SPOTTED: EMS Mountain Light -20 sleeping bag. Awesome to see that you know how to recognize a quality sleeping bag. I can't imagine you were even close to cold throughout the night. Keep up the sick vids! Been watching since 2008, don't plan on ever stopping.
Bought one of those for the family and on our first outing a small pine branch fell and gashed a big hole in the fly and tent. Took it back to REI who refunded my money without question. Upgraded to a Sprinbar Colossus, best tent ever made. It's like a hotel room in the wilderness.
Looks like it would be a nice upgrade from collection of 2 and 3 man tents that have been collected over the past 10-15 years. Spent an entire summer in a tent this size when I was growing up -- great experience.
I've had this tent for about 2 years now. Like you, got a super low price on it. Materials & workmanship are top notch. Stakes are beefy steels ones, not the tiny aluminum kind. Lots of room inside, height & width wise. The fly covers very well. The only drawback for me, and it's a small one, is setup time. but it's not meant to be taken down and put up again every night (thus the name). No stupid colors either. Tip: bring extra paracord for more guy lines.
I have used this tent every month for the past 5 years. It is a workhorse of a tent! Roomy, it holds my Cabelas Outfitter XL cot with plenty of room left over. The poles are color coded, the stakes are super strong, the zippers work without catching. It goes up very quickly for a tent of this size. It stands up to high winds and heavy rains well. I have never had any water in the tent despite heavy downpours. My tent is the newer version with a single bathtub floor. The vestibules are quite large (my friends nicknamed them "the garage"). The carry bag is a backpack that is roomy and has separate compartments for tent, fly, poles, and stakes - brilliant! I got it on sale for $260, best tent purchase I ever made.
GREAT! I just got a Ledge Recluse 3 and now I have this on my list. On a side note, I had the Recluse set up overnight to cut out a foot print and the winds here in TX got up to 20mph with 40mph gusts. The tent did fine. Thanks for the accurate reviews.
I have used this tent in Alaska for 15 years before it finally wore out (loved it), I would estimate 400+ days of camping. It is a car/rafting/atv tent for sure, I didn't get the new style because you cannot close off the screens on the tent body, being able to close off the screens can create an amazing amount of warmth.
Awesome!!! I bought a 2011 model last year and man is that thing nice! I use for car camping with the offspring and misses. Good to see you approve Nutn.
Have this same tent and love it. Worth the money. It has been through a number af coorado trips and moab during a tornado warning and downpour. No problems. Mine is a different color and possibly a year earlier.
I've had this tent since 2008. Been in massive down pours & blizzard conditions. Not a drop inside. I've gotten some cheaper tents in the past (never your monies worth). But this tent was worth every penny!
Nutn..... I dont see this as a large view count video but thanks for putting this kind of review up for us, I am sure everyone who DID watch this appreciated it...
I have a ton of REI gear and I haven't been disappointed with any of it. Great quality and if you wait for the sales it's very reasonably priced. I have a quarter dome t3 and prefer it to my big agnes parkview 3. And you can't beat the satisfaction guarantee.
Just nabbed a brand new one from eBay for $311.00! I am so looking forward to putting it through its paces when it shows up next week. I will likely purchase two more tents (a lightweight backpacking one, and a larger insta-tent one for extended head room and larger numbers), but the REI Base Camp 6 will be my personal go-to tent. Thanks for posting this video, NutNFancy!
Do this same kind of trip from time to time. Last one slept in the REI Hobitat & brought it & the kitchen sink in with the truck. Allowed for some dayhike excursions from base camp. I know I'm preaching to the choir : ) Good to see you out with Bugget again!
fantastic review, I really need to up grade my tents. I currently have two Coleman and they have gotten the job done, but we were always camping close to the Explorer. I want to go a little further out this spring.
Man, that thing has a lot of features! I don't have a big tent like that (we did growing up for the family - canoe trips) but if I did, I'd want one with those features.
That shooting was probably from ITTS, based on where you guys might be. There is an excellent long range shootong range in the Angeles Forst near Sierra Madre.
Nice job on the video and product review. Looks like a superb tent. As an alternative to sewing on attachment points for tie-outs on the bottom of the fly you might take a look at reusable, plastic tarp clips. Usually about $10 for a pack of 4 ea. Come in a couple of styles, one with a sliding friction lock and then the ones I prefer with a screw lock. Available at Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon.com, etc.
Nutn and others, fun fact for keeping water from freezing bury your liquids in the snow at night or when not in use. works great with water, ok with other liquids depending on their freezing points. I've seen this work in -15f temps while winter camping in the rockies. Colorado, BSA ES
Yeah...that's an ok tent I suppose....now my cabelas xwt 12x12 ...THAT'S a tent! None the less still love your vids!!! Keep me coming and ill keep watching!
Great review. Really like this because my kids are young and not ready for bush whacking yet so I need some good family car camping gear. Think you'll do more?
Nutn, You need some Opti-Coat pro applied to your Titan! It will make keeping it cleaner longer and help protect the paint permanently, it will help against the Salt and stuff as well. Veri, if you read this, I have a good Detailer that I can highly recommend in Utah. Car care is my specialty as gear reviews etc. are Nutn's. and I can say Opti-coat is a must with your weather up there. "the owl is on the shed"
Personally, if I was going to get a huge car camping tent for a family, I'd just go with a Coleman. They're huge and much cheaper. You can get 8+ person tents from them for around $100. They won't be of the same quality as an REI tent. But I only care about really high quality for backpacking tents. For car camping with a family, a Coleman tent should work just fine.
You can also get the footprint for extra floor protection. And we all know the vents are not to pull moisture out with bugget or tactical d in the tent ;)
Nice! Did you cut a footprint for this tent as well? Nice tent... but for a single guy like me.. that tent is to big.. it's NICE though.. dang! I still love my Kelty Gunison 2.1 =D Thanks for the great review.
Love the review. Thanks for the good data. What do you think of the Turtle Tuff Tents? I am also looking at the Coleman Instant 6 and the Browning Black Canyon 6. Do you have any comparisons?
TNP, have you reviewed the arctic oven? I read that it has a fly for a camp stove. Also, what are the philosophies of car camping versus backpacking. Mobility versus defend ability and speed versus duration?
Purchased a Marmot Limestone 6p in fall. Yet to use for car camping but seems similar. What is the shelter also you guys were using? Any thoughts on the Paha Que shelters for base camp use?
Seem tape will just turn into a fail.. I just dont understand why tent makers cant get a peice of fabric big enough to avoid putting a seem in the nmiddle of a tent floor that will just fail after walking on a few times. Nice Ient and video..
What are your thoughts on the maratac AAA??? 115 lumens on high 18 lumens on medium and 2 lumens on low. full water proof super small and light weight. Takes 1 AAA battery

I've had the tent for almost 3 years and I love it, nothing bad to say about it, its great for my family outings
YES! Tent vid!!!! I loves these!!! It feels like the old days, Bugget, knife reviews and tents... Keep it up Nutn!
Thanks!!
I've had this tent since 2008. Been in massive down pours & blizzard conditions. Not a drop inside. I've gotten some cheaper tents in the past (never your monies worth). But this tent was worth every penny!
I have ketly's version of ths called the Trail Dome 6 and I love it for family/car camping. Holds up to the wind great.
YES!! Bought this tent purely based on this review. Just picked it up on ebay for $200! And the ground cloth was included!
Nutn..... I dont see this as a large view count video but thanks for putting this kind of review up for us, I am sure everyone who DID watch this appreciated it...

I love the adventures with buddies! Thanks Nutn!
You get a "Like" from me, Nutnfancy. Last time I went camping was in 2009 in Alaska, and our tent wasn't this good. Thanks for the review!
Awesome! Thanks for taking the opportunity to explore the car-camping concept, even though you don't do it alot yourself.
Hilleberg makes a heck of a nice tent. Pretty pricey, but very cool design with the rain fly attached to the inner mesh.
fantastic review, I really need to up grade my tents. I currently have two Coleman and they have gotten the job done, but we were always camping close to the Explorer. I want to go a little further out this spring.
The tent's shape reminds me of my Cabelas 4 man Alaskan Guide Series tent. A similar quality build with taped seams and other features.
I have a Base Camp 4 and love it... I love the backpack it comes in too!
lovin the old school reviews nut'n. Thanks for your work
I love your tent reviews. They're some of my favorites. Thanks.
I love REI stuff, my family has had the same member ship since the very first store opened in Seattle!
Yes! More car camping reviews would be awesome. Thanks for the great review.
Man, that thing has a lot of features! I don't have a big tent like that (we did growing up for the family - canoe trips) but if I did, I'd want one with those features.

Glad to see Bugget and Nutn back out doing the campin thing.....
Another great video/review Nutn. PLEASE keep them coming.

thanks Nutn bought this tent on ebay used! Used it three times and my wife, 2 kids and I love it! Please do more camping adventure vids!!
Awesome review. I have the Hobitat 6 and it is somewhat similar to this. My primarily use is family car camping. Great review.
Nutn and others, fun fact for keeping water from freezing

That's an awesome family tent for the money. Thanks for the review sir.
Nice car-camp tent. I use the Kelty mantra 7 (not available anymore) for the same purpose. Sometimes a castle IS a nice thing to have.
Love this tent. Had it 3 years- great value.
Thanks for sharing another adventure, your experience & great insights!
Yeah...that's an ok tent I suppose....now my cabelas xwt 12x12 ...THAT'S a tent! None the less still love your vids!!! Keep me coming and ill keep watching!

You're one smart dude. Thanks for the videos and advice man.
i knew you liked coyote tan but didn't think you would duracoat the titan.
cool video!
Usaf1964 is so right. My idea of roughing it is a queen size bed and no HBO, course if I have wifi there's always nutnfancy videos and Netflix!
Great review. Really like this because my kids are young and not ready for bush whacking yet so I need some good family car camping gear. Think you'll do more?

Keep up the good work Nutn!
Great video Nutn.
Hey Veri, I have a request for Nutn to test a folding saw called the Silky Gomboy 300....I think its something the community should see a review of.
Dude that's a rad tent!
This is listed as 3 season I think? Seems strong enough to make a good 4 season in all but the harshest winter conditions.
Nice video and some good times!
Great review and thank you guys.
off topic - What jacket is Bug wearing?
Nice! Did you cut a footprint for this tent as well?
Nice tent... but for a single guy like me.. that tent is to big.. it's NICE though.. dang!
I still love my Kelty Gunison 2.1 =D
Thanks for the great review.
Wow! Someone is up late! :) thanks again Nutn...any chance you would like to come up to the New England area? :)
Nice I wish I had an rei close to my area the closest one here would be in san antonio
Love the review. Thanks for the good data. What do you think of the Turtle Tuff Tents? I am also looking at the Coleman Instant 6 and the Browning Black Canyon 6. Do you have any comparisons?
what a sweet tent
East of LA? Dude I wish I had known! I would have joined you guys!
yeah there were lots of places we could go with this, but this is a family show..
TNP, have you reviewed the arctic oven? I read that it has a fly for a camp stove. Also, what are the philosophies of car camping versus backpacking. Mobility versus defend ability and speed versus duration?
Hilleberg makes a serious mountain tent.
It was snowing here in utah too it was a cold camp
How about a review between the fancy sleeping bag and Buggets military 4-pc sleeping bag?
Love the adventure videos
Thanks guys. Great review.
"I love a lot of beans... we are having beans tonight BuggetNuster."
Later that night, "Goddamn you BuggetNuster!!!"
That eyebrow vent looks like that hole of a pill box might be good for hunting without leaving the tent.
Yes sir I do. It is on my page. I have multiple videos.
Nice vid. You shoukd check out and review the Marmot Limestone 6. Its pretty awesome.
This was actually pretty interesting~
I've got this tent it is HUGE inside
Purchased a Marmot Limestone 6p in fall. Yet to use for car camping but seems similar. What is the shelter also you guys were using? Any thoughts on the Paha Que shelters for base camp use?
Nutnfancy Project, Sponsored by Nissan.
Love your Nissan Rides!!
awesome video sir
Seem tape will just turn into a fail.. I just dont understand why tent makers cant get a peice of fabric big enough to avoid putting a seem in the nmiddle of a tent floor that will just fail after walking on a few times. Nice Ient and video..
Thanks for the vids keep them coming
Thanks
great tent
What are your thoughts on the maratac AAA??? 115 lumens on high 18 lumens on medium and 2 lumens on low. full water proof super small and light weight. Takes 1 AAA battery
Yeah, ive been camping with my buddy for over 20 years, time goes to quick
great review, love REI gear
Interesting you'd review this as a winter tent. It's only rated as a 3 season. Your thoughts on this?
man! I wanna do what you do!!! im envious...
its got the same pole system as my Outbound Backpacker 3. love that tent!!!
