How can you deny such a wonderful gift of Baptism! If you were Baptized Catholic you will always be Catholic and a child of God. You may choose to be a non practicing Catholic but not a good choice in my opinion. In his dialogue with Nicodemus, Jesus taught that Baptism was necessary for salvation. "No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit" (Jn 3:5). After his Resurrection, Jesus met with the eleven Apostles and gave them the commission to preach the Gospel and baptize, telling them, "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mk 16:16).
"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." So all who are validly Baptized are Baptized Catholic and it is by their Catholic Baptism that they enter the Body, the Church. Don't assume he's denying the validity of Baptism just because he may not identify as Catholic anymore
Chris, I am a prodigal son. I didn't come back to the true Catholic Church until I was 82. What restored my faith was reading the "True Story of Our Lady of Fatima" it may restore your faith too.

It was a lecture, not a church service. Going to Mass is free. Have you ever been to Mass. It's the Wedding Super of the Lamb that the Bible talks about. I hope you got more out of his lecture than just how much the seats cost. I was so moved and inspired from this lecture. How sad if you missed so much that all you can comment on is the cost of the seats. You listened for free...... listen again please. I've sat on the floor with my kids. Pregnant. It's fine. The whole church was packed. We came in late. I could have sat in the front stage chairs but my husband did not want to come with so I went to the floor and he stood outside. I never had to pay for chairs at mass or free drinking water or books there so I can read .or anything. I mainly gone to California mass ❤
People like you only see negativity never good...okay if people paid for a lecture ask your self what that money is used for...if it's not you paying why should it concern you...
It's a shame that culture trump's God's Word. The theatrics ( costume, audience, film etc.) are man's version of faith and religion. If people are drawn to the comedy and charisma it will only disappoint when we have to stand before God. Read the Bible for yourself. This is God's way of reaching and teaching for our eternal souls salvation.
