Sofubi figures are such a wonderful postmodern toycreation, quoting and so often ironically or with unlimited admiration mixing toyline traditions, creating very lovely and charming new characters 😊.
Can completely understand your fascination ✌️🤗.
That light purple Moucoyama one is absolutely bonkers. It's like those old fertility idols, but made by some kind of Lovecraftian nightmare-beings.
Boda studios is incredible, there work is unreal
Thanks so much for making this video. It’s what introduced me this entire genre of sofubi! and it’s now one of my favorite things of all time, so thank you so much. Keep up the awesome work!!!
Cool flexible vinyl figures. The variety of colorful monster designs is nice to see, thanks! A rhino beetle as a pet, that's unique.
ALL of them are amazing,,,the detail is insane,,a pretty penny i bet,😮
The Egyptian crocodile is Sobek, Egyptian god of crocodiles and murder. He is the son of Set, god of chaos, and the brother of Anubis, god of the dead. He is fairly accurate, as Sobek lost a hand for the crime of stealing the daughter of another god. A worthy representation.
Jabba would indeed make a great soft vinyl toy.
these things are a true work of art, I kind of wish I can make my own someday looks fun
Interesting to learn a bit about Sofubi, I had no idea it existed. Great video!
Super fun collection, thanks for sharing! I totally get how these appeal to someone that loves all the creature designs from Star Wars. I've seen Sofubi at a few toy stores and shows I've gone to. I'll have to take a closer look next time.
They are very cool.
Those are great.
Amazing stuff! In Hard-Off (a Japanese secondhand store), you used to be able to find piles and piles of old sofubi for a few yen each. However, I have no idea as to whether any of them were vintage or collectible.
The Popy King Zaurus series is the best.
I like those Mirocks, but they are EXPENSIVE
I love them too, they can be very expensive.
I always thought these were interesting and cool looking. There's just so much of it and the prices can get crazy, it's intimidating lol. I wouldn't know where to begin and what is what? That's why I've never fully got into it.
Yes I get that. I’m still learning but I think I’m starting to get an idea of who the major players are and how much certain types of things should cost, etc.
@@MightyJabbasCollection ...rock on, I'll stay tuned 😑👍.
Godzilla was my favorite franchise as a kid. The only thing that beat it was Star Wars of course.
Invader Sebek is phenomenal. I’m trying to figure out how to come up with a similar thing in 6” scale to put in my action figure display. Give him a lightsaber.
How much is it if you win the lottery pick
Does this soft vinyl age well? (drying out, cracking etc..)
It’s hard to say for sure about the modern ones, but the vintage soft vinyl toys actually seem to have lasted pretty well over the decades
the best thing about sofubi (soft vinyl) is they are very durable. resistant from dropping, squeeze, heat, etc unless you use knife/scissor to purposely cut them. That is why there are still many vintage sofubi out there. you might find some with chip-off paint but if you wish can even completely wash it off & repaint.
hiii there wanna ask are sofubi is a expensive hobby ?🤣 because i see at mandarake its quite expensive hahahaa
Definitely expensive although what you see at Mandarake is pretty much the top end. If you get things direct from the creators it will often be cheaper
@@MightyJabbasCollection yeahh just a minute ago i see your recording at Mandarake😂👍 & yeah im understand now that was a resseller price.
wowww so if we can get direct from creators that means really lucky😂💯
I'm pretty sure "Rodan's" authentic Japanese name was "ラドン" or "Radon". There's no L in there I believe. Also, it's not from Gojira but was first featured as an original monster in his own film.
Well, I speak Japanese so I did pronounce it correctly. But yes it is spelled with an R in romanized Japanese
