I'm really interested in a course about selling scrapbooks on kdp: how do you make the patterns, the niche search... everything related. Great video. I just subscribed to this channel and the one about gardening since plants are a great stress reliever for me.
I just published three coloring books in the last two months. All my family bought them, lol! The process of creating coloring books was so fun! I have been inspired by your videos and have made a goal to create 100 books in the next year. I would love to know more about creating scrap paper books and uploading them on KDP. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for your honesty, without giving away your designs! I am a tech dinosaur, so would appreciate the steps to create first book or even create a pattern on Canva!!
Great video Mel. I just started my first scrapbook attempt but after learning more from your 'hints & tips' I will definitely redo! 😄 Look forward to your update on it. 👍🙂
Oh I really hope it was helpful and not off-putting! I’ve definitely found that good quality repeating patterns, combining niches and a great front cover has helped get my scrapbook paper off the ground!
@@SparrowsEndBusinessDiaries Certainly not off putting - you included a lot of info that I'd not even thought of, so thank you very much and looking forward to your future vids. I love this because I've seen the progress and the process of growth since you started this channel. It's good to see that you've now found your rhythm with kdp and youtube and you're actually starting to make money. Love it. ❤️
You mentioned scrapbook paper books a little while ago so I started to dabble. I researched and niched down and found a gap, my 1 book is far more successful and profitable than my 5 colouring books combined! I have started to expand in this area however...another TH-camr has picked up on this particular niche and now I'm worried it's going to explode. Like you said, if I focus on a quality book then it should be ok. I love how happy you are in this video, it's much better than ebay right?
It’s sooooo much better than ebay! I must make the effort with KDP so I can shift over to that being the more dominant income. I’m so glad you’re seeing success with your books (especially the scrapbook paper!). Wishing you lots of luck and do keep me updated with how things are going! 🙂
@@SparrowsEndBusinessDiaries I took your advice yesterday and compared my cover to other non self published titles. I thought my cover was pretty and then realised it looked like I had thrown it together in Canva...I have tweaked it and I love it now. Just waiting for the updates to publish, thank you for this advice! Quick quetion, do your scrapbook paper books publish as low content? My first 2 didn't, I think Amazon changed it, but my subsequent ones have been changed to low content by Amazon. I was just curious.
Excellent video! Lots of tips for us to put into practice. Thank you so much. Congratulations also on your success now and into the future! Would love to see some samples of scrapbook paper books - not yours - but others you find inspiring as a starting place for those of us new to this.
I am VERY interested in learning everything you are willing to share about creating scrapbook paper books. Not sure if it's the same in the UK, but here in the US "Bullet Journals" are EXTREMELY popular. As I was watching your video I was thinking it would be a great way to expand your scrapbook paper income stream by making them available as creative additions to bullet journal page designs, since the appeal of making a bullet journal is that you get to personalize every single page anyway you want to. I have seen some bullet journal pages that people have designed specifically tailored to their personality and favorite things in life. Which is why I thought about bullet journals when you started talking about creating designs for scrapbook papers by combining two or more micro-niches. - I have journals all my life starting at age 9, and I discovered scrapbooking when I was 15. I have always found journaling to be extremely helpful for processing my thoughts and feelings in a way that helps me see things more clearly. Scrapbooking took it one step farther and allows me to let my creative mind run wild and channel that into creating a personalized and unique book (or time capsule) of not just the random thoughts swimming around in my head, but a completely customized beautiful piece of art filled with the most important memories I create in life. Having a tangible, multi-textured, multi-colored book engages many different senses, (touch, sight and hearing the sound of turning each page) actually helps our brain to not only remember the memories we put in the scrapbook more clearly for a longer period of time, but it's also very beneficial to the healing process when the subject of the scrapbook is no longer with us. Creating the scrapbook in their honor also helps us create new, positive experiences that we can reflect on when we still feel overwhelming sadness when think of them. But these are based on my own personal experiences throughout the last 30+ years. But I would love to learn anything you would be willing to share about your passion for creating scrapbook pages, because you have lit that spark of creativity, possibly, excitement, and hope that I have been missing for quite awhile now. Learning from you and trying my hand at a new creative process would have a very positive affect on my mental and emotional health, as well. 🎨👍🏻
What a great new niche!! Would love to know a bit more - do you select premium paper? Do you leave the back of the page blank? Did you run ads? What's your keyword research strategy? And a biggie that I always worry about - how do you ensure that you are clear from copyright? Where do you get your images from? Sorry for all the questions. It's great to see someone making such useful videos!
Hi Katie, thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to write such encouraging comments! I’ll add your questions to a Q&A vid about scrapbook paper and don’t apologise for asking questions - I need to know what you need to know so I can tailor my videos to it!
Lovely, useful video, as always. I would be interested in you talking about the sizes of books that work better AND as a Brit, what the end user actually does with these scrap book sheets of paper? I really have no idea! Thank you.
Make a good book! ❤ Love that and agree! OMG I have questions!! You are the first one I’ve heard talk about “scrap book pads.” How big are they (dimensions)? How do you price them? What is the profit margin, given that they are in color? Would love a demo on creating a repeating pattern, though I can find vids on that. Also keyword strategy 😂 I’m interested in all of it. Congrats on your success and I love your videos!

Hi, thanks for a great video. wondering if you would make double-sided sheets and is so, would you have the same image on both sides of the sheet please? thanks in advance
Absolutely! I’m currently planning on a mini-series showing how to make good quality scrapbooks. It won’t be finished for a while though but I’ll keep people posted.
Really interesting, thank you. I have been selling on Amazon KDP for about 20 months and scrapbooking papers have been on my list to consider. Print on Demand and creating colouring pages have taken up the majority of my time, but I am allocating 1 day per week to KDP now, so perhaps this will be a niche I can develop? A lot of the ‘papers’ would be useful for POD, printables etc too.
Yes, I’ve got an Etsy shop where I list digital papers. I’ve only got about 6 on there right now but already I get the odd sale! All the little amounts add up over time 🙂
I've been thinking about starting to create some of these scrap book pads for a while. I haven't' made a book in colour yet though. I'd like to know about page count, use of colour, size of the books etc. I believe they are usually square books? Thanks :)
Thanks for watching Denise. I have a lot of fun creating these books. I will add your questions to a scrapbook paper Q&A video so I can answer them all at once!
You said that you used licensed images and created new designs by combining a few of them. But in creative fabric, for example, it said that it is forbidden to create a new design by combining more than one product and sell it. I don't know what to do about this license, I am very confused.
Another question. I’ve been looking at some of the pads on Amazon and reading the reviews. A lot of complaints I’ve found are about how, obviously, these aren’t printed on cardstock level scrapbook paper. Would you recommend mentioning that in your product description?
Absolutely! I clearly explain in my descriptions what to expect. There will still be some people who don’t read it and are disappointed but for the most part it should cut down on negative reviews.
Thank you for the video! I have heard you mention scrapbook paper in your other videos and have been curious what you meant. Can I assume you are choosing premium color when you upload these? What size do you usually make? Thanks again!
