I would imagine better cooling but cutting open the lower section of the venting on the wheel well. Too much air pressure in the back will create a wall of air in the front, preventing air from pushing through optimally.

Does the 540i have one on the drivers side?

Great question! The 540i is single turbo so only 1 auxiliary radiator on the passenger. In the v8 twin turbo 550i or M5 you'll have 2!

@@FullBoltOnGarage so that’ll be on the passenger side right?
I’m asking because I had a coolant leak on the driver’s side. It turned out to be the expansion tank which I replaced. During the process I did a mess in the engine bay with coolant spilling everywhere lol. I still get a few drops in the front of the bumper on the drivers side. I checked all the hoses and the expansion tank and everything is dry so I really don’t understand where that’s coming from. Might be some residue from all the coolant spilled?
It’s right under the fog light/grill on the drivers side

Yess!! This is normal after a coolant tank failure. There's a pocket where the undercarriage is. It's located directly in the path of the coolant tank downwards. It usually makes a little puddle and slowly seeps out. Tap the undercarriage directly in front of the driver wheel, and I'll bet more coolant will come out.

    Don’t go to a mechanic. Watch TH-cam videos. Be a man. 😅
