I love the way you put this into words. For me, i felt a similar contrasting mood, but between her Marionette's Stage song and her Ethyria cover. As someone who loves listening to Enna's version (though i have a slightly different interpretation of Enna's), you're right in that the song takes on a whole new feel when Maria sings it. At first, there's Anguish in her Marionette's Stage song/mv, where Maria regrets being granted Life. By lacking friendship and love, she feels it is no better than the days where she was controlled by her strings. Then there's Hope in her Ethyria cover/art, where the love and magic from her friends, having truly set Maria free, allows her to dance freely & shows others (us) that Life is beautiful.
