Hi everyone this is JD, your gadget review friend.
From someone who is living in Canada and only has few options thanks to a very healthy relationship of phone manufacturers to tp our network companies, this phone wont be seen anywhere.
Its just when you go online checking for Samsung, Apple or Google competitors. That's where I found Oppo and fell inlove with the X5 Pro. I think as a consumer who is not as familiar on the brand although I know popular on some region. Its hard to shed one grand for something promising yet unfamiliar.
So, I give it go, went ahead and buy it, used for a good few months and here my thought with the awesome Oppo X5 Pro. Lets dive into it.

Sadly I don't think we will be seeing expandable memory in theses flagships ever, apart from the Sony 1 series
Somehow the display on this phone is even better than apple and samsung imo. Display is superb.

Is the Dimensity 9000 worth getting? There is no problem with notifications if it is in Chinese
I think so, its a fast processor. I got MediaTek Dimensity 1080 and that performs well, so I imagine Dimenstiy 9000. Its should be fast for everyday task.

Washed colors and very dull pictures - this is the verdict after one year of use of Google Pixel 6a. I really want to get rid of it. It is a poor case, which should be recommended very carefully and not for me of course.

I would never buy a phone that requires a screensaver to be fitted at all times because the glass will scratch up with it being "victus" meaning spoiling that beautiful screen!

you have 2 sim cards? I do, so its worth it for me. But... the selfie camera of the S22 plus is so much better. I hate the selfie of Oppo X5 Pro, it is 1080p and shaky.

Why the hell reviewers still cry about the fact that the smartphones now days don't have anymore the headphone jack....ffs its 2023 around the corner and we don't have headphone jack anymore till 2018.... people already learned to live without that dynasty feature its not a downsize anymore the jack... stop put it as a con for the smartphones.

Patil I respect your unique view but when it comes to music it is the dynasty of headphones that reign the music lovers with the simplicity and universality of device comparability and ease of pairing that demand a 3.5mm Jack delivery!!!

Liked the video. A few things I wud disagree with you on wud be face unlock with mask on(never works) , battery backup on dual sim not that great,overheats like crazy when on video calls and front cam is really bad.

I hate it when people say “what are you gonna use the extra zoom of the s22 ultra for” cause as a photography enthusiast, having that 10x telephoto can get you a really nice pic of faraway scenery, like mountains, or capturing the sunset between buildings, etc. but I understand some people are just average phone consumers I guess

I'd prob pull out my real camera for that. Everyday just want some good quality pics now I have young. My last phone was basic oppo but still going fine so like the brands. Xmas sale 45% off so can't go wrong compared to other big names

It still lags and were they put the camera on the front is kinda cool but annoying I also hate how there's a big black lip at the bottom they really should have push the screen down. I also don't like how it's plastic. Other then that I don't want to sit her on TH-cam asking for a phone lol I just figured I would ask and see what answer I get plus the video with galaxy S22 vs other phones make me want it more. And I can't afford another phone at the moment at least

Mine is chinese version, chinese rom too. Do you have problem with notification? There's a time that I can't receive any notifcation.
Also, do you know if you can flash it to global rom?
Yeah, I was kinda pissed off in the beginning. Go to Settings > Notification and check every apps you want to receive notifications from.
