lightnings the green light to engage. A fierce battle erupts and reaches areas over the WW2 memorial. Then SAM missles rise out of stations around the white house and 2 SU-47s go down in flame. The enemy wingman then fires a missle at an airline departing from reagan national, blowing it up. The Lightnings split up. 2 go for the leader, 2 chase the wingman. The lead SU-47 pulls a cobra maneuver and gets position on one of the lightnings. Cannon shells rip into the lightnings wing, forcing the pilot to bail out. The two other lightnings rejoin their flight lead after downing the enemy wingman and finish off the lead SU-47 after another intense combat sequence. The three remaining lightnings, continue patrol over the potomac river.
Even the F-14 Tomcat can turn better than the F-15 *if* they get close enough, the MiG-29 would completelly destroy it in any sense in a dogfight, meanwhile the only real advantage of the F-15 is the speed and BVR. The F-15 is not by any means a dogfighter, one of the terrible errors the USAF is doing again, you can't just believe you can win with only missiles if the enemy haves the ways to counter them. They haven't learnt the lesson from Vietnam at all.
Bugged Gunner uhm.....we did learn our lesson. Every fighter after Vietnam has close range guns. The mig 29 is much newer ....of course it will take out a F15.
@@trdrvr2 The USAF fighters mainly engage by BVR and are unprepared for dogfighting out of training. About the MiG being made after the F-15, they follow different doctrines, the soviet couldn't trust on their radars as much as the americans, so they had to force dogfights.

AWACS stationed over spain identifies the bogeys as SU-47s. Two of the F-35s join the formation of four bogeys and begin attempts to reverse their course. Suddenly, the 4 SU-47s break formation giving the Lightnings the green light to engage. A fierce battle erupts and reaches areas over the WW2 memorial. Then SAM missles rise out of stations around the white house and 2 SU-47s go down in flame. The enemy wingman then fires a missle at an airline departing from reagan national, blowing it up. The Lightnings split up. 2 go for the leader, 2 chase the wingman. The lead SU-47 pulls a cobra maneuver and gets position on one of the lightnings. Cannon shells rip into the lightnings wing, forcing the pilot to bail out. The two other lightnings rejoin their flight lead after downing the enemy wingman and finish off the lead SU-47 after another intense combat sequence. The three remaining lightnings, continue patrol over the potomac river.

Even the F-14 Tomcat can turn better than the F-15 *if* they get close enough, the MiG-29 would completelly destroy it in any sense in a dogfight, meanwhile the only real advantage of the F-15 is the speed and BVR. The F-15 is not by any means a dogfighter, one of the terrible errors the USAF is doing again, you can't just believe you can win with only missiles if the enemy haves the ways to counter them. They haven't learnt the lesson from Vietnam at all.
Bugged Gunner uhm.....we did learn our lesson. Every fighter after Vietnam has close range guns. The mig 29 is much newer ....of course it will take out a F15.
@@trdrvr2 The USAF fighters mainly engage by BVR and are unprepared for dogfighting out of training. About the MiG being made after the F-15, they follow different doctrines, the soviet couldn't trust on their radars as much as the americans, so they had to force dogfights.

MiG-28 isn't a real plane, jackass! And the only other plane besides the F-5 (or "MiG-28") and F-14 in Top Gun was the A-4.
