I feel like I'm not going to remember any of these talent shows except for Lexi and Susie. Everyone else just fell into the background. Not that they did bad, I think Crystal and Jewels did a great job, but I'm not going to remember them by next season. My hot take is that I don't think lip syncing to original tracks is an inherently bad idea, but you need to add something special. People overlook the fact that Anetra and Lexi were original track lip syncs, but they added something else to make them pop. Most of the queens want to stick to an average performance and be safe rather than take a risk and be put in the bottom, like Acacia. I don't think the issue is queens relying on average lip sync tracks, I think the issue is production *rewarding* said boring lip sync tracks.
Awww, thanks for the nod to my comment. That was super sweet! And also GET OUT OF MY HEAD, WITCH! 😆 You nailed my exact thoughts. I like the cast, they have some strong queens for sure, but the vibe for this season is just ... off. Maybe it's because Canada has had such a strong showing (sorry, Lana Ja'Rae, Virgo Queen did that corset dress better!) with their incredibly diverse cast and willingness to innovate, even if it doesn't always hit the mark. But, Drag Race ... (Rant incoming!) Lexi seriously rescued that talent show. I'm SO done with original song lip syncs (I get it; branding, exposure yadda, yadda) but Onya's was the only other one that was remotely catchy. I thought Sam Starr's song was awful. She flopped, (literally), after running her mouth about Acacia's performance. B*tch, at least she played and sang, live! Crystal Envy showed off her dancing chops, but the song was utterly forgettable. And why was Kori cosplaying as Monet? Week 2 is not the time to be imitating someone *else's* drag; you need to be cementing YOUR style, first. This whole category was a mess, just like the Mask Singer one. (Like, is that show even still on?) And, let's talk about the elephant in the room: American exceptionalism. A cuntry that gave us Sh*thead Trump for President has nothing to be proud of. As a Canadian, (their "51st state" 🖕) I have an equally visceral reaction to RW&B. 🤮 And then that dumb, dunking Michelle stunt* at the end, like WHY?! There's no drama, no tension, no skill, no storyline, no redemption in it; it's just a damn ad for Las Vegas! UGH! Seriously, F*ck off with that sh*t, Drag Race! Bring back the Lipsync battles, or even a mid-season design challenge where the eliminated queens come back to design for Michelle (like the Dress Brooke challenge) with the winning look revealed by her walking it on the runway at the very end. Instead we got a queen saved after one of the most mediocre lipsyncs, EVER. It wasn't like she'd even earned it with a fierce battle and contestable loss! And finally, Ru. Yes, she's the Grand Dame of Drag, has transformed it forever, but as I watch more and more international seasons, I'm less and less interested in her. She's only invested in the franchise, not the girls. I see such warmth in Mama Pao, Supreme, Barbie, Lolita Banana, Grag and Bruna, and even Fred when they engage with the queens, it just makes Ru seem cynical, bored and, frankly, ungrateful. You made millions on the backs of these girls. They can do drag without you; *you* can't do the show without them. *whew* End rant. Man, this season is going to be an over-produced train wreck, me thinks, and not the fun, popcorn kind. *(Michelle, you look great, though!)
I completely agree. I think that the 2 saves were because they want a save throughout the season plus they needed to use one for this episode to save whoever went home to show how it would work
That's why you look familiar to me, I saw your video last week and I was like, Who is this person? I know I see him before from somewhere but where? now it click I used to watch your videos all the time, when you and your friend did the Drag race recaps.
Part 2 was straight up, Boo Boo The Fool. Everyone but Hormona did a lipsync to an original track, even technically Lexi with the roller skating was still the same thing. BORING. Then not one but TWO Marie Antoinette looks, which like Michelle said, we've seen 100s of times on the runway. Boring, boring, boring.
Yea this split premiere wasn’t very good.😭 . It’s weird cuz I remember 14 15 and 16s all fondly. I like the cast personality wise but so far only a handful have captivated me. They need to cast more queens in their 30s… Sasha was able to handily beat Anetra with a 38/25 age dif … “older” queens are just as capable as young girls, both entertainment and ability wise . “Older” queens (girls in their 30s and beyond) started before drag race was the zeitgeist it’s been since like 2017? IMO so they know themselves apart from the show (like u were saying) Loved Lexi bad this episode. It was hers moreso than 1 was Suzie’s IMOOOOOO, by a good bit, lol. Idk if there was a clear top 2 cuz rly only Lexi did very well voth runway and performance wise. So far my top 4 is Lexi Onya Jewels Suzie . Onya seems like she has killer comedy coming up and tbh I feel like it’ll be over for most other girls once she opens her mouth and starts making ru cackle. Her voice is VERY realness and she has auntie energy that Ru seems to be loving. This was long lol. Good work on the video amor
Yeah I’m obsessed with Lexi so far! I think she’s got big winner energy, and just has a solid vibe that I fw hard. I think the talent shows are getting tired and should be reserved for All Stars only tbh. Bring us back to girl groups and duo runway premieres.
How does it feel to always have the unpopular opinion? I found part two way more enjoyable than part 1....more consistent performances, a better lip sync (at least one lol), more time spent with the girls....aside from chocolate pt2 and the bottom two lip sync it was a fun episode

You’re real for this and I absolutely agree!
Jewel did mention her outfit was representing the Puerto Rican flag. Red white and blue and a star isnt exclusive to America
I never said it was. UK/Holland/Aus/PR etc also have RW&B.
I said I have a negative reaction to those colors and with good reason.
Yeah and you can but how you said it came off as you thinking it's American. @@OrganzaExtravaganza
Honestly I don't know why they still call it a variety show still when everyone just lipsyncs
Variety shows should be All Stars/Vs The World exclusives, imho
They Never Called It A Variety Show, It Was Just Drag Queen Got Talent
i really enjoyed part 2 way more lol
Jewels sparkles look was for Puerto Rico..
And extremely Cuban, I didn’t get America at all

So sick of queens just lipsyncing as a talent smh 😆

I loved Lana’s runway and talent
quite literally the only review that i agree with.
Sponge cake is a thing though.
Make sure to stretch before you reach 😂 /j
