Please do 1 on Princess Cruise.
It’s on the list. 😊Check the comments thread I did post information there.
Here is my comment from first video regarding streaming, meanwhile also shortly mentioned in this video here:
You can avoid ship's plan for streaming. At home just download shows/films, you would like to watch, to your device. Whilst cruising just log out of your ship's WiFi account, but still stay on airplane mode. Then you can watch all your downloads whenever you like, you can stop them, everything works like being home. When being logged in at ship's WiFi (even if you have no streaming option) you cannot watch downloads because streaming apps are always looking in background for connection within WiFi.
It works, I did this several times when cruising - for example watching Titanic❤
at observation lounge with direct view on ocean, just unbeatable.🚢
What cruise line? I know hubby does download and watch his shows but he doesn’t turn off WiFi while on Royal. I guess definitely good to know if it isn’t working we’ll just turn off WiFi and stay in airplane mode. (Just like flying) 🫶🏻
@@CruiseSavvyIt's with Norwegian Cruise Line, but it doesn't really matter - see as follows:
With new devices watching downloads from N.... only work without WiFi connection. N....app is standard app on new devices and app is directly connected to IP address of device. And with software update of N...app on older devices it's the same. This new method was adjusted through N...to avoid, that people can share normal N...account on different devices (except premium N...accounts). It doesn't matter, whether you watch downloads on flight/ship/hotel etc. All downloads are registered in background with IP address. Wifi has to be off and airplane mode on.
Do a video on buying internet on PRINCESS we are leaving soon
When do you leave? I will add it to my list. In the meantime, you can check out their website or ask your travel agent. Have a wonderful cruise.
When I am on land or port, I will use travel pass on Verizon, only $10.00 per 24 hours.
we were on princess last year and there was no notification . but the tracker board in the hall pointed out where my wife was
my phone turns off the wifi connection when I turn on hotspot . so it would not work
Hello! we are taking an Alaska cruise next month since we’re going to be in Alaska. We can use our Internet in port correct without any crazy charges?
Question, If I don't want any internet plan, but want to maybe post on Facebook when I'm at a port, when I connect to a wifi in port, am I still in airplane mode? Both videos were very helpful, thank you.
Hi! Glad they helped. If you find "free wifi" in port, stay in airplane mode and you can post on FB. If you come off airplane mode you will need an international calling plan or you will be charged international roaming rates. Have a great cruise!
Do not post on FB while you are on vacation and let everyone know you are not at home. Burglars are watching.
Hi... What about just want to receive and reply TEXT? Is there any plan for that? BTW, my 1st cruise trip with Carnival. Thank you for all great tips?
If the person you’re communicating with is on land and you’re at sea, no. ☹️
Thanks for the video.
Here is correction about sending and reading procedure WhatsApp messages:
If the recipient has in his settings adjusted, that his contacts cannot see, when he is online, then the 2 ticks will definitively not turn into blue. Recipient has received message, but you cannot see, whether he has read it. 2 ticks always mean, message is sent. Only 1 tick means, message is pending.
Do you buy the Cruise Internet plan or do you unplug? Let us know! 🛳️
