അവന് ഉപമ കള്വഴി പല കാര്യങ്ങള് അവരെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചു. അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അവന് പറഞ്ഞു: കേള്ക്കുവിന്, ഒരു വിതക്കാരന് വിതയ്ക്കാന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു. വിതച്ചപ്പോള് വിത്തുകളില് ചിലതു വഴിയരികില് വീണു. പക്ഷികള് വന്ന് അവ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. മറ്റുചിലത് മണ്ണ് അധികമില്ലാത്ത പാറപ്പുറത്തു വീണു. മണ്ണിന് ആഴമില്ലാതിരുന്നതിനാല് അതു പെട്ടെന്നു മുളച്ചുപൊങ്ങി. സൂര്യനുദിച്ചപ്പോള് അതു വെയിലേറ്റു വാടുകയും വേരില്ലാതിരുന്നതിനാല് കരിഞ്ഞുപോവുകയുംചെയ്തു. വേറെ ചിലതു മുള്ച്ചെടികള്ക്കിടയില് വീണു. മുള്ച്ചെടികള് വളര്ന്ന് അതിനെ ഞെരുക്കിക്ക ളഞ്ഞു. അതു ഫലം പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചില്ല. ശേഷിച്ചവിത്തുകള് നല്ല മണ്ണില് പതിച്ചു. അവ തഴച്ചുവളര്ന്ന്, മുപ്പതുമേനിയും അറുപതുമേനിയും നൂറുമേനിയും ഫലം വിളയി ച്ചു. അവന് പറഞ്ഞു: കേള്ക്കാന് ചെവിയുള്ളവന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ. മര്ക്കോസ് 4 : 2-9
