Joel calling Etho a "stupid little Canadian man" made me laugh so much 😆
timestamp?
He’s just quirky, he said it himself!
@@UnOfficalHostOfTPOT around 30:47 !
YESSS!!! I will forever use it.

Doctors: That's a career ending injury.
Joel 20-30 yrs later: That injury is probably the reason I have the career I have now
A career starting injury
Despite his egotistical persona on yt(which I love), Joel is so aware and humble. The amount of times he said “I’m lucky” and “I’m privileged” was so real of him. But when skizz kinda said that he does deserve this and put in the work made me tear up.

Love Joel live laugh love Joel
Joel is literally designed for creating. His interest in learning the tricks keeps him hooked and his charisma even out of character is entertaining
I’d love to see an interview with Lizzie! ❤ She is the reason I play Minecraft. She taught me that girls can be gamers without trying to pretend to be “one of the boys”. Just be yourself and have fun in your own way.
Yes, we want Lizzie on now!!!
Yes! I was just about to comment this.
I'd love to see LIzzie, she is so much fun and such a bright, clever lady.
I'm willing to bet this is already in the pipeline. We don't even have to ask.
It would be beneficial, and for balance, to interview more women, to see content creation from a woman's perspective. How do they juggle video production and laundry? Not only an interview with Lizzie, but with FalseSymmetry, StressMonster, and ZombieCleo.
This will be a challenge for "the boys", no doubt. But worth the experience.
@@qubit0000 I'm glad you brought up False, Stress, and Cleo as I've been hoping for Cleo for the longest time after Impulse and Skizz dropped the ball with Gem. But I'd rather see each of them get their own podcasts than shoved into a "girl gamer" special episode.
I would love to see Pearl on the podcast!! ❤️
Or LDshadowlady🙏
Yea ❤
Me too!
I was just thinking this earlier!!
yesss omg, i wanna hear more insight about her
Joel is literally such an idol in my life, I am so happy for him to be on this podcast:) I have been waiting all week for pt 2
real
YES!!!
FR!!
Same!
YUPPP :)
If I’m being honest I feel like Joel is one of the nicest people you can meet
Even tho he calls all of his viewers stupid idiots on a regular basis! 🤣🤣
@@Hope_B-68742 smallishbeans does that. Joel doesn't
It’s his way of showing us love 😂
@rtg4094 facts. It's the roastmaster law. If you don't like/friends with the people, you don't get to roast them.
@Trauma284 I’m laughing cause that’s how I treat all my good friends. We just take playful jabs at each other 😂
Impulse saying seeing fans in the wild like they’re pokemons 😂😂
pretty accurate gotta say
It's true. I'm a psyduck. ;-)
The fact that he openly said that he is socially awkward was so cool. As someone who is also socially awkward, watching some of his interactions in videos is so relatable, which is kinda hard to find in other creators. I love him so much even more and
Loved the podcast ❤
Keep up the great work guys

As soon as Joel said that he gets sea sick and motion sickness I got instant flashbacks to real life 😂
As a usually non podcast person, I absolutely love this podcast
100% with you here. Normally zone out but happily listening along here
Imp and Skizz is the only podcast I regularly watch. Not much interested in podcasts otherwise. They're special
100% agree. This is the only podcast I care about. Impulse and Skizzleman are not only some of my favorite creators, but as a man in my mid 30's they're very relatable as well.
@@Kiwimarauder honestly can say this is the first podcast I’ve ever actually watched. There is some elements I still don’t particularly love so won’t be a huge follower, but I will say they clearly have a talent for interviewing! I enjoy watching them interview the hermits and other TH-camrs because they let us get to know the person behind the persona
Lol same only podcast I ever watched until very recently discovered smosh has a podcast so I've been trying to check it but time is seriously an issue lol
I was totally not stalking the channel... 😅
It always posts while Im on my first break. So I know I can listen immediately lol
I've had notifications on for ages for this exact reason lol!
Same I was just waiting on the vidio like checking every hour or so
I know it's always gonna be ready at 10am my time. And I'm usually getting ready for my teen's 11am appt. It's much nicer getting ready with imp and Skizz in my ear! But I'm impatient about it! 😅
There are very few TH-camrs who I will drop everything I'm doing and instantly watch their videos when they come out, and Joel is one of those.
righttt and i dont even watch alot of mc youtubers mainly just him and lizzie
haha, for me i save the good videos to watch when i can really focus on it, maybe have some food with it too.
@@hellomelisaaa me too i love to watch long videos while eating food
@@klosux best feeling when u have ur fav meal lined up w a good video 💯
15:55 i heard 'flirt with everybody' and i nodded, that was very joel coded
Wait, huh? I’m confused..😂
I was genuinely sad when the podcast ended because I could’ve watched for hours. One of my favorite podcast episodes ever including the previous one with Joel. I feel like there was so much room for him to speak which was so lovely
1/3
The thing they were saying that Etho attracts older viewers is kind of true cause I was wearing my life series sweatshirt at school and my math teacher told me they watched it too and we talked about and he said his favorite person to watch was Etho!
PearlescentMoon would be an absolute awesome guest to invite to the podcast! Y’all could discuss her brilliant capacity to visualize and bring builds to life, her unique style composed of complex organics, her friendly personality, how she’s found her voice and feels so incredibly confident and natural in conversing, how drastically she contributes to the positive and exciting atmosphere of whatever SMP she finds herself in, her experiences in participating in MCC, her views in regards to the TH-cam platform, as well as a little bit about her life leading up to such an illustrious career.
Impulse and Skittleman, you should definitely consider it… please? 😊
FR FR Pearl is one of my favorite hermits
Also, how she is Queen of Decked Out, and has embraced being awesome at so many things!
Absolutely not. I can't imagine having to look at her face for an hour straight. yuck!
I want to hear about how she got involved in Build Battles with Grian. Because although I loved the building contestants, sometimes the supporting cast stole the show with their background shenanigans. That was the first place I saw her.
@@Xbros03 how are we supposed to watch her for 1 hour straight with that goofy face. oh my lord 😂
It says a lot about Joel that he had the drive and self discipline to do this without other job experience. Talent on multiple levels and a charming and humble personality. His parents must be so proud, kudos to them for encouraging him when he was first inspired and provided evidence that he could do it. Another great interview.🎉
Watching Joel on a podcast is so therapeutic! It's so crazy to think that I started watching him and lizzie when I was 8 and I'm 19 now 😭
It’s insane, likewise I experienced the same thing
Ikr, him and lizzie were my literal childhood and I still watch them very often nowadays! (For me it's been about 8 and a half years)
As someone who just discovered Hermitcraft last year, it’s has never been about the game but more about the personalities. Maybe it’s my older age as I’m in my forties
Same! I just started playing again and have to ask my teenager for help! Hermitcraft has given me so many ideas.
I've been following since i was about 12 years old and I'm now 19 but I can say 100% it has always been the same for me
I'm in my 60s started watching hermit craft in season 7 when my kids got me playing Minecraft it's been during COVID and after that enjoyable content and fun watching the Hermits ..It's a family of friends that play and have a blast, and it helps me with ideas in my own little world of Minecraft..It's ageless!
49:49 i swear this is the most relatable thing ever i LOVE travel (like physically being on a train, plane etc) because i feel so devoid of responsibility. i’ve never heard anyone else say it before joel is so real for this
It still baffles me that we had backpack mods back when Notch was the only dev and because he said “I don’t want to add functionality that is already made with mods” we have been stuck with a bad inventory ever since
I don't think you can really blame that for it, there's been tons of content added since he made that comment that was already covered by mods. Heck, horses literally came from hiring a mod developer who had made a mod that included horses.
I have watched all these podcast episodes, and one thing I am starting to realize, everyone needs a friend like Skizz.
The world would be a decidedly better place if it had more people like him
Absolutely. Skizz is an amazing person
Love to see Grain on the podcast
Who is this grain character???
@@Safnite07 he seems like a pesky bird
YESSSS!
I think he meant Giran, the guy with the orange ish shirt
@@TheVampireFreddo grain giran who are these people 😂😂
26:49 I think when Minecraft dies and Hermitcraft ends, there will still be a place for remaining active hermits to put on story lines with friends. But honestly Minecraft may be around for another 10+ years. It definitely has the legs to continue fostering a creative atmosphere that will continue to generate interest.
Impulse and his bunker. Love that Joel was like"well if you prank me, I'll just prank your bunker." Such a wholesome group of people. Love how humble he is in real life. his funny, angry beans skit that he does. ❤
Sometimes you just get a good vibe from someone and Joel 100% gives that off. Such a great episode, I had a smile on my face the whole time!
As someone who is both older and fairly new to Minecraft, I can say that I am a new Etho fan myself. He was probably the third or fourth Minecrafter I started watching on TH-cam. Impulse, you were the first! 😁
01:03
joel's story has made me admire him even more icl. i had the same injury at 12 years old, 3 surgeries down, and almost 10 years later, im still dealing with the damage from it. it's great that he's been able to build an amazing platform from such a debilitating injury 👏
Joel’s comment about coming back to Minecraft to watch Etho is me, got me watching season 10
Hearing Joel say he is socially awkward makes me relate to him so much
I’ve been watching Joel since I was little him and Lizzie have been huge inspirations to me to just go out and have fun and always be yourself. They are both such great people to watch and I love the feeling of getting to know more about Joel and others on your podcast so special thanks to impulse and skizz whom I also love for making that happen ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Im a Joel and Lizzie OG found them in 2014/15 when I was a lonely pre-teen. Found Grian in 2015/16 doing biuld swaps and build schools, then he joined Hermitcraft and ive been a viewer of probably 75% if not more of the Hermits sinse. But what really blew up my Imp and Skizz love was a mixture of the life series and Impulse joining the botem hole crew. I definetly watched lots of Impulse during season 6, I remember the creation of iTrade and biulding in that little pirate cove and I was soo blown away with everything
Love this chat! It's frustrating to feel like you're doing 'everyhing right' in the content sphere and still not getting more than ~100 views. The auditorium analogy at 58:16 made me self-check big time: that's 2 auditoriums for my last video! 😵💫
I’ve been subscribed to people like dantdm,Joel and Lizzie for over 10 years and I still watch every video
Omg next episode will be the 100th
Yupp
it is amusing hearing Joel talk about how the viewers that have been around for 10+ years are pretty rare these days, speaking as one of those viewers who’s been watching Etho, then the redstoners, then eventually hermitcraft and beyond since 2011
loved this podcast - love Joel. I discovered him through Empires, watching Pix (new to minecraft and his series really helped this *40 year old learn!) and found Joel - he is now one of the few I always cheer and try and watch asap, when I see an upload! Such a lovely lad 🥰 Also really like you guys, this is my first season watching Hermitcraft and tbh it's because of Joel & Skizz and the others from the Live series!
It's been genuinely amazing to hear more about Joel's journey on TH-cam and his dedication and perseverance to both his viewers and videos! He has been and continues to be an icon in the Minecraft content creation space!
Here's to hoping Joel builds a roller-coaster/rail cart system in Hermitcraft after the many roller-coaster conversations in the podcast XD
45:37 Joel just validated all of my spending habits /j
Listened to this one already on spotify earlier but still wanna watch the whole thing 😂 Would love Lizzie as a guest in the podcast as well ♡
I just realized I think we need larger stacks of items! That could help with the inventory.
Re: Hytale I just saw a video the other day that was an interview with Noxy talking about the power of a single player in relation to how Technoblade impacted both hypixel and the trajectory of Hytale and he talks about the development and has some updates. So it's still a thing!
Joel has become one of my favorite Hermits. What a great addition to the server!
I&S! You have to get Lizzie on here too.
Love every time Impulse talks about rationalizing the number of people enjoying your work - the world can feel so Big online, but when you tie it down to what an actual roomful of that number of people feels like, it helps make it easier to see how many people you're actually reaching.
23:43 No but it’s crazy to think about minecraft ending someday.. but all good things must come to an end
I’m the 10 year+ viewer lol. I’m 34 now. And started watching back in the Crazy Craft days. Me and my husband watch these videos together. I don’t play Minecraft much anymore. But I still love watching it. 😊
AHHH, I WAS READING THIS AS HE SAID THAT!!! Btw, congrats, keep going lol🎉
I was here since crazy craft too! (8 and a half year viewer not 10 though). I watched them since I was 5 and now I am nearly 14. I dont play minecraft often anymore but I still enjoy watching it alot!
Joel was my internet crush😂now I just enjoy the heck out of the cuteness between him and Lizzie ❤👏
3:28 he was firteen
I’ve started thinking too much about how I’d feel meeting Joel. I would cry. I would cry! Especially lizzie tbh she raised me I know that’s cliche but I love them both so much omg I would faint probably
Dont worry, I would do the exact same! They were both my literal childhood and still impact my life today!
Doc said in a recent Hermitcraft episode that he was going to be on the podcast so I'm really looking forward to that!
I'd love to see Joel and Lizzie on the podcast, i know to got Joel now both of them
Just so yall know : I had my day changed for the better watching this and listening to yall. Thank you.
This is an underrated comment, commitment is what you have.🎉
I really like the spacing of a few duo episodes inbetween these guest episodes! Keeps both fresh!
I tore my ACL at 15 playing tag. 😅 stepped in a hole and my knee twisted. Joel isn't alone doing it at a young age lol
Episode 100 next week!
Either they’ll interview Grian or have an episode where they look back on the podcast’s journey.
I agree
I rewatch that video where the game updates every day every couple of months, I love it its such a fun idea
Joel, you havent been lucky, you are GOOD at what you do, and dont downplay that
I would love to see Grian on the Podcast!😊
I just wanna say thank you for getting Joel. I discovered him in the second life series when he died like 4x in his second episode and saw it in others and HAD to know what happened and fell in love with his content. Love hearing his story and everything!!! I’ve waited for this one for a while since part 1 lol
I could literally watch you guys build and hangout no matter what Mojang does with Minecraft.
I love Joel! He and lizzy were the first Minecraft TH-camrs I watched (besides Grian’s build tutorials). ❤❤❤
The bleep out 😂 45:05
I have been watching Joel for as long as I can remember, I am a long time viewer. Same as like Lizzie, and all the ogs
If Joel’s channel ever dies out and he stops posting I think I might die with it. Also if the day comes when I get the chance to meet Joel, I would be soooo nervous to talk to him but so grateful at the same time.
With regards to inventory space. I have been going through Etho's let's play series and it was funny because he was basically saying the same thing about how it is so many more blocks but same inventory space in an episode from 11 years ago while discussing the upcoming release of the ender chest.
Attention to detail and community collaboration makes Minecraft rare
regarding the people unsubscribing thing... it's not necessarily people, youtube is unsubscribing people. I keep getting recommendations from channels I *was* subscribed to, and now I find I'm not. I haven't unsubbed from anyone ever, so I know it's not me. I also ALWAYS click bell icon, because I don't see the point of subbing and not getting notifications. However, there are a great many channels I'm not 'clicked bell' for. TH-cam is definitely downgrading our subs if we don't click from notifications often enough. I'd love to know what's going on with that and how it works. I'm sorry to youtubers, it's harder and harder to retain your audience if TH-cam just switches them off!
I've been wanting Joel on this podcast for so long, it was amazing and I'm so happy he was on the podcast
Joel is so awesome. One of the best Minecrafters out there. He always makes me laugh.
Really enjoyed this 2 part podcast guys! Very interesting discussion and love how grounded Joel is. I think that is what i like about the hermits in general, is how humble they are and how they are doing this as they enjoy it, whether it be playing minecraft or the creative side of YT.
As someone who follows all of you but has never taken the time to meet you in person, i can confirm that a lot of your videos, especially Skizz's videos, improve my life. These podcasts have also had a pretty profound impact on tons of us. Between the comments here and during streams, it's quite evident. Thank you all.
Same Skizz I feel you, I had 12 lock types including slabs and I was proud of myself.
Freshman year in high school so around the same age as Joel, I tore my ACL playing soccer and had to have reconstructive surgery- so a year recovery with the hamstring graft. They had to drill through my growth plate and had a very similar injury/ recovery. However, I went onto university to play. It's a lot of hard work- but it's doable! But range of motion isn't all there and now being 10 years out of it, I still have inflammation and aches and runners' knees by the age of 25. Now 30, I don't do much contact- just coach.
The audience comment Etho made is so interesting. Joel's take on it rings true except I've never played Minecraft.. My friend introduced me to mindcrack 10+ years ago and I've been watching creators in this space ever since. It's just fun to watch something creative and entertaining!
this is literally the only podcast ive fully listened to
I really really enjoyed myself during these two episodes with our man Joel , probably one of my all time favourite episodes ( am I biased cus Joel ? Yes very much
I really want to see Lizzie on the podcast some time now that Joel has been on.
I didn't pick up Minecraft until I was a full grown adult during COVID lock down, so I'm still in my honeymoon period with Minecraft TH-cam. I love all the content out there and consume it on the daily. I agree that a new audience comes up all the time
If or when youtube is done, tell us where you go next. We will follow you to whatever platform! The end of youtube will not mean the end of Hermitcraft or minecraft content. We just have to find a new place if that happens.
I am loving the hermits being close together and interacting.. So many laughs
It's so funny hearing Skizz talk about learning to edit on Avid -- it's notorious for being difficult to learn because it was built for people who were used to the process of editing actual film like physical reels of film -- and it's still an industry standard TO THIS DAY
I only started watching Hermitcraft after the crossover with Empires, and I've been hooked ever since. This season I'm watching as many POV's as possible, I absolutely love Impulse and Skizz, and the chaos they get up to together and with other Hermits. So glad I started checking out the podcasts!
I will always watch Joel as long as he is posting
At the end of the day we watch for the people, not the game. Whatever happens to Minecraft happens to Minecraft, the audience will still be around awaiting what you guys will do next
I have watched every episode (some multiple times). It makes my Friday morning. I cannot believe that next week is episode 100!!!
Yeah, coming up on 2 years!!! Can't believe it's been going that long already
I found this at the perfect time. I struggle with insomnia and tonight was one of those nights where i just cant sleep. This gives me something to do other than just make myself miserable trying. Thank you Impulse and Skizz & Joel! Have been looking forward to this podcast forever
Its timeless and ageless for families to play together..🌟
As someone who is on a big Amtrak trip, trains are also nice to disconnect and enjoy the ride
It’s nice to hear Joel talk about RuneScape. I played it as a kid too and I just picked it up again 20 years after I first played! It’s really fun and has gotten me into gaming where before I felt like there wasn’t a point cause I wasn’t good at it. Great chats all around ❤️ love this podcast
In ten years I hope that Joel's still very happy doing what he loves and I hope that I'm still watching the videos of the man that I have first watched back when I was in 6th grade. I'm graduating college next year and I'm still watching Joel (man time flies). It's been so fun knowing more about this man who I consider a childhood hero through this podcast so I'm very thankful and I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it!! 🤍🫂
Joel saying that the people who have been watching him for 10 years are the minority is crazy because I've been watching him since I was about 10 and now roughly 10 years later I'm in university and I still watch his videos. I never really thought about the fact that kids are always aging into Minecraft videos and discovering the same youtubers I watched as a kid. It really speaks to how high quality his content is that his videos have stayed entertaining to me from childhood to early adulthood. When your videos are that good, your viewers will stick with you :)
You all are amazing, I have so much fun watching. I send lots of good energy to you from the South of Brazil, big hug.
If I saw Joel or lizzy in real life, I think I would actually start crying 😭
I LOVE Joel, I’m so glad to see him on the podcast. I also love how the guys have ability to relate to everyone they’ve had on
been watching joel for over 10 years!! literally grew up on joel and lizzie
Same. I was a toddler when I started watching Lizzie, I had a tumotoulous childhood, grew up in a car, I loved Lizzie, Joel, Etho, and Grian, and I think scar saved my life.
the idea of an entire stadium sat watching a smallishbeans video is INSANE to think about & it’s just a fraction of joel’s audience omg
As a small content creator that is currently at a low point "end of the rollercoaster" analogy is such a great motivator. Thank you for the amazing podcasts
At 30:15 Joel explained exactly how I found Etho. I grew up watching Lizzie and Joel and just last year I got into the life series and immediately gravitated towards him. Incredible episode
