10 seconds in, this reminds me of Hatteras, but better... The helm dining area makes this a step above the average. The flybridge dining area makes this yacht 3 steps above average. Thanks Yacht Buoy for including the flooring plan of the yacht. A great deal of information can be gleaned from only 47 seconds of Video. Thanks to you.
I'd call this a medium range yacht. In Australia we look at a 6,000kms round trip to Antarctica, 9,000 kms trans Pacific and 8,000 kms trans Indian ocean. If one wants to explore in heavy weather a range of 17,000 kms or 9,000 nautical miles is long range and sometimes barely adequate. The Outer Reef 860 is a nice boat for off shore fishing and coastal cruising, I must agree.
Outer Reef is one of my favorite non steel hull boats. It would be hard for me to choose tween a boat like this and a nordhavn though. As said before your choice.
Outer Reefs are fiberglass hulls. Nordhavn's have much more volume for the same length because they are full displacement hulls...excepting the N-59 coastal pilot and their Yachtfisher I believe. Nordhavn is now offering some steel hulls for those who wish to battle the planets dwindling ice sheets. Not saying anything against Outer Reefs. They're very well built (I've worked on a few).
The Allseas 92 is for all intents and purposes one of the better yachts out there, from the remote helm controls to the very long range to the protected props and rudders to the 110 pound per foot keel, yeah the ALLSEAS 92 is 9ne 9f the best. I have a friend that has one they went from CA to Hawaii and cruised Hawaii all on one tank, they refueled and came back. Right now they are headed through the Panama canal and then up to Iceland.
@@mysticwolf2842 Allsea and any other trawlers might not be as sexy as a sport yacht but they will make you feel safe when mother nature goes wild. These boats can take quite a beating
@@rodg011 my friends last year went through a category 3 and that ALLSEAS handled it very well they set sail with four other yachts and one of them just could not handle the seas (20 foot seas or better 120 mph winds and 600 miles from shore you are 100% on your own out there. The Nordhavn they were cruising with had no problems and the bering yacht had no problems the horizon yacht had to turn back they just got beat up to bad. The three others made Hawaii no problem.
@@mysticwolf2842 Nordhavn also have a great reputation and a lot of followers, i watch a nordhavn video where several norhavn owners did an Atlantic crossing together, quite impressive bunch of people. nordhavn is probably the best fiberglass trawler.but allsea is the quite the beast of a boat
@@rodg011 yes the ALLSEAS is a beast of a boat as it was designed and for use in the bering sea but the NordHavns are also built for not just endurance but to be tough as well as very comfortable as well. If I had the funds I would more than likely get not only an ALLSEAS but I would also get the Nordhavn 80 .
Me too. Unfortunately, I could not find any accurate reference to her range. I would estimate that at 12 knots then she must be able to cruise around 2000 nm but that is just a guess. At top speed I would say maybe 500-800 nm. But again, that’s just a rough guess.
@@YachtBuoy We were at Ke'ehi marina in Honolulu in 2019 and there was an Outer Reef 86 (?) berthed close by. The owner said they topped up in Port Angeles WA and cruised at 7.5 knots to Honolulu averaging 1.16 miles per gallon. At that speed and with the standard 3,000 gallon fuel tanks maximum range would be 3480 nautical miles. They liked their comfort so they ran the hotel services (water makers, air conditioning etc) on full.
I haven’t - but I would be more than happy to act on behalf of a potential buyer. If it is something you are interested in then feel free to send me an email: john@yacht-buoy.com
@@YachtBuoy will do. ill be starting in a few months. you and i have the same love of explorer yachts. surprised to see that you haven't done a video on Sea wolf.
What kind of range does this vessel have, at higher speeds you go you burn a lot more fuel. There are yachts the though they are slower they have a much greater range. Speed is not everything when crossing the ocean, yeah the faster boats are nice but they cannot crosswise expanses of ocean.
For fans of Yacht Buoy: Google likes it when you make 2 or more comments on a Video. Yacht Buoy: I didn't hear much about the range or fuel consumption at various speeds. Ex. displacement speed / Litre per mile.
Definitely much better now!!! Always love the steel hull boats that you share with us. I'm "old school" and that's how I like my boats to look. Of course I appreciate the modern technology that you turn us onto.
I have John Deere’s never any issues. Most commercial fishing boats use them also. Check out MV Dirona circumnavigated with a single Deere runs like a tank
@@JJP72095 Thats great. I know 3 boats with John Deere power, one I've ran. All 3 have had a multitude of various problems, and on one of the fishing trips trips I ran I spent a lot of time doing repairs on one of the main engines. Additionally, today, John Deere has a factory sealed control system, and they won't sell the software. That may be fine for a farm tractor, but on an oceanic trip, I'll stay with CAT or Cummins or Man. By the way, one of the boats mentioned above have now re-powered to get away from the John Deere Marine engines.
I appreciate that your review gives the viewer/buyer a great view of the Yacht over a wider period of time. It's really something.
Glad it was helpful!

great boat with power to speed if needed that's great
Thanks for watching :-)

Full displacement hull?
could you tell me the price of this boat love to know or one much the same or even a 76
Thanks for watching 🙌 I will try and find out 👍
Are outer reef yachts more of a costal cruiser than a ocean crosser?
I think it depends on the aspirations of the owner, but if I had one of these then I would happily cross the Atlantic
I’m also interested in the distance it can go in an economical speed?

How can I get her to Lake Superior? Where can I dock her?

steel hull?
Negative
Is there an 86 outer reef wo the fly bridge, it's called a sedan lol.

range?
It did not say on Outer Reef's website :-/
Not quite up to your usual tours. A bit light on information regarding the engine room and bridge.

Where is the dining room. Find the presentation lacking in detail. Is is rated as an explorer yacht
