  • This is the second installment from our trip to Bavaria in January. Besides being known for red beer and Bavarian sausages, there is a sad side to the city. The Nazi "Coliseum" or Assembly Hall building, the Zeppelin grandstand and the giant grounds for the NSDAP party conventions. We traveled to see for ourselves what the pages of history hold today.
Nuremberg was the third most important city in Nazi Germany and one could even say the "heart" of the Third Reich. Hitler held almost all party congresses there. In this part of the video we will go there.
Also we could not help but visit the court, where the famous Nuremberg trial of war criminals of Nazi Germany took place. It was there, in the Palace of Justice, that the International Military Tribunal of eight judges representing the four countries of the anti-Hitler coalition met. That is why in front of the entrance to the courthouse there is a banner with the flag of the USSR and the inscription in Russian: Memorial. Nuremberg trials (Мемориал. Нюрнбергский процесс).
And after that we went to the Street of Human Rights and Freedoms, where on every pole there are lines of laws engraved in different languages of the world.
And to dilute this feeling of sadness a bit, I added views of the city, shots from the subway and just snippets of our day there.
I want to remind you that this is not a history issue or some serious travel show, it's just a blog and I'm not an expert. I shared a small slice of historical facts that I know and remember myself from my school days. That's all. Enjoy the show.
