I lived through Hurricane Zeta which was also a category 3,and we lost power,had massive clean up,and many services were curtailed...so while not catastrophic...IT WAS A PAIN. I'm glad it wasn't as bad as predicted...but better to be prepared than not...and all of the things we spent money on for supplies were USED.
No one can predict perfectly what will happen. But when It was over the ocean it was one of the strongest storms that ever happened. Better safe than sorry with your life.

Irma was worse at Cat 2. This one was weird. I'm in the storm now.
Mainly flooding which is to be expected, but it's not going to cut a destructive path across Florida.
