You can use this terms not only between siblings but also friends, cousins etc. it is used between younger and older person but I would say you’ll hear GeGe or Ge a lot while DiDi/Di not as much because it’s more polite to call someone older than you using this term rather than just casually using only his name.
You’ll also often meet name+Ge / GeGe, like YiBo calls “Zhan Ge”
