    The only mistake was removing the entire valve from the toilet. You could have done all of this with the valve in place.

      Good for you. It was better for me to learn all this with the valve removed, plus the video would have been more difficult without removing the valve.

    At 3:33, how do we adjust the height at which water will stop during the filling stage?

    Yep, the problem everybody keeps skipping over is how to adjust the water level on this valve. I washed five different videos and this is the thing they never addressed specifically on this Toto valve

      Did you ever figure out how to adjust the water level on this style? My sisters water level rose on her by a half an inch and we have no clue how or why but its too high now so you constantly hear water flow.

      @@TheSickNeeds The manual says that this particular model has no water level adjustments. The fill valve has been preset at the factory. If you have found a solution, please let me know.

      @ throw it out and get something else was our solution.

      @@TheSickNeeds Haha! I should do this too but I found a quick and cheap solution. I placed a jar in the tank, and now the water level rises to the correct height.

      @our water level was too high not to low so a jar would have made our situation worse.

    At 1:40 that removes the float, but how do we adjust the height at which water will stop flowing?

    You didn't by chance get an idea of how you adjust the water fill level when you had this out did you? I have the exact same valve and I'm trying not to take it out to adjust the level but I just can't find any manuals, videos, anything on how you adjust it. All the other videos have different valves.

      Sorry for the delay. I believe you turn the head counter-clockwise a quarter turn while hanging on to the stem and then pull the head up or down before locking it by turning the opposite direction. You may have to remove the valve to do this if you don't have room in the tank.

    Can this be done leaving the fill valve in place? Also, is there a washer missing somewhere -- represented by the debris? Ah yes, in the stop valve.

    • @Flyfisherbob15
      @Flyfisherbob15  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It might be possible to leave the valve in place, but it is much easier to work on with the valve removed from the tank. Removing the valve also lets you look through the fill tube channel with the filter removed. After making this video more debris came through from the washer remnants trapped in the water line, partially blocking the flow again,. This extendied the fill times dramatically once more. Repeating this repair procedure corrected the problem. (Moral of the story-remove old washers in shutoff valves BEFORE they disintegrate.)

      @@Flyfisherbob15 THANKS Bob. Actually I see this comment now immediately after having fixed it in place! I found just some tiny scraps of paper (?) on the green stem you showed. I will see if the problem re-occurs. Awesome vid, I had this dissembled, rinsed and reassembled in what seemed like 3 minutes. It's a genius design. Refilling strongly now.

    How to adjust the fill valve. The toilet says the water line should be 1/2 from the top of the overflow, mine is 3/4...........
