  • Rode the "advanced" trail segments, starting with the East segment headed counter clockwise...
East makes for a great warm-up, continue on to North for some "double black" drop ins and West for some fast technical fun! Hit south on the way out for a GREAT high speed cool down! What a ride!

Nice, i need to try that sometime. All trails arent rated the exact same, i go to Uwharrie sometimes and was there last Saturday to ride/walk Kewaunee, thats rated Blue but SERIOUSLY rocky and techy and took a little fall in the rocky section, fortunately just a few light bruises and scratches on my forearm, plenty of people walk that area

How is that double black. Look up monte sano thats where i grew up riding. Thats double black also and way more intense. Yet those look like some nice trails

Its not. One particular feature is rated "double black" not the entire trail.
With maybe one or two exceptions I personally wouldn't call anything in the triangle area "double black" rated.
Trail ratings are given based on perceived skill level required relative to the area's trails. What is considered a "double black" trail here would likely be considered blue trails elsewhere.
There are some more difficult trails around but they are of the "locals only" variety. If you know you know.
The people that control the trails in this area live in fear of fun if I'm being honest.
Mountain biking is dangerous. As riders we know this and take the risk upon our selves. We will just have to keep building bandit trails to have real fun until something changes.

@@politiciansthrowstones Don't let me dissuade you from riding the sanctioned trails.. A lot of the time with trails like the type we have speed can be a great difficulty modifier. The faster you go, the harder they get.
If you want something a bit spicier try the Wake Forest Reservoir. There is some cool stuff happening in that place. There are trails on both sides of the reservoir with one side having a bit steeper more technical terrain.
If that isn't challenging enough, head to New Light on a Sunday before May 15th or any day of the week after May 15th (open only Sundays until hunting season is over).
If that still isn't enough shoot me a message.

Im looking to get into mountain biking, and I'm in the Raleigh area do you know any beginner trails that I could try.

      Yes!
Lake Crabtree County Park and Harris Lake both have FANTASTIC trails where beginners can focus on learning the basics.
Keep an eye on my channel the next couple days... I will be posting a video of the "Bailey and Sarah Williamson Preserve". This trail is just east of Raleigh and REALLY well designed - and great for beginners as its super flowy and nearly rootless. Highly recommend.
      Also, check out www.trianglemtb.com/
