I'm one year older (2000) and I've got a similar experience. I've always known of her because she is a global superstar and my parents used to listen to her growing up but I never really heard any of her music, just her legacy if that makes sense. Then I made an internet friend when I was around 17 and he happened to be Australian. After a while, we got close and started recommending each other music. Of course Kylie was one of his recommendations and I've never looked back since. I really wish to go see her live because I can tell that she is just an amazing performer and all of her music is pretty much TIMELESS, like it still holds up the same way as when it was released. Never been a huge Kylie fan. Like I like a lot of her music but wouldn’t say I’ve ever been a ‘fan’
But she’s absolutely been part of my life, I think she’s been part of everyone’s life, especially in the UK. I always feel nostalgic when I see and hear her. Takes me back to better times back in the 80s/90s when life seemed so much better then. She’s like part of the furniture so to speak. She always feels comfortable and like a big friendly hug. She absolutely deserves all the love she gets. She’s a national treasure ❤

Apart from the performance itself being absolute sheer class, I am amazed how many nostalgic details and almost Easter eggs are packed into the production of this! Every time I watch it I notice something new. I think my favourite is (and I wonder how many people realised it too) how all those whit jump suits that say Kylie feature a different font and then I realised that’s not just random, they are the fonts off of various album covers!!! genius little detail!

I'm a baby of the 2000s and grew up listening to Kylie mainly on the radio and watching her on TV. I would say I started to really call myself a fan when All The Lovers came out. Her music is timeless and never fail to make me and obviously mostly everyone in the world dance and feel all emotions, mostly joy I'd say. So happy she truly loves and calls the UK 2nd home. ❤🇬🇧
