  • In this video we finally make a seat for our supercharged, land speed, Honda cl175 race motorcycle. This process can easily be used for any custom application, including cafe racers. If you are interested in the 3D model of the tail section, feel free to send me an email at vintageironracing@gmail.com

Man, watching you build this bike this whole time, inspires me to at least do something on my bike. No matter how small I start, I always kinda copy what you do in the way that you do things so cleanly. Like the preparations you do before you do anything. Awesome build so far man

For top speed and drag reduction, I would think you would want to lengthen the tail to reduce drag... How the air comes off of the bike and rider is more critical to drag than the hole it punches into it. Does look awesome though and is really high quality looking work!!!

Another nicely though through and executed part. Well done. I does look great, it'll fly.

@@vintageironmotorcycles Hi, I have watched quite a few of your rebuild offline, very nicely done indeed. It's shaping up quite nicely, myself I have _Phil Irvings_ book on _Tuning for Speed_ and small capacity combustion engines are difficult to supercharge - although todays availabilities of electronic & programable/mappable systems does help, arriving at those maps and settings is still the tedious part that older styles of mechanical & electrical systems could dream of.
Best of Luck in all you do and trawling through those difficulties passed and yet to come, may they be relatively brief & not too hair pullingly vexxing or serious!
Although I would ask you think of lock-wiring your supercharger mounting allen/hex bolts, and other parts of the engine for safeties sake - such as the oil filler cap and drain plug/bolt (hopefully it is magnetic/magnetized).
Forgive me, but better to have those things which must have some sort of anti-vibrational stay on vibes unscrewing things when being run - either by lock-wire or by a drilled holes with a washers & cotter/split pins
Yeah I know it's still early days & R&D 'lemon engineering' (sucking it and seeing/testing by trialing solving things along the way), but certainly later on, it is better to overpass most or all scrutineering requirements than only just pass on them.

VERY nice job on the seat! I feel like a cheater now, going to AirTech and getting a fiberglass one. Looking good on the bike at the strip!

Thanks! Haha I've actually been looking at AirTech's front fairings but it'll be a while until I make that decision.

@@vintageironmotorcycles Gotta make sure they allow it for the class you are running too!

    Really nice bike!
What do you think of a fairing on the bike? I think it would look great with a small half fairing or top fairing on your bike, maybe it helps a little with to provide the aerodynamics.
