Michael Penix is actually stepping into the best situation for him. Unlike Drake Maye, he will not be asked to do anything too soon, but can sit back and learn behind a solid veteran, develop, and work on the so called deficiencies you highlighted in his game.

The Falcons have been in a similar path to the Packers in terms of small to no gaps in between their last couple franchise QBs so I can easily see the torch being passed from Michael Vick to Matt Ryan and now Michael Penix just like how Green Bay has gone from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers to now Jordan Love. Penix has many many detractors.. He's almost 25 played 4 years in the Big 10 recording 35 TTDs 25 Turnovers 124.2 Passer Rating.. JJ McCarthey for example played as an 18-19-20 year old turning 21 after the season and recorded 60 TTDs 12 Turnovers & 161 Passer Rating and being 28-1 makes him the winningest QB in CFB Division 1 history.. But like Bo Nix who struggled in the SEC some good Ole no Pac 12 Defense needed they tore it up.. Not to mention JJ will have 3 NFL seasons under his belt by time he turns 24 which is still younger than Penix is now..

Whether Maye is a bust or not entirely depends on whether he's asked to start right off the bat. Penix will absolutely NOT be a bust. I would go as far as saying he could be one of the best QBs in the league for the next 15 years. His situation may seem awkward, and so many short sighted people are marking this as an F pick, but he's been drafted into a near-0 pressure situation. All he has to do is sit behind one of the game's best and most experienced quarterbacks, learn the game, learn the playbook, and adjust to the NFL level. I think the Falcons saw the success of Jordan Love this year and realized the value of preparing for the future at the game's most important position.

Bowers and Mayers for a TE duo is absolutely insane. Both have different styles of play while still being all around good TEs. Bowers looks to be a great player, and considering the chaos the raiders went through last season, I wouldn't be surprised if mayer shocks the league. I was happy to see Brock as a Star and Bo Nix as a Bust on your lists. Brock is gonna be a factor in both the raiders rushing and passing attack right from the getgo no matter who's under center. Bo wasnt even a star in college, he was product of a great system but he only has one read, you throw him on a rebuilding Broncos team, youll see the results pretty quickly.
Of course there can be some steals but then nobody talks about the guys that are semi-busts, basically they’re still good and not quite as good as expected but they’re not full blown busts either. One player I can think of as a semi-bust was Ted Ginn who was a first round WR (picked at #9 in the 2007 draft) who wasn’t nearly as good as everyone anticipated but he still was serviceable and had a long career of 14 seasons. He did have 5 seasons of at least 500 receiving yards and 4 of those were of at least 700 yards so he at least still was decent.

(I thought they should have traded down for more assets instead of taking a QB at #3 as they are not set up to develop a young QB.) There is still a gaping hole at left tackle heading into training camp, and the offensive line as a whole is still a huge question mark. There is no reason to rush Maye into starting.

They shouldn't have put themselves in a position where they were forced to overdraft a QB and instead waited another year considering the rest of the team is mostly devoid of talent anyway. They could have had Byron Murphy or Brock Bowers two future stars at 12th overall which is rare but instead their arrogant coach decided a guy who ran mostly a 1 read offense who threw the ball 10 yards past the LOS about 10% of the time was going to somehow turn out to be a good pro. I neither like nor hate Denver but they really took a big chance on a guy a lot of scouts thought was 2nd or 3rd round talent when there was a ton of talent still on the board and at positions of need no less. That's the kind of decision making that keeps teams in the basement for prolonged periods of time I actually feel sorry for Bronco fans their coach has never been a GM nor has proven that he can be one they needed someone to balance out their draft. Given Titans history of drafted OL, there's good chance that JC Latham will be big boom. Don't forget he will play next to Peter Skoronski. I think Falcons will waste Michael Penix's talent because he will spend on bench for 3 years or so ,but he could be next JordanLove/Aaron Rodgers, though.
I think Drake Maye will be just fine. Pats will sit him for most of the season and let Brissett run the team. I doubt we see Maye until at least week 8 or 9. The WR corp could be sneaky good, and the Defense is top 10 at the very least

The first part I agree with and i'm not writing off Maye but I don't see that as a top ten defense in any way shape or form. I would say they're at least 2-3 years away from contention and at least 2 years away from mediocrity even.

I was happy to see Brock as a Star and Bo Nix as a Bust on your lists. Brock is gonna be a factor in both the raiders rushing and passing attack right from the getgo no matter who's under center. Bo wasnt even a star in college, he was product of a great system but he only has one read, you throw him on a rebuilding Broncos team, youll see the results pretty quickly.

It's amazing every person in the draft will be either a star or a bus nobody will be in between.
Of course there can be some steals but then nobody talks about the guys that are semi-busts, basically they’re still good and not quite as good as expected but they’re not full blown busts either. One player I can think of as a semi-bust was Ted Ginn who was a first round WR (picked at #9 in the 2007 draft) who wasn’t nearly as good as everyone anticipated but he still was serviceable and had a long career of 14 seasons. He did have 5 seasons of at least 500 receiving yards and 4 of those were of at least 700 yards so he at least still was decent.
Bo Nix is a special kid I don't wanna say he's a BUST yet but Broncos Fans are thrilled of the fact that they searched for a franchise QB ever since Peyton Manning left Denver after they won the Super Bowl Championship in 2015 obviously the Russell Wilson trade was such a meltdown from the get go but I can assure this Bo Nix will make things better for Sean Payton sake because it will be a something to watch but Nix has to prove it! 10:00

The bottom line: the players listed either have a poor, uncertain or good supporting cast with players around them that have an impact if there busts or stars. It’s hard to tell with some of these players at this point, looking back at their situation in 3 or 4 years to make a comparison between now and then…. Some of these mentioned today, I see stars on another team not the team that drafted them.

As a Patriots fan, I wouldn’t be sold on Drake Maye no matter what they did. He only seems to be a slightly better version of Mac Jones with a ceiling that’s above average at best. I’m not saying above average is bad by any means but that’s the best I could envision Maye doing.

(I thought they should have traded down for more assets instead of taking a QB at #3 as they are not set up to develop a young QB.) There is still a gaping hole at left tackle heading into training camp, and the offensive line as a whole is still a huge question mark. There is no reason to rush Maye into starting.

Bo Nix - Bust. So what should the Broncos have done? Not get a QB?
They shouldn't have put themselves in a position where they were forced to overdraft a QB and instead waited another year considering the rest of the team is mostly devoid of talent anyway. They could have had Byron Murphy or Brock Bowers two future stars at 12th overall which is rare but instead their arrogant coach decided a guy who ran mostly a 1 read offense who threw the ball 10 yards past the LOS about 10% of the time was going to somehow turn out to be a good pro. I neither like nor hate Denver but they really took a big chance on a guy a lot of scouts thought was 2nd or 3rd round talent when there was a ton of talent still on the board and at positions of need no less. That's the kind of decision making that keeps teams in the basement for prolonged periods of time I actually feel sorry for Bronco fans their coach has never been a GM nor has proven that he can be one they needed someone to balance out their draft. I will say I liked their 3rd and 4th round picks at least.
Xavier Worthy didn't have half the season John Ross did and both guys played for schools who made the CFP in Texas(23) & Washington(16).. And John Ross was awful.. Oh ya and the people who say ya but he's playing for KC & Mahomes but so did Mecole Hardman a 4.33 guy & Kardius Toney a 4.38 guy and for the Chiefs last year they had 14 Rec 80 YDs 0 TDs in 12 Games & 27 Rec 169 YDS 1 TD in 13 games respectively.. So I'm not on Xavier Worthy train yet.. A matter of fact if we're looking at slot WR under 6 foot give me Roman Wilson in Pittsburgh for nice RC season if he's healthy and plays 13 to all 17 games..
