We have a similar looking plant to the touch-me-not called poison bean. It grows along waterfronts and the bees work it's blossoms. I always enjoy your b roll footage.
I am actually on the fence about the 13 only for the macro and the future release of the anamorphic lens. What was the battery handle you said you had? Im also deciding about getting a volta very soon.
I swore off using my GoPro after my hero 7 black had overheating and frame lagging issues. It seems that they have resolved those problems but airflow is very important for battery life while using. I would be a little concerned from a beekeeping standpoint, as we are usually in hot weather without a breeze.
And you'd think they would offer a white version. If you paint the body it voids the warranty. People with the vlogging rig definitely have overheating issues. I've never had one overheat, but I've also not had one in over 100 degree heat. For time-lapse sequences on hot days, I have a white umbrella that clamps above the GoPro, or any other camera I use for that purpose. Thanks for sharing.
Nice stuff Fred… I can see footage of the Yellow jackets coming up and maybe slow motion of smoke moving across wings… Do you think you can do endoscopic videos inside the yellow jacket nest? 🍻 John… have a gr8 weekend…
Can you leave the macro lens on all the time and use in wide angle and would it be the same as using it in wide angle with the standard lens it comes with…. Same quality too?
You can, and just rotate the control/focus ring to Portrait position. Unless you're trying to capture an entire landscape, most objects within 20 feet will be in focus. The wide angle does distort the edge subjects.
@@FrederickDunn please check one more, how long distance camera can work with this macro lens... i see in official site - "from 4.33in (11cm) to 2.46ft (75cm)"
@@SeregaKusj When you turn on focus peaking, it's a pretty shallow depth of field. So, you can manually focus on objects from 4.33 inches to 2.46 feet away and it doesn't include much past that.
I've never had a GoPro. I'm curious if you can run this while plugged in. It seems everyone runs into battery problems with these things. If you could run it while plugged in whenever possible it could reduce these difficulties.
Yes, I plug them in often. This spring, I used several of them to do a long-term time-lapse video that covered several weeks. The side door that I show here is key when you need to leave them plugged in.
Yes, you can open the door and plug in a USB cable for power while recording. Or you can buy the new Contacto accessory, which allows you to power the camera with a magnetically-attached cable that maintains waterproofing. Full disclosure: I work for GoPro

Thank you for the high quality 4K content.

I use Godox battery handles for a lot of time-lapse gear. Pretty dependable and inexpensive.

@@FrederickDunnso beyond 20 feet would you say starts looking out of focus?

@@FrederickDunn think need to have two cameras, one for close shooting, other for everything else :) сhanging lens every time... is not serious!
wait how you got so close to bees 🐝 that close.. impressive!
Those are my bees :) I'm glad you enjoyed that.
