    The people you have in the group don't have enough experience of living in Calgary/Alberta. You should ask them again in a couple of years. Additionally you have ppl that are self-employed. You should include people from different work sectors (i.e. doctors, engineers, accountants, truck drivers etc)

    I landed in Calgary in 2019 to get an idea of the city. Nice place but slow-paced life compared to the other bustling cities in Canada. Calgary is close to most tourist places - so good for people who like traveling and outdoor activities. The job opportunities were limited in most sectors I feel. But I guess with more immigration - these things will change here. Like you guys said, Toronto & Vancouver could be good options for those coming alone or maybe young couples.But places like Calgary, Edmonton and also Regina now are good option for newcomers with families. Please do a video about that too :)

    All this is short sighted perspective of living in any city in Canadá. Please spend at least 5 years in a new country before you start spreading gyaan. Also you are kids …. few of you have family and your world view of things seems so limited. So request you to broaden perspective live life beyond buying houses and then come here and share knowledge. It’s not just about earning dollars it is much much more beyond that.

When I tell people here people don't move to US only for money, they are like "you don't know anything about US". Whole Canada is an immigration scam especially for tech workers. I studied and worked in US, moved to Canada and after 2 years realize why people who move from US to Canada get frustrated. It's not salary at all. Everytime I drive from US to Canada, I start to feel depressed. Over expensive houses, broken roads, broken healthcare system - had surgeries both in US and Canada so know what I am talking about. Everything in US is so nice, good quality roads, well maintained highways with proper signaling. In canada, even construction roads are not properly marked. Met a mechanical engineer with master's degree driving uber in Canada from last 4 years. He got job in mechanical engineering in US right after he got his Canadian citizenship and told he is finally moving to US on TN visa.

      I have not been to U.S but I do agree with you on most of your comments and contrasting challenges. Canada is a nation of low level jobs. Most people in Canada even with higher degrees and better education survive with survival jobs and minimal wages with few as exception. Canada is a dying first world nation transitioning to third world.

      I’m from US I feel the opposite when I went to the GTA recently and surrounding Ontario, I really loved it and I would strongly consider moving to Canada and the GTA specifically. It felt like a more chill, diverse & accepting version of America. No doubt America has diversity too but in Canada because of smaller populations, the proportions of minorities appears higher. Canada seems like a great place.

    • @asadb1990
      @asadb1990 ปีที่แล้ว

      @alchemistbrotv1707 yeah i hear you. I grew up in the gta and then moved around to calgary, ottawa, Saskatoon, etc. And i must say gta is the only part of canada that feels like a big city. Vancouver is not bad but its super expensive and is more like a huge suburb.

    Moved to Calgary in July as Toronto was full of people dancing on Dundas square and Rent in Toronto was rising day by day. And I came to Canada to avoid the crowd so Toronto was not making any sense to me.
    My office allowed me to move and the state has 5% GST, 13% in Ontario and then the tipping culture in this inflated market was not making any sense to me.
    Saved good amount of money while purchasing a new car as well (on GST). and the job market is not great for hourly wage earners so their won't be too much crowd here anyways.

    When all youtubers started making such videos, they said Calgary is going to be next Toronto ( A joke of decade or may be century 😂). It can become Toronto, but just in house prices only by watching Alberta is Calling videos.

And after 6 months i get laid off right before christmas. I now move to phoenix, az for few years to work and earn money while my house in ottawa is rented and want to eventually move to southern Ontario anywhere in the gta at large. I want to save up and invest my money so i can buy and order my house and move once house is built.

We are so used to having school in the street at walking distance here in Ontario. and Kindergarden has 2 years here full time like 8 am to 3pm. May be when the kids grow up we'll look into it again. And we did hear about new schools e.g. in Mahogny etc openeing up so that's probably great for future. Who know if at that time Calgary will be affordable or not. Ye sab 1-2 saal pehle Calgary aaye hue immigrants hain. They have’t seen a boom-busy cycle yet.
    When remote work ends, these will be the first people to run back to Ontario and curse Calgary. They will complain about Calgary’s weather, unemployment, traffic, and violence in downtown.
    I have lived in Calgary for 20 years and seen hundreds of desis over two decades (before and after TH-cam vlogs) who could not sustain 3 winters in Calgary

      @@CanadaCoupleYeah just checked it makes sense now. A good video overall different views by different people but good for the people. The rent in Calgary, house prices and interest rates have gone a lot higher now. I hear a lot from people that even renting is not easily affordable for most people, this happened since many people bought 2-3 houses and there is less houses compared to influx of people, But hopefully things will stabilise once there happens a proper management by the govt.

    Damn I hate Calgary. Last winter I was there in Calgary and my car got damaged because of hail. My car price just dropped drastically. My poor Airbnb guy his house window pane got damaged and part of his roof gutter and roof also got damaged. It might have costed him like 2-3k to fix it. The winters suck big time an additional winter month is very depressing. Plus due to huge population influx, Banff also has become like Manali, too much of people littering the beautiful place.
