Great lap - not sure why manufacturers don't disclose the driver name. The upshifts seem a bit slow, although I remember from an interview that it's just the torque fill from the electric motor and it's actually still going up in speed.
Its because almost all dual clutch has a torque/power rating that is surpassed by this coswroth engine, the amg is similar they use a sequential dog gear gearbox, similar to the whiny gearboxes from a gt3/mp2/lmp1 race cars. Its not necessarily single clutch but its similar so thats why its slower
It's not because of DCT at all. It's actually using a racing single SAT/AMT, much like the AMG One but electrified rather than the hydraulic system in the AMG One. The reason it's slow, is deliberately, to keep the drivetrain from propelling you into a wall or back of another car when in slow moving traffic or parking. As racing powertrains tend to be a bit more sensitive and flighty than a traditional road car, to compromise, the transmission is actually set up, to gimp shifts a bit.
Amazing lap! I can tell all the journalist were intimidated by how fast it is, finally got to see a proper driver get show us what the Valkyrie can really achieve. Now I’m curious about the AMG One because it’s qualifying lap mode is a PROBLEM

More than a couple. The car is capable of producing 4,000 lbs of downforce with the track pack, but a dedicated slick is needed. Cup 2/Cup 2R’s can’t handle the aerodynamic load so the active aero bleeds downforce at speed. This car is simply too advanced for any road tire. Tire manufacturers can’t keep up with the progress of hypercars, it’s interesting. Making a tire for the road demands and the track is no small feat.
